Murray McLean 6-4 Sr Taking over at point guard. He should score a lot of points for us, Good passer, great rebounder for a PG.
BJ Walters 6-6 Sr SG he is an excellent outside shooter. Good from the line. avg passing and handling. good rebounder. good thief
TJ Alexander 6-8 So TJ returns as our starting SF this year.Hes an avg shooter. Good rebounder and our best defender.
Scott McNight 6-6 So starting PF. He is our most improved player.Below avg shooter. Good rebounder good shot blocker and stealer
William Guinn 6-8 Jr good scorer. above avg rebounder above avg def

VMI Keydets @ UMES Hawks Nov 16, 2020

VMI comes to town. Opening game for both clubs. We get off to a hot start and never look back. We led 40-28 at half and end the game with a 84-70 victory. We played as a team with 5 players in double figures. It was a good start to the season.

BJ Walters SG was player of the game. He had 20 pts 3 asts 2 rebs 2 stls. He was lighting them up hitting 5 of 9 3s. Guinn our C added 11 pts and 8 rebs.

UMES Hawks 1-0 @ Navy Midshipmen 0-1 Nov 19, 2020

We take on Navy for our first road game.Navy jumped out to a big lead. They led 54-34 at half. We couldnt get any closer in the second. They won 98-75. We shot well and handled the ball ok. The big problem was second chance points. They had 14 we had 0. We only got 4 offensive rebs the entire game. We were -16 on rebs.

Murray McLean our PG did all he could. He scored 28 pts hitting 8 of 15 3s. added 7 asts, 3 rebs, 1 blk
BJ Walters SG hit 6-9 3s for 18 pts

Jim McKnight signs a LOI. We have 4 scholarships left

UMES Hawks 1-1 @ Detroit Mercy Titans 1-1Nov 23, 2020

We take the long trip to play the K conf Titans. We stayed with them the whole game. It was 39-38 in their favor at half. In the end we just fell short 83-80. We rebounded much better this game being -3.

Murray McLean PG was our top scorer again. He had 21 pts. He is hitting 51.7% on 3s for the first 3 games.

William Guinn our C played limited minutes because of foul trouble. Lamont Bulter our backup C had a great game off the bench. He had 20 pts 8 rebs 2 asts.

Stony Brook Seawolves 1-2 @ UMES Hawks 1-2 Nov 26, 2020

A hard fought game. We didnt shoot as well this game as we have been especially from 3 pt land. At the end the Seawolves pulled away and beat us 71-61.

McLean PG had our best game 12 pts 5 rebs 4 asts 1 stl.

Next up we have to travel west to face Nevada from conf E

Long trip to Nevada. They shut us down in the first half. and we committed too many fouls. At half they led 47-22. We played a good game the second half but not well enoughto overcome a 25 pt lead. Final Wolfpack 92 Hawks 79

We had 5 men in double figures.

We dominated this one from the start. Our best game. We did everything well in this one. Hope it is a sign of things to come. We led 46-32 at half and won it 95-70.

once again we had a lot of players scoring with 6 in double figures.Scott McNight our sophmore PF was player of the game with 17 pts 8 rebs 1 stl.

A good defense held the Retrievers in check. We were +26 in the paint. We led by 10 at half and won it 74-61. We never trailed. We were up by as many as 21. Final Hawks 74 Retrievers 61
