Instructions / Template for creating draft classes

Instructions / Template for creating draft classes

As you know each season you are asked to either let the game create a draft class or there is a file import option. Here is a link to a template you can use and here are some instructions. The template file is called PBdraft.rkf and can be opened with any database editing program like Access or Open Office.

https://www.wolverinestudios.com/downlo ... BDraft.zip

An important thing to know is you're going to need to keep a copy of any draft classes you create on your computer somewhere - the game will only recognize the file to import if it is called PBdraft.rkf so you're going to want to create a file and save it as say 2018.rkf, 2017.rkf etc... and then when you want to use one copy and paste it and then change the name to PBdraft

The PBdraft.rkf file must be placed in your league's save game folder. This is now located in your documents folder under Wolverine Studios\DDSPB19\Leagues\ - there you should find a folder for your league. Place the PBdraft.rkf file in that folder. Then proceed to the popup where you will choose the FILE IMPORT option.

It's always a good idea to save the game and keep a back up your files before importing the rookies the first time you to it just to make sure nothing goes wrong

Gary is there a way to see the current draft class in the database after exporting? I remembered back in PB3 that once the class was created/imported that you could export the DB and filter the team column for rookies. Is that not possible anymore?

If you export the database prior to like the draft itself then the current draft class players should be in there with a TeamID of like 500 or something but they won't show up in the database export until around that time period because until that time they're just kept in their own separate file of possible rookies

So let's say I want to edit the rookie class that was created but still scout throughout the season. Would I be able to use a default draft class, export the DB, edit the rookies and then import the DB before the regular season even begins or would this all have to be done just around draft time?

The game will not export the rookies during the season - the only time it will export them is once the season has ended. If you want to scout the rookies you want in the draft class you would have to create a draft class file that could be imported when it asks you to do so prior to the start of the regular season. Once they're imported or created at that point they are not exported again until after the awards period (I think)

Hi Gary,

When you say export the database, how is this done? I can't find any button or link to export from PB19...??

Cheers

Click the LOGIN button at the top of the screen - that will take you to the commissioner page (and LOGIN again will take you back to your page) - there you will find the option to export/import the database
