Generally, depth charts are pretty self explanatory.
You can create different depth charts, giving them each a name, then you can weight each depth chart to be used in different situations. So 3rd and long you can have your blocking back in with your speedy receivers on offense, or your pass rushers, blitzers, and/or coverage linebackers on defense. You do this by weighting them in each situation, so zero means that depth chart won't be used.
