Question regarding the offense set - Shuffle -

Exactly what attributes would a guard need to qualify for the in-game description?

Let me rephrase - What attributes would the game take into consideration for a guard to perform this?

Guards with good inside scoring, guards with good size to bully smaller guards in the posts, guards with a higher preference for inside play than normal all would be of use

Its too broad of a question and there's too many variables to just say use X. The best thing to do is experiment. You could even play exhibition games from the main menu and watch the 2D play out and see if the guards are in the areas you want them to be - you can even call offensive sets your team isn't used to running just to see kind of where the players end up and see if you like how they're moving and see how each offense works. Then you can start to implement that system in your career.

AHA - I did not know that was a choice - I noticed I can create an exhibition game with my current save and use my own team.
This is fabulous - I just did as you suggested and watched the players move etc and kept changing my sets .... this definitely will speed up my learning curve

bye and large unless you specifically recruit players to shuffle, motion, or 5 out.....princeton and triangle are your best bets for an all-around team. Princeton and triangle are both great for a typical lineup....a couple of big post guys best kept close to the paint, a SF who has a wide arrange of abilities, and guards who can shoot outside, pass, and penetrate. 5 out is best for a small lineup, 3 or even 4 guards, who are able to shoot outside, with high scoring ratings where you are looking to outscore the opponent, defense be damned. Motion is a great college offense, but only if you recruit to ball handling and passing above everything else.

imo, shuffle is only good if you like to have no offense. to recruit to offense you have to recruit to ballhandling above all else...in CB i think it's even more worthless than motion....but ....hey, i may have to start an association with a coach dedicated to shuffle and motion to prove myself wrong! Personally I hate both of those offenses, but 5 out has it's uses. I'm sure that there are people who tailor their offenses based on their current personnel, which coaches actually do in real life. In CB however... players don't become proficient in a given set in one or even 2 seasons. In practice you must give time to each of the 3 zone offensive sets, 2 defensive sets (unless you are one of those coaches that plays one defensive set til the day you die, usually man to man), and one or 2 pressure sets. That only gives enough practice time to devote to 2 offensive sets, 3 if you put all your money on one defensive set. For most of my teams, those two offensive sets are princeton and triangle....but, experiment!

On the other hand I won a National Championship and went undefeated 36-0 in DDSCB18 with a South Carolina team that ran mostly motion with some shuffle mixed in. To back up what was said earlier... we were a talented ball handling team because i started essentially 2 point guards so that helped but it running motion can work. My team prestige was about 70 and recruiting was set to normal so I wasnt killing myself with difficulty but... my offense worked very well.
