LSU's nightmare start to the season continued, as Troy came into the Maravich Assembly Center to pick up its first road win of the season. Danny Thomas led the way with an 18-point effort, and overall the Trojans shot 50% from three. Steven Haslem also had an excellent defensive game, grabbing 8 rebounds and blocking 3 shots. One of the biggest differences was bench contributions, as LSU only received 8 points from its subs. Even though LSU wasn't expected to contend in the SEC this year, this is a huge win for Coach Price's group coming off two losses in a row.

Luke Linton had only scored in double figures once this season leading up to this game, but the sophomore exploded for 19 points in a comfortable win over William & Mary. After being tied at halftime, the Trojans cruised in the second half to win by 12. Troy's 18 turnovers were a reason for concern, but hot shooting bailed the Trojans out as they made 11 threes.

Troy came up just short in its first contest against a ranked opponent, as they fell to the Miami Hurricanes by 5 on the road. Foul Trouble was a huge problem, as Luke Linton fouled out in just 16 minutes, and the Hurricanes got to take 36 free throws. Poor shooting was also costly, as the Trojans connected on just three treys in the game.

A strong second half made the score look close, but ultimately Troy's defense wasn't good enough to win in a tough environment at Marquette. The Golden Eagles turned the ball over just 8 times, while the Trojans constantly gave the ball back to the other team. There were some exciting individual performances, as Luke Linton put up a double-double, and Rob Stone pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds.

Danny Thomas has had some good games. I'm sorta liking him. He'll probably eventually fund St. Jude Hospital and help all those kids.

The first half against Eastern Kentucky was a disaster, as the game got out of hand for Troy quickly. The starting guards combined to shoot just 5-21 from the floor, and outside of Danny Thomas none of the starters played well. The Trojans won the second half by 11 points in a solid effort, but by that point the damage was done.

In essentially a carbon copy of the previous game, Troy fell way behind against Florida State and never had a chance in the second half. The Trojans actually won the battle in the paint, but the Seminoles shot over 50% from long range which sealed their victory.
