Home Court

It seems like home court advantage is a bit too unrealistic in the game.

Here are some of the teams records home and away...

Team 1: 9-0 home, 3-6 away
Team 2: 10-0 home, 2-3 away
Team 3: 9-1 home, 1-6 away

Seems like just about every team is like this... is anyone else noticing this? Can something be done to make it a bit more realistic?

Thanks

Tom

Unless you're coaching a really good team that probably IS realistic.

To determine this you'd need to compare the home win % for ALL teams in DDSCB against the home win % for ALL teams in Division 1 in real life NCAA basketball.

Seems to me that we looked at this in a previous version of DDSCB (2017 or 2016) and found that there wasn't all that much of a difference between DDSCB and real life. Maybe it's worth another look though...not sure.

Here's an excellent source for real life home court win % as well as a discussion of the big advantage that a home court provides: http://www.rpiratings.com/homecourtrec.php

A betting webpage indicates that on average home court typically provides a 2.5 to 6.0 point advantage. That's pretty significant.

This will probably be a dumb question but I have yet to get to a tournament im still on my first year and havent gotten to march madness yet...

My question is is there a home court advantage for march madness? i know in real life its on neutral site but does the game do it that way where there is no home court advantage during the tourney?
