Rivalries

Rivalries

Postby Zeppelin462 » Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:26 am

Is there a way to edit rivals of teams? I've been scouring the Teams.xml file, as well as other files in the game, and I can't figure this out. While it looks like there are rivalries attached to teams in scheduling (such as Alabama playing Auburn at the end of every season), I can't figure out how this logic was created.

The scheduling system has these rivalry games built in based on a few long standing games that I researched.

Thanks, Brooks. Is there anyway to pull back the hood on the scheduling system? I'm starting to build out a new, fictional universe, and I just want to avoid some of the janky cross-conference rivalry possibilities that could result from, say, Florida State and Florida being replaced with Detroit and Los Angeles (random, but trying to make the point). I could of course customize the CSV, but would love to see if I can play around with the rivalries you have programmed from within the files.

these are all built in and can't be updated unless you use a custom schedule

Thanks again. Kind of a bummer that we can't choose rivalries outside of the custom CSV. Any chance this is being looked at for the 2020 version?

I can add rivalries for CF20 if there are some i missed. Otherwise a custom CSV will be your best way to control specifics, even in CF20.

Totally. I'm thinking more for people with fictional universes like mine. Would be helpful to be able to pre-program rivalries as we create our leagues.

Ucla Cal is not a true rivalry. It’s UCLA v usc. And it’s Stanford v Cal. Their are a ton more rivalries. Almost every team in the country has one. My school it’s San Jose St v Fresno St. It would be great to make a rivalry selection a feature in the new CF20 game!
