When to study vs when to tutor.

What is the difference and when would you do one over the other? It is hard to see the impact differences.

Gave him a tutor for his Senior season to try and get him eligible for conference play when his academic suspension was up, but when his suspension was over, he went down to a 1.5, career over.
All the other players responded to the studying and tutoring, but this kid, whose work ethic was a low as it could be, simply would not do any school work. I thought about cutting him after his Junior season, but I gave him a chance and he burned me. I liked that this happened though, because some players will not get right no matter how much support they get, and they just blow it.
