Salary Cap

The REAL LIFE Salary Cap for 2020 was $198,200,000.00
The *estimated* REAL LIFE Salary Cap for 20201 will be $176,000,000.00

The largest salary in the league is Pat Mahomes at 45 million $ per year (average).

The desired result is to get realism without sillyism. I think we all understand Pat Mahomes' "worth" at 45 mill. We all agree that no team is going to pay any other position than QB a salary like that. You simply won't see a DE at 37 million $ per year, which is what I think we would have if we simply set the game with the real-life parameters.

So, how can we set the salary cap to get the "right" results we want? THAT is the question.

Please share your experiences so that others may be able to take advantage of that wisdom and experience. Thanks to all in advance!!

I was just wondering what if we could setup max value contracts for each position ? For example:
QB - max 45 mln
WR - 27 mln ( D.Hopkins)
DE - 27 mln ( J.Bosa)
LB - 23 mln ( K. Mack)
RB - 16 (CMac)
Etc.
Would that work ?

Talked to Brooks about that very same idea. He's going to do some research on it.

I seriously wish Brooks would reconsider and eventually implement a detailed CAP system for the game. All of the visuals and data feeds are nice but I consider something like this is foundational and should be an integral part of the game, along with a couple of other things.

PF22 allows for max contracts per position to get around the issues stated above.
