Author’s note: When I started this one I thought I had a recipe for something interesting. Kip and Von would add enough back story to do that. Alas, it’s boring as hell.

So I’m ending it. If anyone wants me to do a 1-2 page wrap up showing how it winds up I will, but only if I get a request.

I’m starting a new one set in space. Hopefully it will be more interesting.

Congratulatons on another long-term dynasty. Sure a quick close out about Jess and Kip would be good.

What I had in mind when I started was Kip going part time at age 70, and continuing to coach part time until he was 83.

When Jess was 53 and Von was 45 she contracted breast cancer and died. The youngest kid was a senior in high school.

Jess and Von had planned to retire the following year and travel the country and the world but with her dying Jess just kept coaching. He was depressed and never fully got over her death. Never dated again.

The kids grew up and Emma became a PCP, Sean became and actor, and Laura played hoops at UConn and then the WNBA.

Sean continued to win championships and when he finally did retire at age 77, after 55 years as a head coach, he had 20 national titles.
