1/1/2031: 11-2, 2-0. #4, RPI #4.

1/15: 14-3, 5-1, #3, RPI #4. In a 2 way tie for 1st in the Big 10. Rido got 38, 17 in our last game, against #5 ranked Mich. ST.

1/29: 16-5, 7-3, #6, RPI #6. In a 2 way tie for 3rd, 1 back of 1st. This team is underperforming a little. +12.7 PPG, +8.9 RBs, +4.5 TOs.

Adam Rido is #8 on the Norton list. Dan Abny is #14, Marc Boxx #26.

2/12: 17-6, 10-4, #9, RPI #6. In a 2 way tie for 2nd, 1 back of 1st.

Rido is #6 on the Norton list, Abny is #16.

2/26: We end the regular season at 22-7, 13-5, tied for 1st with #24 Purdue, the #2 seed. #8, RPI #5. +13.0 PPG, +10.5 RBs, +3.9 TOs. Rido led us with 18.1, 9.9. 14.3 for Boxx, 14.2 for Abny.

3/5: Rido is #7 on the Norton list.

I am shocked to learn that no one is declaring for the NBA draft.

3/7: We play #7 seed Michigan, 19-11, 10-8, in the quarters.

3/8: 81-54. 5 players with 10 or more led by Rido, with 19 and 8. Hays had 14, 11. +10 TOs.

#3 seed, #14 ranked Maryland, 22-8, 12-6, in the semis. We lost by 1 in OT there.

3/9: 68-42, but there’s a price. Starting PG Marc Boxx sprained an ankle and is out 9 days. Abny will shift to PG, Alex Wall will start at SG, and Sean Moro will sub at SG. 14, 13 for Rido, 15, 9, 4, 3 for Abny, 12, 4, 6 for Boxx.

#5 seed, #13 ranked Michigan ST, 26-7, 11-7, for the title. Beat them by 20 at our place.

3/10: 73-62 and the title! Wall had 19 in his first start. Abny had 10 assists. 29, 11 for Rido, 9, 11 for Hays. +15 RBs.

25-7, 13-5, #8, RPI #5. #1 somewhere.

3/12: #2 East. Not only did we not get a #1, they put us in the bracket with the #1 team in the country, Syracuse. We play Kennesaw ST, 19-11, 1st.

3/16: 68-57. NOT happy with the way we played. 22, 14 for Rido, but he fouled out for the 2nd straight game. +25 RBs. Our size won it for us.

#7 seed Gonzaga, 21-11, in round 2. They can score. Boxx is back.

3/18: 72-42. Maybe they can’t score! 30, 22 for Rido, a HUGE game. 9, 10 for Abny. +26 RBs, 11 TOs.

#3 seed Michigan ST, 28-8, in the Sweet Sixteen. We beat them twice this season.

3/23: 71-80. Our strength is inside, and that’s where they beat us. Our big guys just didn’t get it done tonight.

Oh well, next year we should make a big time run for the national title.

4/3: 4 #1 seeds in the Final Four, and #5 ranked Arizona is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Adam Rido makes 2nd team All American. In Conf., Rido is POY and 1st team, along with Dan Abny. Marc Boxx makes the 2nd team.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Got it, B+ to A-.

27-8, 13-5, Sweet Sixteen. Overall, 339-98, .776. Let’s see if we can win it all next season!

National Gold, International basic.

6/5: One guy transfers out.

No one of interest in the transfer pool.

6/26: 4 scholarships. We want 3 bigs.

8/7: C Ken Edds is #2 on the Norton list. PF Jess Hays is #7, C Adam Rido is #10, PG Raul Mill is #17, PG Marc Boxx is #23, PG Dan Abny is #26.

8/21: We offer to a PG and 3 PFs.

9/18: Got 3, lost one. Got a PF, #9, a PG, #11, a PF, #13.

NIT vs. OK ST, #12.

9/25: Lost one.

10/2: 1st day of practice.

We’re picked to win the conference.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Frosh Raul Mill, junior Dan Abny, and senior Marc Boxx share the guard duties about equally.

Senior Jess Hay starts at SF. Junior Adam Rido starts at PF, subs at C.

Frosh Ken Edds, who looks like a world beater, is at C.

11/13: We start at the NIT vs. OK ST, #12. We’re the #8 seed, they’re #9.

11/14: 75-50. 12, 14 for Edds, 16 for Boxx, 11, 10 for Rido, 9, 9 for Hays, 13, 4 for Bark. +17 RBs, 9 TOs.

#1 seed, #1 ranked Syracuse. This will give us an early indication of how good we can be. We need to beat them in March or April, not in November, but we’re going for the win!

11/16: 87-90. They jumped out to a big early lead and we played catch up all night; never quite got there, but scared them a few times. Got it to one 3 times in the final minute, but they never let us take the lead. Edds was in foul trouble all night; only played 13 minutes. He’ll learn before the next time we play them. 16, 11 for Rido, 16 for Abny, 15 for Mill, who also fouled out in 13 minutes. 18, 5, 7 for Boxx.

11/20: 1-1, #11.

All 3 recruits sign. Still chasing one.

12/4: 5-1, #4, RPI #2. We’ve won our last 4, 3 against top 10 teams. Edds is getting 21.7, 11.7.

12/25: 9-1 going to conf. play. #4, RPI #2. +22.9 PPG (#1), +10.9 RBs (#3), +7.1 TOs (#1). Edds is getting 22.0, 11.6.

1/1/2032: 11-1, 2-0, #4, RPI #1.

1/15: 15-1, 6-0, #2, RPI #1.

1/29: 19-1, 10-0, #2, RPI #1. +22.1 PPG, +14.3 RBs, +4.8 TOs. Edds is getting 22.4, 12.8; 4th in the nation in both.

Ken Edds is #2, and Adam Rido #27 on the Norton list.

2/12: 23-1, 14-0, #2, RPI #1. 23.7 and 12.8 for Edds. Edds is #1 on the Norton list.

2/19: #1 ranked!

2/26: 27-1, 18-0, #1, RPI #1. +22.5 PPG, +15.8 RBs, +4.1 TOs.

3/5: Edds is still #1 on the Norton list.

3 declare for the draft: Ken Edds, which is no surprise, Alex Bakk, a PF who would have gotten minutes next season, and Adam Mars, a PF who didn’t get his game together this year. We’re going to be a little short handed up front.

3/7: We play #9 seed Maryland, 13-16, 7-11, in the quarter finals.

3/8: 84-63. Close for a half. 21, 16 for Edds, 16, 17 for Rido, 16, 7 for Hays. +24 RBs, 10 TOs.

#5 seed Illinois, 18-11. 9-9. Beat them twice.

3/9: 82-60. Never close. 22, 19 for Edds, 19, 8, 4 for Abny, 13, 13 for Rido. +19 RBs, 9 TOs.

#2 seed, #7 ranked Michigan ST, 25-4, 15-3, for the title. Their starting PF is out. We beat them by 23.

3/10: 89-61. We got 56 in the 1st half. 30, 15 for Edds, the tourney MOP, 14, 12 for Rido. +22 RBs, 6 TOs. We had a great tournament. Now on to the big one!

30-1, 18-0, #1, RPI #1.

3/12: #1 East and overall. We play 12-19 South Dakota first.

3/16: 96-58. Ugly. 33, 8 for Edds, 16 for Boxx. +10 RBs, 12 TOs. We took our foot off the gas early.

#9 seed Ohio ST, 21-10, in the 2nd round. We won by only 7 there, on a night when the shots wouldn’t drop.

3/18: 84-64. 50-24 at the half. Again, we emptied the bench early. 12, 12 for Rido, 15 for Abny, 11, 7 for Edds (They doubled him all night.). 6 TOs.

#4 seed, #15 ranked Kansas, 25-6, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 87-58. 48-26 at the half. 22, 16 for Edds, 18, 7 for Hays. +17 RBs.

#3 seed, #10 ranked Texas, 28-7, in the Elite Eight. They’re very good outside.

3/25: 79-65. It wasn’t that close. 30, 15 for Edds. +11 RBs.

Our 2nd trip to the Final Four. The last time, we weren’t quite strong enough, but we’re the favorite to win it all this year.

We play #2 seed, #4 ranked Arizona, 33-4. I don’t think they can stop our inside game.

4/1: 92-86. We were down 14 early in the 2nd half, twice. Then we finally got it together. 20, 6 for Hays, 18 for Edds, who played only 14 minutes due to foul trouble (and terrible calls). They gave us our first post season challenge.

It’s #3 ranked Kentucky, 33-5, for the title. They’re very good inside. Their PF is a big time scorer and rebounder, and their C is good, too. We think we’re the better team, but our inside players need to be at the top of their game.

4/3: 85-69 and the title!!! We never trailed, and the only tie was at 0-0. 16, 9 for Edds, 20, 5, 4 for Abny, 13, 8 for Rido, 10, 9 for Hays. WOO!!!

4/4: Awards: Ken Edds won the Norton Award, was Final Four MOP, and was 1st team All American. Gonna miss that guy! I got National COY. In Conf., Edds was POY, Frosh OY, Def. POY, and 1st team. Adam Rido made 2nd team, but it should have been 1st.

4/23: I ask for $. We get $23,000.

36-1, National title. Overall, 375-99, .791.

We’re losing some very good players, but the goal is to repeat.

5/1: #3 recruiting class.

#1 preseason.

6/5: No one of interest.

6/26: 5 scholarships. We need at least 3 bigs.

8/7: 7 on the Norton list: C Adam Rido is #10, PF Greg Knox #11, PG Raul Mill #13, PF Ed Abra #15, PG Dan Abny #18, PG Casy Colt #34, and PF Bill Drye #42.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, an SF, a PF, a C.

9/18: Got 2, lost 2. Got an SF, #5, and a C, #7.

JAG Holiday vs. Albany.

9/25: Got a PF, #30. Lost 2.

10/2: We lose 2.

Picked to win the Big 10.

10/16: Doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any guards. None left in the recruit pool that interest us. Damn!

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Senior Dan Abny is at the Point, with soph Drew Samm subbing.

Soph Raul Mill starts at SG with juco junior Lan Marn in reserve.

Frosh Greg Knox starts at SF. Frosh Ed Abra backs up at SF and PF.

Let’s go for that repeat!

11/20: 2-0. Rebounding looks great, but ball handling does not. We’ll work on it.

All 3 recruits sign.

12/11: 5-1. #6, RPI #4. Our only loss came to #1 UNC, by 4; in that game they went to the line 27 times, we went 10.

As expected, seniors Adam Rido and Dan Abny are leading us.

12/20: 7-1. We head for the JAG Holiday. We’re the #1 seed. We play #8 Albany, 7-3, first.

12/23: 80-67. 24, 19 for Rido. 29, 13 from the bench. +15 RBs, +11 TOs.

#5 seed Kansas ST, 7-2, in the semis.

12/24: 79-63. 19, 7, 4, 3, 2 for Rido, 15 for SF Ed Abra, 14, 9 for 6th man Bill Drye, 16 RBs for PF Greg Knox. +18 RBs.

#3 seed Missouri, 6-4, for the title.

12/25: 87-61. 16 each for Rido and Abra, 12, 6 for Drye. +14 RBs, +9 TOs.

10-1, #3, RPI #6. +17.4 PPG, +12.3 RBs, +2.8 TOs. Rido is getting 18.5, 11.7.

1/1/2033: 12-1, 2-0, with a win at #19 Mich. ST, by 18!

1/15: 16-1, 6-0. #2, RPI #3. Bench gets 23.8 per game.

1/29: 20-1, 10-0, #2, RPI #4. +17.9 PPG, +11.3 RBs, +4.1 TOs. Rido is getting 19.3, 12.0; he’s #3 on the Norton list.

Definitely won’t be getting any guards this year. The last one we were chasing didn’t hit our SAT score.

2/5: Lost by 2 at Wisconsin. They went to the line 35 times; we went 11. The game was too close for me to get a T, but I will be waiting for the next time these three idiots do one of our games. Still alone in first in the Big 10.

2/12: 23-2, 13-1, #2, RPI #5.

Rido is #4 on the Norton list.

2/26: 27-2, 17-1, #2, RPI #5 going to the post season. +17.6 PPG, +12.5 RBs, +3.0 TOs. 19.6, 11.6 for Rido. We win the Conf. by 3 games.

3/5: Shocked! No one declared for the draft!

Rido is #3 on the Norton list.

3/7: We play #9 seed Ohio ST, 19-11, 9-9. Beat them in OT there, then by 18 here.

3/8: 85-51. 41 for the bench. 19, 3, 9 for Abny. +11 TOs.

#5 seed Illinois, 19-12, 10-8, in the semis. Beat them by 27 and 21.

3/9: 80-54. 17 for SG Raul Mill 13, 9 for PF Greg Knox, 13, 8 for SF Ed Abra. 7 TOs.

#3 seed Maryland, 21-9, 12-6, for the title. We won by 10 at our place.

3/10: 86-87 in OT. We missed 2 free throws at the end of regulation. Hitting one would have given us the win. Then in OT we missed a 6 footer at the buzzer.

Threw this one away. They killed us outside, hitting 19-38 on threes. Rido fouled out with 2 ½ to go in regulation. Not our night. This may drop us to a #2 seed.

29-3, 17-1, #2, RPI #5.

#1 Midwest! We play #16 Marist, 17-13.

3/16: 90-63. 18, 14 for Rido, 17, 13 for Knox, 18, 7 for 6th man Bill Drye, and 14 for Abra. +25 RBs, 8 TOs.

#9 seed Michigan ST in the 2nd round. Beat them by 18 and 30.

3/18: 66-49. Great D, but the O was sleepy. 24, 17 for Rido. +14 RBs, 11 TOs.

Rematch with #4 seed, #22 ranked Maryland, who just beat us in the Big 10 title game. They’re 24-9. We need to do better against the three.

3/23: 86-54. My guys were psyched! We never trailed. 24, 14 for Rido, 15, 8 for Drye, 3 guys had 10. +18 RBs, +9 TOs.

Elite Eight vs. #2 seed, #8 ranked Georgia Tech, 28-6. Their strength is outside.

3/25: 90-70. 6 guys with 10 or more. +10 RBs.

Back to the Final Four vs. #1 ranked North Carolina, 29-1. They beat us by 4 in November. They don’t have many weaknesses.

4/1: No repeat, 81-91. They jumped out to a 21 point lead, and we never got closer than 5.

4/3: UNC is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Adam Rido is a 1st team All American. In Conf., Rido is POY, Def. POY, and 1st team.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Got it. A- to A.

33-4, 17-1, Final Four. Overall, 408-103, .798.
