@fredreed2000, I'm pretty sure there is no guide on how to create a roster mod.

You can use download the tool from the link below to convert files from JSON (which the game uses) to CSV (which can be easily edited in Excel, Google Sheets, etc): viewtopic.php?f=285&t=30102

I think the basic process would be to create a CSV file with all of the players and then convert to JSON so it can be used in the game.
It's a huge project to make everything accurate. Maybe Tigerman can provide more information since he's created great roster files in the past.

The game does come with real names, some sense of real stats, and there is a JSON file you can edit if you want the ratings to be different for some guys. Then there is a NFL player photos pack and it's the closest thing you'll get without doing manual updating of 2670 or so players.

Names come with default rosters already set. Ratings are there but not kept accurate by the makers, you can edit your own json roster file in the directory before starting a new league to make changes to their attributes.
