Basketball scores in football...can offenses be adjusted?

Basketball scores in football...can offenses be adjusted?

Postby RedSox04071318 » Tue Sep 03, 2019 11:00 am

Winners of many, if not most of my games in 2018 and already showing in 2019 are scoring 50, 60, 70 points. Ohio State opened 2019 by scoring 101! On BYU! Two other top 25 teams laid the hurt on hapless opponents with 90+ outbursts.

I have looked at the advanced settings of the game, but each one warns in red not to touch unless one knows what one is doing, and I sure don't. Would moving the rushing and passing yards slider down put scores back toward the norm? Should anything other modifiers be altered?

Thinking about buying the game. Is this still an issue?

I've been playing a lot of this game and I've been loving it! I find the scores to be fairly realistic. Don't forget that in real life there are some pretty odd scores, particularly in the first few weeks. Just this past weekend, UCLA beat Washington State 67-63 and Ohio St. beat Miami OH 76-5. I'd recommend giving it a try.

I don't know that I've seen scores get into the 80's and 90's or 100's... most of the teams start running the ball, killing clock, putting in backups, etc. to prevent running up the score. It is certainly possible for it to happen, especially if teams are getting pick 6's, lots of turnovers, teams going on 4th down, or if the players are significantly better than the other team.

Adjusting the sliders will definitely bring down overall yardage gains... I don't typically recommend it as the game is tuned to generate realistic college stats, but if you find yourself seeing yardages really inflated it could certainly help bring stuff back down to normal.
