A New Tomorrow

12/3: 85-65 over #18 Wichita ST here. They stayed right with us for 30 minutes. Then we finally put a run together. 26, 7 for Cann, who continues to play exceptionally well; he held his man to 6. 20, 6, 3 for Guri.

12/7: 83-45 over New Mexico ST here. Never a game. 25, 11, 5 for Cann, 19, 6, 3 for Guri. These two have been very consistent scorers. +16 RBs.

We dropped to #2 in the latest ratings, behind Kansas. Strength of schedule, I guess.

An incident on Domus. Someone decided to eat one of the lovely fruits on a tree. She died... in agony...

We have given clear and frequently repeated warnings about eating anything on the planet and have avoided doing so. I suppose it isn't possible to prevent this sort of thing but what a needless loss of life.

It is a mystery though, why, given that the water is perfectly potable and we drink it, use it in cooking, cleaning... that we can't eat the vegetation. Of course it may simply be that the victim chose a poisonous fruit. A visitor from Earth could eat the wrong kind of mushroom and conclude that all plant life on Earth is poisonous.

Our scientists have been testing plant life of many, many varieties to see about allergies and other reactions, and there have been none. The point is to do exhaustive testing in advance of tasting these plants. The fruit in question had not been tested. The tree was at some distance from our base.

12/10: 84-43 over Providence. This was almost embarrassing it was so easy. 35, 15 for Cann. An unbelievable +34 RBs. 10 TOs.

12/14: 80-58 over #11 Minnesota. 29, 9, 4 for Cann, 21, 5 for Howe in a game we dominated. 11 TOs.

We're just rolling over people. Our closest game has been a 14 point win. And we're playing good teams.

12/17: 75-49 over #17 Georgetown, who we beat for the Coaches Classic title. 32, 14 for Cann, who we think is the best player in the country. +12 RBs, 13 TOs.

We're #1 again.

On the road with Creighton next.

12/21: 71-81. I suppose the bubble had to burst. We led big early and by 8 at the half, but the wheels fell off in the 2nd, especially on D; we gave up 47. 39, 9 for Cann but no one else did much. And it was D that did us in, this was the most points we've given up all season. Foul trouble didn't help, especially in the back court; Muda fouled out and Guri had 4.

A week off to fix things before we face old rival UNLV, #14, at our place in the pre-conf finale.

12/28: 108-74. This team always gave us trouble in the MVC, but not tonight! 64-31 at the half. An amazing 48 and 12 for Cann. 12, 10 for Stap, 14 for Guri. +22 RBs, 10 TOs.

Headed for our first season of PAC 12 play.

The rainy season started yesterday down on Domus. It's a few days before it began last year, but only a few. We feel that we prepared well, and the people planetside have made the necessary adjustments.

1/4/2185: 82-63 over Washington here. 31, 11 for Cann, 19 each for Stap and Guri, 14 assists for Muda. Only 7 TOs.

1/7: 94-61 at Stanford. Easy road win. 22, 10 for Cann, 26 for Guri, 17, 11 for Stap, 14, 8 for Howe. +17 RBs.

Huge storm last night. I have to call it a hurricane. Winds in the hurricane range, driving rain, lasted from about 11:30 pm until about 10:30 this morning. Took the roof off of building 4, threw rocks and branches through a few windows in building 2. No injuries because everyone stayed inside but there will be lots of repairs and cleanup to be done.

The people living in building 4 have been relocated temporarily to empty units in our other buildings.

We never got a storm of this magnitude last year. Now we know they are possible. It will be a few years before we have any idea of how frequently we can expect them.

We will now prioritize setting up weather prediction instruments, and will use the hub as a weather satellite to assist with this. We just didn't think it would be
necessary. But we now know that it is. We never had a full blown blizzard last winter but we know feel that that too is a possibility so weather forecasting is needed.

1/11: 85-71 over #25 Arizona ST here. 54-31 at the half and the final score was as close as they got. 25, 11 for Cann, 24 for Guri, 16, 16, 4 for Stap. +15 RBs, 12 TOs.

1/14: 86-64 at Oregon ST. 33 for Guri, 15 each for Howe and Stap. They doubled Cann so we found the open man.

3 top 15 teams in the next 4 games.

We have rudimentary weather forecasting equipment in place on planet and on the hub.

1/18: 66-35 over #14 Arizona here. Unbelievable D. They shot 26%. 20, 14 for Cann.

1/21: 74-66 at #9 UCLA. Big win! 20 lead changes, 12 ties. We took charge during the last three minutes. 24, 11 for Cann, 16 for Guri. Good D down the stretch.

BIG storm coming according to our forecasting equipment. About a day to a day and a half away. Workers are rushing to finish the repairs to the roof on building 4. The windows in bulding 2 are back in place. Storms generally come for the West here, so reinforcements are being put up on all West facing windows.

1/23: HUGE hurricane. Fierce winds and torrential rains. No major damage to buildings. Despite the reinforcements to windows several were broken by debris hurled into them at very high speeds. No casualties, no roofs blown off. Debris is everywhere and lots of trees are down.

We expect torrential rains and high winds during the rainy season, but we had not expected hurricanes. Now we know.

1/25: 85-49 over Southern Cal. 26, 11 for Cann, 27 for Guri. 50 RBs, 11 TOs.

The big one is next, #3 Utah, 17-3, 5-2, at our place.

1/28: 85-79. It was a game! They led by 9 early. We got it to 4 at the half. The 2nd half went back and forth, but every time they threatened to catch us either Cann or
Guri made a basket. 24, 9 for Cann, 24 for Guri. +7 TOs.

2 games up on Arizona, 3 or more on the rest.

Mike Cann is #1 on the Norton list.

2/1: 69-63 at Washington. They gave us a scare. It was tied with 1:01 to play. We scored the last 6 points. 26, 12 for Cann, 30, 4, 2 for Guri. They are an awesome 1, 2 punch. But we didn't play well tonight.

After the game I gave a short, loud lecture regarding taking any team lightly.

Still 2 up on Arizona, 3 or more on the rest at the halfway point in PAC-12 play. We're 22-1, 9-0, #2, RPI #1. +21.7 PPG, +13.8 RBs, -1.0 RBs (13.2). Mike Cann leads the nation in scoring with 26.3, and Avg Guri is #15 with 17.9. Hili Muda is #2 in the country with 7.1 assists. Cann is #8 in RBs.

If last year is any indication we have about a month left of this awful weather. It gets depressing to be stuck inside most days as the rains pour down and the winds blow.

2/4: 62-57 at California. Good team. They gave us a battle. 20, 11 for Cann, 19 for Guri. +14 RBs.

Back to #1 in the ratings.

2/8: 82-70 over Colorado here. We led all the way. 29, 6 for Cann, 18, 5, 4 for Stap. +17 RBs.

8 building now completed. We decide to send down another 96.

2/11: 77-48 at Oregon. We were all over them. 26, 11, 4 for Cann, 15, 9, 4 for Stap. +23 RBs.

Mike Cann is still #1 on the Norton list.

Our lead in the PAC-12 is now 3 games, with 6 to play.

Another hurricane coming. We batten down.

2/13: The hurricane was bad, but not as bad as the biggest one that hit. Minor damage to several buildings.

2/15: 88-47 over Stanford here at home. 41, 10 for Cann, 14, 9 for Stap. +30 RBs.

2/18: 75-62 at #20 Arizona ST. Great road win over a very good team! We led all the way. 19, 11 for Cann, 16, 11 for Howe, 14, 6, 3 for Guri. +18 RBs.

The downpours continue. If last year is any indication there will be about two more weeks of this. It can't end soon enough.

2/22: 67-40 over Oregon ST here. 36-15 at the half. 20, 13 for Cann, 14, 4, 8 for Guri. +19 RBs.

4 game lead with 3 to play so we have clinched the PAC-12 regular season. We moved up in order to be in a more competitive conference and we're dominating it.

2/25: 62-69 at #10 Arizona, our first conference loss. They did to us what we've done to so many opponents. They jumped out to a big early lead and held on. They were up by 16 at the half and hit a three to open the 2nd. We chipped away for the rest of the night but never got closer than 4. 26 TOs, and way too many fouls.

2/27: A tragedy today. A craft bringing a dozen people down to the planet somehow crashed. All aboard were killed. Our people are investigating to see whether there was some sort of mechanical failure or whether it was pilot error. The rains were heavy and the winds were high, which was definitely a factor, but our pilots are trained to deal with those things, and this pilot was very experienced.

3/1: 79-51 over #5 UCLA here. Great win! 40, 15 for Cann, who was terrific. +28 RBs.

3/4: 84-78 at Southern Cal to end the regular season. They led by 11 at the half but we really got it together in the 2nd half. 22, 8 for Cann, 14, 7 for Howe. But 25 TOs.

We end the regular season 30-2, 17-1, 3 games up in conf. #1, RPI #1. +20.4 PPG, +15.2 RBs (#1), +0.3 TOs- our only real weakness, 15.0.

Cann leads the nation in scoring with 26.1, and he's #7 in RBs with 10.6, so he averages a double double. 1st in Player efficiency, 1st in double doubles with 22 in 32 games. He's going pro but we expected that and we wish him well.

No rain yesterday, no rain today. It looks like the rainy season is mercifully over.

3/9: We play #9 seed Colorado, 13-19, 6-12 in the 1st round. Beat them by 12 at our place.

3/10: 90-74. They hung in for a long time. 30, 11, 6 for Cann, 26, 9 for Stap, 19, 4, 6 for Guri. +12 RBs, 10 TOs.

#4 seed, #10 ranked Utah, 24-8, 11-7, in the semis. We won by only 6 at our place.

3/11: 83-65. We played really well tonight. 37, 9 for Cann, 12, 14 for Stap. +16 RBs.

#2 seed, #6 ranked Arizona, 25-8, 14-4, for the title. We won by 31 at our place but lost by 7 there.

3/12: 60-56. We had to work for this one. Never more than a 5 point gap. We won it in the final 30 seconds. We got it with 30 seconds left and the score tied. We got it to Cann, who was fouled in the act with 7 seconds to go. He hit both. We're up by 2. They get it, come down, take a quick shot. It misses. Cann gets the RB and they foul him immediately. He hits both ends of a 1 and 1. They bring it down and miss a three. 31, 7 for Cann. +11 RBs. We survived a dismal 27 TOs.

We're going for the national title but we won't get it if we can't hang onto the ball.

The weather here is absolutely perfect for about 8 months of the year, as it is right now. But it certainly is dismal for the other 4.

3/13: #1 East, #1 overall, which makes us the favorite to win it all. Having said that, the fav hardly ever actually does win it all.

3/14: We play #16 Norfolk ST, 18-16 first.

3/16: 73-50. It was a walk in the park. I played my subs a lot in the second half so we'll be well rested for round 2. 29, 14 for Cann, 17, 3, 4 for Guri. +16 RBs, but 16 TOs.

#8 seed LSU, 22-11, in Round 2.

3/18: 65-47. Great D! 12, 13 for Cann but a team effort on O and D. +11 RBs but 17 TOs.

The report on the landing craft crash came in today. We don't have the kind of sophisticated equipment that would specifically determine the cause of this tragedy but it appears to have been pilot error. Everything that is broken on the craft seems to have been broken BY the crash. Sad that this happened.

#4 seed, #13 ranked Minnesota in the Sweet Sixteen. They're 29-7. We crushed them by 22 at our place in December.

3/23: 87-86. We escaped, but whatever it takes to advance! This was close all the way. We played the last 2 1/2 minutes without Stap and Guri, who had both fouled out. Cann scored our last 7 points despite being double teamed. He won it with a buzzer beating three. The guy is amazing! He wound up with 29, 7, 3. Howe had 14, 12, Guri 16, 4. +12 RBs, and interestingly enough only 12 TOs.

Our PAC-12 nemesis, #2 seed, #8 ranked Arizona, 28-9, in the Elite Eight. I truly would not have wished to play them again, but here we are. In our other three meetings it was their back court vs. our front court. We expect that again. We are only favored by 1/2 point.

3/25: 75-57! WOOOOO! It was close for about 30 minutes. Then Cann took over- 35, 11. He can really dominate. 16, 4, 7 for Guri. +9 RBs, 16 TOs.

We return to the Final Four for the 2nd straight season. We play #2 ranked Kansas, 36-2. We had better come to play! They have lots of weapons.

4/1: 74-79. Damn! We led by 7 early, 6 at the half. But the refs called a ridiculous 49 fouls. Our entire front court played most of the 2nd half in foul trouble. In a game this big the refs have no business taking it over like this. Both teams were playing hard but they were not playing dirty. This is the kind of thing that spoils college basketball. I'm not saying the refs beat us, they didn't. I AM saying that they need to be more judicious. 22, 7 for Cann, in his last game with us, 21 for Guri. 16 TOs, but they had 12 so it wasn't a huge factor; didn't help, of course.

Frankly, I'll never have a better chance of winning it all here. I'm losing only Cann, but that is a HUGE loss. If an elite program comes calling I just might leave.

4/3: Kansas is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Mike Cann wins the Norton Award and is WS POY, 1st team All American. I am national COY. In conf, Cann is POY and 1st team, along with Kam Stap. Avg
Guri is only 2nd team, which upsets me. I get Conf COY.

4/9: I can't quite get myself to leave. We're stronger than any of the teams who showed interest.

4/16: Crap! Lost my #2 assistant. Hired a good #2.

4/23: I ask for $.

Got $10,000.

37-3, Final Four, but I felt like we should have won it all. Try again next season. Overall, after 8 years as a head coach, 5 of them here, I'm 227-56, .802.

The council has decided that we'll go through one more winter as we are and then make a huge move to get everyone on planet, starting in September, assuming that all continues to go well. It seems rather remarkable that, aside from the weather, there really have been no surprises. Yes, we lost someone who foolishly ate a piece of native fruit, but that was human error. Our plant scientists had certainly warned about that sort of thing.
In regard to native plants, human trials of some foods are going to begin shortly. All tests, and they have been exhaustive, indicate that no harm should come from eating several of the plants. If this holds up it will help tremendously. While we have already planted lots of our veggies in the native soil, if the native plants can be digested safely, and if they provide the nutrients we need, that would be a much easier way to go. Hopefully there will eventually be a combination of native foods with the foods we brought. Time will tell.

5/1: #6 recruiting class. Preseason #15.

6/5: Starting PG Hili Muda transfers out. There was never a single indication that he was unhappy.

The transfer pool is weak. We'll have 6 scholarships to fill.

6/26: 6 scholarships.

7/3: Happy winter. Below 10C and snowing.

7/21: Enormous amounts of snow. There are feet of it piled up. Given the regular, strong winds it's hard to gauge how much has fallen but it has snowed every day for more than two weeks. Our wind powered heating systems are keeping up, barely. It's warm enough to keep us going but it's not toasty and people are wearing layers of clothing.

8/7: Forward Ed Erds is #38, Guard Avg Guri #46 on the Norton list. No idea why Kam Stap isn't on the list.

8/21: We offer to a PG, 2 SGs, 2 PFs, and a C.

The snow has been near constant for more than six weeks. It has been a real challenge for people to function. Many are able to work in the building they live in. For those who can't it is a real challenge to go from building to building. We haven't lost anyone but there have been a few who needed rescuing. Anyone who goes outside must carry a communication device, just in case. We have synths to do the snow clearing near entrances and between buildings. A few have broken down on the coldest, windiest days.

9/5: No snow for two days and the temps are milder. Is it over?

9/18: We get 3, lose 2. We get a PF, #16, an SG, #20, and a C, #21.

Coaches Classic and a competitive schedule.

Winter is over and the weather is beautiful. Hundreds of crews have been brought down to clear land and then to build our settlement. Some will stay down here but others will need to be sent up to the hub each night. Not enough units to house all the workers.

9/25: We get an SG, #36, and lose 2.

10/2: We get a PF, #42. Still chasing a PG.

First day of practice. We're going to be good. As good as last season? Too soon to say.

Construction continues.

10/9: We lose a PG.

10/16: We lose the last PG on our list. We'll try again in the spring but we may bank this scholarship.

11/12: We start at the Coaches Classic tomorrow with Southwest Missouri ST, #10. We're the #7 seed.

11/13: 86-71. 25, 6 for frosh forward Ed Erds, 16, 4, 4 for guard Avg Guri.+11 RBs but our usual problem, 19 TOs.

#2 seed, #11 ranked Rider in round 2.

11/15: 83-66. 20, 12 for Kam Stap, 24 for Guri, 16, 5, 4 for frosh PG Chas Ruet. Our forwards were in foul trouble all night and neither did much. +13 RBs, 14 TOs.

#6 seed UNLV in the semis. Our old rival.

11/17: 76-56 and we're in the title game. 16, 8 for Erds, 15, 4 for Stap. 14 TOs.

(NOTE: I have Injuries set low, at 20%. My team has yet to have a single injury in the 9 years of this dynasty.)

#1 seed, #1 nationally ranked Duke for the title. On paper we're in trouble and they are a heavy favorite. Given that it's November and we start two freshmen...

11/19: 79-63 and the title! HUGE win! We jumped out to an early lead and stretched it to as many as 20 in the second half. We never trailed after the opening minute of the game. 20, 12 for Stap, 21 for Guri, 12, 8 for Erds. We easily beat #1 in the country.

11/20: #3 in today's poll.

11/23: 90-59 over #10 Georgetown here. I guess we're for real. 24, 4 for Erds, 15, 6, 4 for Stap. Only 9 TOs.

Yesterday they started serving veggies native to the planet in the cafeterias. No one has become ill.

11/26: 79-51 over Bowling Green ST here. 14, 8 for Stap, 15, 3, 4 for Guri, 14 for Ruet. +17 RBs, 13 TOs.

11/30: 77-64 at DePaul. 16, 15 for Stap, 22, 4 for Guri, 18, 5 for Rust. Erds has been doubled for the last two games and his numbers are down. It's not bothering us; we're finding the open man. +19 RBs, 14 TOs.

Our first road game. The tourney was on a neutral court, of course.

7-0, #3 ranked.

Mixed reaction to the native veggies. Most people like them but a few don't and a small percent won't eat them at all, or even try them. Some of the veggies are used like lettuces in salads, some are cooked and are kind of like brussels sprouts, and some are used as meat substitutes, the way we use soy, beets, and other veggies. Still no harm to anyone.

12/3: 76-59 over Maryland here. This MD team is struggling. 22, 5 for Erds, 19, 5, 4 for Guri. +24 RBs.

12/7: 78-51 over Oklahoma A & M here. A breeze, 47-22 at the half. 9 for Guri, balanced scoring after that. +19 RBs, 9 TOs.

People eating the native veggies are reporting some minor digestive issues, mostly constipation.

12/10: 57-74 at #10 Alabama. Not our night. We shot 29.3%. Some of it was good D but we missed some open shots. We were a dismal 8-40 in the 2nd half.

#1 Duke at our place next. Maybe we were looking ahead.

12/14: 71-78. We had a 12 point lead early. It was 8 at the half. Then the whistles started blowing. 28 fouls called against us, 16 against them. I got tossed for the first time in my career, when I picked up my 2nd T with 1:02 left. Both of my starting guards fouled out, and Stap only played 21 minutes due to fouls. Terrible officiating. As I say repeatedly, inconsistent, sloppy officiating is the bane of college basketball. From what I've read it always has been.

12/17: 79-46 at Albany. Nice to break the 2 game losing streak. 18 for Guri. 6 others had between 6 and 12. 6 TOs.

12/21: 79-57 at Kansas ST. They had only one loss before this one. 23, 9 for Erds, 14 RBs for Howe. +21 RBs, 10 TOs.

A week off before our last pre-conf game at Miami.

Construction is moving rapidly with hundreds of crews on the job. It only started last week. Before that crews of humans and synths were clearing land, LOTS of land.

Crews are hurrying to enclose as many buildings as possible before the rainy season begins.

12/28: 61-71 at Miami. We blew a 16 point lead. Fouls were a factor and I got T'd up. But we shot only 32.8%. Not happy.

We close the pre-conf season at 11-3, ranked #8. +14.3 PPG, +10.3 RBs, -3.2 TOs (12.9, which is great for us). Guri leads us with 15.0 PPG. Stap leads in RBs with 9.1.

We head for PAC-12 play, and for the rainy season.

1/4/2186: 82-71 at Washington to start PAC-12 play. 18 each for Howe and Ruet, who are not our usual scorers.

There is still some construction going on inside buildings that have been enclosed, but no start ups with the heavy rains and winds.

We are doing lots of shuttling people up and down for many reasons. As I mentioned, not enough units on Domus for all of the people who are working down there. We're also shuttling people up for basketball games. Medical personnel are going back and forth. Some stats people, including me make the trip from time to time...

1/7: 88-59 over Stanford here. All 5 starters had 10 or more. Good D. +19 RBs.

1/11: 76-67 at Arizona ST. They're a pretty good team. Balanced scoring again. PG Chas Ruet is dishing really well.

14-3, 3-0, #7, RPI #5.

Ah the rainy season. As in winter it's miserable to go outdoors for any reason. I had to be on planet yesterday, and I had to travel building to building to talk to my stats people. There is simply no garment that keeps one dry during these torrential rains. Those of us who go building to building keep a set of dry clothes in a bag and change into them at every destination, then put the wet ones back on to go to the next building. Uncomfortable as hell but better than being wet all day. Still, we're all on board with making a home here.

And while there is occasional flooding, it's temporary. The rain water mostly washes into rivers, lakes, and oceans. The runoff is away from our settlement. Builders are being really careful about tight foundations though. Buildings are built on a foot high platform and there are no basements.

1/14: 67-48 over Oregon ST. Great D. 15, 15 for Stap. +16 RBs.

1/18: 73-67 at #24 Arizona. Great road win. We actually dominated them, leading by as many as 23. The final score was as close as they got in the 2nd half. 24, 12 for Erds, 16, 2, 6 for Guri. +18 RBs, 13 TOs.

1/21: 78-52 over UCLA. They're not having a great season. 37-13 at the half- 13! 27, 1, 7 for Ruet, 9 and 21 for Stap. +27 RBs.

It can be challenging to hold practice during this time of transition. Truth is we practice when we can and more often than not one or two players are absent due to work commitments or because they're on planet. We'll reach a tipping point when we're more on planet than on the hub, but that's still down the line. And yes, we are building basketball courts, LOTS of them. They're not in every building but they are in many buildings.

1/25: 79-60 at Southern Cal. 19, 8 for Erds, 16, 7 for Howe. 13 RBs for Stap. +18 RBs.

Biggest challenge of the PAC-12 schedule next, at #10 Utah.

1/28: 53-64. We just couldn't get the O going. We shot 30.6%. 18 TOs didn't help. They shut down our front court (5-22).

In a 3 way tie for 1st.

Ed Erds is #24, Avg Guri #27 on the Norton list.

We're banking that last scholarship. No one we want is still available.

2/1: 89-75 over Washington on our court. Balanced scoring again, 7 players with between 9 and 15 points. 10 TOs.

19-4, 8-1, #5, RPI #2, in a 3 way tie for 1st with #10 Utah and #25 UCLA. Everyone else is out of it. The schedule is favorable, only one tough road game left.

The rains continue.

2/4: 84-74 in OT over California here. They gave us all we wanted. We were out rebounded 33-40. That's always a sign of trouble and it was tonight. They opened the
2nd half with a 12-0 run to take a 13 point lead and we played catch up for the rest of regulation, only catching them on Kam Stap's thunder dunk with less than a second to go. That seemed to really get us going and we dominated the OT, leading by as many as 12. 20, 6 for Erds, 19, 6 for Guri, 10, 10, 4 with 6 steals for Stap. 11 TOs; they had 21.

No rain yesterday, no rain today. Back to beautiful weather.

2/8: 68-65 over a very good Colorado team there. They led by 13 early. We got it to 5 at the half and slowly got to where we needed to be, but we never led by more than three. They missed an open three at the end. 18, 16, 4 for Stap, 18 for Guri. +12 RBs.

UCLA beat Utah so it's a 2 way tie with 7 to play. Still a horse race.

Life on the hub hasn't changed much. There are about 500 people living on Domus now. That doesn't sound like much when you consider that there are 35 ships on the hub with about 10,000 people on each of them, and it isn't. There will come a time when things are different but it's not really here yet.

The builders are following the architects' plans and construction is BOOMING. There are lots of residence halls being built. All of them have cafeterias, areas reserved for holos which will be in place before too much longer in the occupied buildings, and other areas as needed. We don't need areas for crop growth in the buildings, of course. And sewage, other waste disposal, water availability and such are all located in their own areas. We're also building what amount to shops for the procurement of goods and services. Recreational areas will still be incorporated within the holos, but we are building a few very large facilities that seat 10,000 or so. We expect there will be a need for them.

I spoke of "procurement of goods." While there is, as there always has been, a small group advocating for a capitalist system, the overwhelming majority favor a moneyless system sort of on the basis of, from each according to their abilities and capabilities, and to each, according to their needs. Housing is still on an equitable basis for all. Basic living units are small, though considerably larger than on the hub. No one will live in a mansion, or even a large separate home. Again, the overwhelming majority favor this system. The units on Domus are comfortable and they feel spacious in comparison to how we lived on the hub.

There is some talk of "restaurants," shops where people can dine away from the cafeteria. It's just talk at this stage.

2/11: 66-37 over Oregon. Amazing D! 50-11 at the half, which is kind of mind boggling. 18 for Guri.

Utah lost again so they're 2 back of UCLA and us.

We're now #3, RPI #2. 22-4, 11-1.

2/15: 94-76 at Stanford. 56-27 at the half. 22 for Guri, 15, 2, 11 for Ruet. 8 TOs.

UCLA lost so we're alone in 1st place.

Accident on a construction site. Five workers were on a scaffold when it collapsed. They were in a building with a very high ceiling. They were all killed, as was a worker who just happened to be passing by when the scaffold fell on him.

This kind of thing is probably unavoidable but we are re-examining all of our safety procedures.

2/18: 84-56 over Arizona ST here. 23, 13 for Guri, 17, 9 for Erds, 15, 8, 8 for Stap. +18 RBs, 6 TOs.

2/22: 60-47 at Oregon ST. Tied at the half. We couldn;t get it going in the first half, only 25 points. We woke up in the 2nd. Good D all night long. +13 RBs.

2/25: 81-51 over Arizona here. We led all the way. 17, 12 for Stap, 19, 3, 6 for Ruet, 12, 12 for Erds. +20 RBs.

At #15 UCLA next in a game that will likely determine who finishes in 1st place. Only 2 to play.

Buildings providing housing are three stories tall and have 10 units on the first floor, 20 each on the 2nd and 3rd floors. This is because of the dining area on the 1st floor. There will be holo areas on each floor. The buildings are designed NOT to all look alike. Construction is moving at an amazing pace, again, with several hundred crews at work. Three stories to eliminate the need for elevators. Anyone with mobility issues will live on the first floor.

3/1: 76-67 and the regular season title! 33-32 at the half. Their outside shooting kept them in the game. In the 2nd half our 1, 2, 3 all stepped up their D and all started hitting shots and that turned the tide. 19,11 for Stap, 17 for Guri. Ruet had 13, 6, and 7 but he had 13 TOs- awful! We had 26. +21 RBs helped.

3/4: 87-73 vs. Southern Cal here. 56-35 at the half. 16, 11, 4 for Stap, 19, 7, 3 for Guri, 18, 3, 6 for Ruet. 9 TOs.

Chas Ruet declares for the draft.

We end the regular season at 28-4, 17-1, #3, RPI #2. 3 games up on UCLA and Utah, 7 or more on the rest. +14.6 PPG, +11.2 RBs, -2.6 TOs, our best ever. We still commit too many TOs, but we create 16.2 per game. Avg Guri leads us with 15. 1 PPG. Chas Ruet gets 5.0 assists. Kam Stap snags 10.2 RBs.

I'm considering doing a couple more seasons here at San Diego ST then starting over at a small school. Looking for a new challenge. We'll see. I'd like to get a title here and with the recruiting class coming in that could happen. It could happen this year, of course, we're #3 in the country.
