Can't Take Control of Team (AI Controlled is blank)

How do I take control of a team? In Team Info, next to AI Controlled, even on teams that are AI Controlled, there is no checkbox or anything of the kind. I have found no way to change once you select the initial team you control when first setting up your league. This needs to be addressed asap.
