2-3 Zone

2-3 Zone

Postby BWest246 » Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:49 pm

Okay so first off I would like to say that I am really enjoying this game. There is one thing that bothers me when I am in 2D mode for a game. When my team plays a 2-3 defense nobody comes up to guard the man at the top of the key. Both of my guards just continue to stand at the elbows. Maybe this is just me being petty about it, but I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this?

With the 2-3 zone I see the guards shifting into the key (and even slightly across it) when the ball is swung over to the side opposite them, so the 2D representation is good for that. But you're right that the 2D representation doesn't indicate anyone coming out to contend with a guard beyond the top of the key outside the 3-point arc. Maybe that's something Gary could tweak a bit at some point in the future.

But movement in the 2D representation is never totally accurate in all respects for any of the offenses or defenses...it's always an approximation (and not true reality). I always think of the 2D just giving me a rough IDEA of what's going on, rather than being "exactly" how the players are moving, guarding, etc.

I'll pass your concern re that aspect of the 2-3 zone along to Gary...might be more likely to be looked at for CB2020 rather than this version, but that's up to him.

I have better luck with the 3-2. I don;t use it against teams that are strong inside, of course.
