12/4: 4 wins in a row, all at home.

84-75 over Maryland. We took an early lead and expanded it quickly. We led all the way and the final score was as close as they got. 18, 7, 1, 3 for Ausk, 13, 6, 12 for Holl, 13, 8 for Toon. We were strong inside.

87-59 over #5 Oklahoma ST. We again jumped right out to a lead and just took off. 18, 7, 6 for Holl, 14, 16 for Toon, 15, 7, 3 for Moca. +16 RBs.

96-78 over West Virginia. We led by only 6 at the half and they stayed close until the final few minutes. 23, 3, 3, 3 blocks for Ausk, 16, 10, 6 for Holl, 16, 5, 6, 4 for Boon, who has exceeded our expectations.

120-84 over #10 Baylor. We couldn't miss in this game, shooting 63.1%, 15-25 on threes. 25, 5, 6 for Boon, 17, 6, 6 for Holl, 14, 7, 4 for Center Du Moca. +17 RBs.

Moca strained a knee and is out for about a week.

The Bai are assimilating. They want to stay with us. Their ship, like ours, was on a voyage of discovery, a one way trip away from their home planet. They had been exploring for only 7 years when for some unknown reason there was an explosion in the engine room which caused damage too extensive to repair.

As stated, 287 of them are now onboard. They numbered 509 before the explosion.

They were able to rescue some of their most important computers so we are comparing notes with them, and looking through what they have observed in their travels. They are doing the same regarding our travels.

12/25: 2-2 in our last 4. Injuries played a part.

We lost at home to #8 Wisconsin, 68-75. We really missed Moca, especially late, as we blew an 11 point lead. Leti, who filled in for Moca, was very good on O, 17, 10, but 9 turnovers and very poor D. PG Ted Holl fouled out.

We beat #9 San Diego ST here, 82-73, still without Moca. 19, 8 for Ausk, 12, 8 for Leti.

Jon Reva hurt his shoulder and will miss our next game but Moca is back.

76-84 at #24 Kansas. We faded late, mainly due to foul trouble. Toon and Boon both fouled out, and Moca had 4. We shot 33.3% to 50%. 15, 9, 5 for Holl.

Our last pre-conf game was a win at #19 UCLA, 81-72. 24, 8, 5 for Holl, 14, 16, 3 for Toon. We shot poorly again though, 37.5%.

It feels like we really have not yet come together as a team.

We end pre-conf play at 10-2, #2, NET #3.

+16.5 PPG, #1 in scoring. +8.8 RBs, #3 in rebounds. -4.8 TOs, but we're turning it over too often. +5.5 assists.

Holl leads us with 15.5, 6.3 assists. All 5 starters average 10.4 or more. Our 3 guards are 1, 2, and 3. Ket Toon leads us with 8.9 RBs and Holl, a real all around player, is 2nd with 6.6.

We are reworking jobs and work schedules as we assimilate the Bai. They are a great asset to us and bring us some skills we were missing.

1/8: 3-1 in our first 4 conference games.

82-79 at #16 North Carolina. They led most of the way, by as many as 19. We came battling back late and won it on Miah Boon's three with less than a second to play.

21, 1, 3 for Boon, 17, 4 for Ausk, 7, 12, 7, 3 for Holl, 12, 8 for Moca.

In another close one we beat Kona 78-72 here. We were down 3 at the half, down 8 early in the 2nd. 11, 8, 8 for Holl, 15 for Reva, 11, 0, 5, 3 for Boon.

83-61 over FL ST here. 17, 11 for Moca, 23, 4 for Boon. +17 RBs.

Then we lost at UConn, 62-77. We were never in this one. 20 for Boon. They dominated us inside.

The Bai love the holos and spend all the time they can there. They also love our dining halls.

1/19: 3-1 in our latest 4.

85-88 at NC ST. 24 lead changes, 12 ties, and we lost it on a last second three. They went to the line 30 times, we went 13, and that was the difference. 23, 6, 6, 3 for Holl, 16, 8, 4, 3 for Ausk.

86-75 over North Carolina at home. Up only 2 at the half. 23, 2, 3 for Boon, 11, 7, 9 for Holl, 9, 15 for Toon. 7 TOs and we were VERY strong inside- +19 on 2nd chances.

A romp in the rematch with UConn here, 105-66. 32, 3 for Ausk, 16, 3, 8 for Holl, very good bench play. +24 on 2nd chances, only 3 TOs.

80-54 over GA Tech here. 27, 6 for Ausk, 16, 2, 3, 5 for Boon. The refs were awful, as they usually are, but we overcame it.

2/2: 4-0 in our latest 4.

90-79 at Pitt. 24, 5, 6 for sub guard Jon Reva, 15, 5 for Holl. 11 TOs.

81-62 at Syracuse. 20, 10, 5 for Holl, 17, 4 for Ausk. +18 in the paint.

79-56 over NC ST here. 21, 2, 2, 4 for Boon, 14, 6, 3 for Holl. +14 in the paint, 13 fewer TOs.

A close one at Boston College, 69-63. We led all the way but they got it to 2 twice late. 20, 4, 3, 4 for Holl. They were scrappy.

We're 20-4, 10-2, alone in 2nd in the ACC, 2 back of 1st, 1 up on 3rd. #3, NET #3.

Ted Holl is #11 on the Norton list. He's very good but in a quiet sort of way. That probably hurts him with the voters.

“Jed, what's going on with food production?”

“Captain, I'm guessing you saw my report. There's a problem in grains. Production is down nearly 10% and no one can seem to tell me why. We're investigating, going through their entire operation.”

2/16: 4 more wins.

76-56 over Miami here; we led all the way. 19, 4, 8 for Holl, 17, 6, 3, 3 blocks for Moca, 14, 4, 4, 5 for Boon. 8 TOs.

69-58 over VA Tech here at home. We were down 2 at the half and they stayed close until the final few minutes. 13, 6, 4, 3 for Ausk, 17, 4 for Moca.
5 TOs to 26.

A real barn burner, 64-61 at Wake Forest. We led most of the time but it stayed close all the way. They had a chance to tie it at the end but missed an open three. 14, 11 for Toon, 15, 3, 4 for Boon. 12 fewer TOs.

86-77 at FL ST. They scored the last 7 in garbage time so the game wasn't as close as the final score would indicate. 19, 8, 2, 4 for Ausk, 15, 7, 8 for Holl. We were better inside.

With 4 left to play we're 24-4, 14-2. Alone in 2nd, 2 back of #1 Duke, 2 up on #7 Louisville. 4 or more up on the rest. #3, NET #3.

Holl is #12 on the Norton list.

“Still no improvement in grains?”

“It's actually getting worse, Captain. It's not a crisis but it's heading that way if they can't figure out what's wrong.”

“Keep me informed.”

3/4: We beat #1 ranked Duke 90-85 here in a big upset. They led by as many as 17 early, and by 7 at the half. 19, 15, 5 for Holl, 19 for Boon, so our guards really stepped up.

Unfortunately, PF Ket Toon sprained his ankle and will miss our last 3 regular season games. Rui Leti will start.

We beat Pitt, 79-60, at home. We led all the way. 11, 9, 7 for Holl, 11, 10 for sub Jam Wats. 14 fewer TOs. 62-71 at #7 Louisville. With Toon out we didn't have enough weapons. 21 for Ausk, 13, 11 for Leti, 10, 12 for Moca, but our guards were out played.

We ended the regular season with a really close 78-76 win at Miami, on a last second three by Ted Holl. That was not the shot we wanted but Holl saw that nothing we actually did want was open so he took the 22 footer and it went in.

22, 4, 4, 3 for Ausk, 13, 11, 8 for Holl.

Toon will be back at 100% for the post season.

3/5: We lose two excellent players to the draft, Ted Holl and Ket Toon. We only see one recruit, a PG, that we're interested in. We offer to him.

We end the regular season at 27-5, 17-3, alone in 2nd place in the ACC. #3 NET #3.

+12.7 PPG, #1 in scoring. +5.3 RBs, -6.9 TOs.

Boon leads us with 13.8, Ausk gets 13.6, Holl gets 13.0. Toon leads in RBs with 7.5, and Holl gets 6.9. Holl gets 6.2 assists.

3/9: We play #10 seed Kona, 18-13, 9-11, in the quarter finals. We beat them by only 6 at our place. On paper we're much better.

3/10: Slow paced game early on. Up 9 after 10. 42-33 at the half. 17, 10, 3 for Holl, who is smoking! Up 9 with 10 to play.

84-68. We led for the last 35 minutes. Terrific game for Holl, 27, 20, 3. 18, 9 for Toon. 8 TOs.

3/11: #3 seed, #5 ranked Louisville, 25-7, 14-6, in the semifinals. They won by 9 there last week. They are very good outside. This looks like a toss up. Whichever team is more “on” will win, or a break will decide it.

Game time: We take the lead early but it's close. Down 2 after 10. 35-31 at halftime. 11 for Moca, 10 for Ausk. We have an edge inside and their C has 3 fouls. Upo 3 with 10 left; hell of a game!

75-72, but we were in charge. They hit a last second three to make it seem closer than it was. Great game though.

15, 10, 4 blocks for Moca, 14, 4 for Ausk. +14 RBs, +10 down low.

“What's going on in food production, Jed?”

“Well Mick, there's a problem with grain production. We're working on it.”

“Seem to be some limited choices in the dining halls.”

“There's plenty of food, Mick. No concerns on that score, but yes, until we figure this out choices will be a little more limited than what we're used to.”

3/12: We face #1 ranked, #1 seed Duke, 33-1, 10-1, for the title. We're the only team to beat them, by 5 at our place. It was a high scoring game. We won it at the line. Their SF had a huge game, 36 and 9. They are a heavy favorite, but we beat them once, so let's see what happens!

Game time: They lead early on but it's close. Down 4 after 10. Their SF, Riviere is killing us. 34-51 at the half after they go on a big run. Riviere has 31 at halftime. Toon has 3 fouls, as does his man. We're shooting 29.4% to 51.4% and that's the difference. We can't keep up with them early in the 2nd.

76-99. Not our night. Riviere wound up with 39 and 11 and their SG had 20, 8, 4, 3. We didn't defend at all well.
