Is there one for the new version update or is it all just a surprise?

The patch was mostly obscure glitches and crashes, that due to their obscurity were missed in testing.

Patches typically have bug/crash fixes that are reported on the forum, email, or slack channel. There will be another update soon related to depth charts and some coach related issues that some users were coming across.
