Fake Player Names

Fake Player Names

Curious if anyone know how these are generated and if they could be players with duplicate names especially if I play way into the future. Is the a finite amount of names? Is there a way I can add more like to some particular file just curious

The default names used within the game are contained in the default.dat file in the C:\Wolverine Studios\DDSCB2018 directory (might be different if you have Steam version). You can use a tool like Microsoft Access (or some other free tool) to edit the first and last name tables within the default.dat file. Then the next time you create an association, those edited/new names would be available.

I don't know the answer to your question about duplicates, but I presume it is possible since in the real world people do have the same names.

Yes, if you edit the files I mentioned above. Don't believe there is a limit but the tables already have thousands of names. There is a first name table and last name table.

notepad is a text editor, not database program. you could use open office if you don’t have ms access

Yes, you might get a player with the same name at some point in the future as you play out succeeding years.

never really minded seeing two players with identical names...often on the same team, with identical hometown and high school info...i just assume they are twins (or brothers) and edit the first name of one of them....guess that's just me..but it never bothered me...even if they are identical coming in they never develop the same. for years Creighton never seemed to run out of Korver brothers.

but because players with identical names, also tend to have identical biographical information...there is something more going on there than just a random name coincidence. Gary?
