5/1: Recruiting class #7. #10 pre-season. We buy the National and International basic reports.

We move to the Big Ten.

A soph who didn’t figure in our plans transfers.

6/5: 1 slot.

6/9: No one of interest.

6/26: 2 scholarships. We need guards,

8/7: Ron Hess is #6 and Juss Tuns #24 on the Norton list.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs.

9/18: Got a PG, #10. Lost one.

Caribbean Challenge vs. Mississippi. Challenging schedule.

9/25: Got a PG, #19.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked to finish 2nd in the Big Ten, behind my old team, Michigan.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Frosh Dan Coll starts at Pg. Senior Tim Slay starts at Sg, subs at C. Juco junior Dyl Arry subs at both guard spots and wants the starting PG slot.

Soph Jus Tuns is at SF. Junior Ron Hess is at PF. Soph Wade Park is at C.

Frosh Ron Rell subs at SF, PF, and C.

Not sure we can get to the Final Four again this year but we’d love to!

Babies… A side effect of the anti-aging is that it makes most women sterile. Births have been declining since 2121. It took a while but people are now fully aware of the lack of babies, of children under the age of 6 or 7. Lots of questions are being asked, and no answers are coming. This has people more upset than anything else that has happened. It certainly affects me. No babies means, eventually, no college students, no college sports. It’s not that there are no babies at all under the age of 6 or 7, it’s that there aren’t many. It was originally thought that the anti-aging drugs rendered all women sterile but it hasn’t turned out that way. In these days where there is no free flow of information there’s no hard data, but everyone notices how few children there are around.

11/20: 2-0 start including a win over #5 Florida ST by 12. Both wins at home.

Ranked #9.

Both recruits sign.

People are marching in the streets, evidently all over the country demanding answers as to why so few children are being born. No reply from the authorities yet.

12/4: 5-0, #10, RPI #19. We’ve beaten two ranked teams but all of our games so far have been at home. Dyl Arry is now starting at PG.

People are organizing a movement to have people of breeding age refuse to take their anti-aging shots. Those shots are usually given around the 11th or 12th of the month. It will be interesting to see what happens.

12/15: We head for the Caribbean Challenge vs. #7 seed Mississippi, 4-3. We’re the #2 seed.

No way to know how many people refused their anti-aging shots but the word is that the lines had almost no young people in them. I know that there weren’t any young people in the line Nell and I were in. Not a word from the authorities.

12/16: 88-67. We were up 50-22 at the half. 31, 13 for PF Ron Hess, 15, 12, 4 for SF Juss Tuns. +21 RBs, 10 TOs.

#3 seed West Virginia, 7-1, in the semis. They’re good outside but this is a team we should beat.

12/17: 78-43. 47-19 at the half. Balanced scoring, 8 guys pitched in. +8 RBs.

#1 seed, #4 ranked Duke, 9-0, for the title. Our biggest challenge of the season. They’re favored by 1 ½. Really good outside game and an excellent center.

12/18: 84-74 and the title. This win tells me we’re definitely a really good team. 20, 10 for Tuns, 21 for SG Tim Slay. +7 RBs, +6 TOs.

Protests continue.

12/25: 10-0, #4, RPI #1. +17.1 PPG (#12, #29), +12.0 RBs (#10), +3.0 TOs (#74). Ron Rell is now starting at C. We don’t anticipate any other lineup changes.

12/26: A general announcement was posted:

“Given that the U. S. population has fallen to about 9 million people, it has been decided that beginning in January, people below age 38 will not be mandated to take the monthly anti-aging shots. The shots are available to all and remain mandatory for everyone age 38 and above. There will be harsh penalties for anyone in this age group who refuses the shots. It has been decided that an optimal population for the U. S. is between 20 and 25 million people. Once that has been achieved new policies will be put in place.”

Further information indicated that the sterility effect was reversible. Families were allowed one child but could apply to remain anti-aging shot free if they wished to have a second child. It was made clear that enforcement of the new policy would be harsh and that prison cells and even execution were possible for those refusing to adhere to the policy.

1/1/2128: 12-1, 1-1, #5, RPI #3. The Big Ten is tough. We lost our opener at Michigan ST by 10. 23 TOs did us in, and 33.9% shooting didn’t help. Then we crushed #22 Ohio ST by 25 at home.

We knew we were stepping up by moving to the Big Ten but I want to play against the best.

People are talking about babies and I’m guessing that by the fall there will be lots of them around. The 2029-2031 hoops seasons may be tricky with the low population of college age students during those couple of years but things should be looking up after that.

1/15: 16-1, 5-1, #4, RPI #2. We’re definitely competitive in the Big Ten so far, in 2nd place, 1 behind my former team, #7 Michigan.

1/29: 20-1, 9-1, #4, RPI #3. We’re tied with #8 Michigan in 1st, 3 up on 3rd place. +15.3 PPG (#10, #32), +14.6 RBs (#2), +0.4 TOs (#160). The only chink in our armor is ball handling. Working on it.

SF Juss Tuns is #8 and PF Ron Hess #11 on the Norton list.

We’re at #8 Michigan this week. That will be a real test.

I haven’t spoken all that much about virtual reality. It’s huge now. For a very long time only the wealthy had it. Then they “gifted” it to the upper echelon of the non-wealthy. They set up VR chambers in little used gyms, converted old movie theaters… Now they’ve erected VR chambers in neighborhoods, places where everyone lives, not just those of us who are doing really well.

The chambers are so popular they run 24/7/365. People can’t book as much time as they want. I’ll talk about that more as we go along, about what’s in the chambers, or what’s possible for them, and I’ll talk about changes that are coming that will make VR even more accessible.

2/12: 23-2, 12-2, #4, RPI #3. It’s a 2 team race in the Big Ten. We’re tied with Michigan, 3 up on the rest. They beat us by 11 there. Poor shooting and 18 TOs.

Juss Tuns is #8, and Ron Hess #9 on the Norton list.

So virtual reality… It’s amazing what they can do. No more head sets or special glasses or anything. Get into the chamber, install the program and it feels like absolute reality. You set safety paramente3rs, and some you don’t set. The chamber won’t let you jump out of a 15th story window and kill yourself, for example. Race car programs stop automatically before a crash that would be fatal… Lots more, which I’ll talk about as we move along.

2/26: 26-3, 15-3, #4, RPI #3, alone in 2nd. +14.1 PPG (#15, #28), +14.3 RBs (#1), +1.0 TOs (#138). Our 5 starters average between 15.1 and 10.2.

3/5: I am shocked that no one enters the NBA draft. I was worried I’d lose both Hess and Tuns. Great news!

Hess is #9 and Tuns #10 on the Norton list.

3/7: We play #7 seed Illinois, 16-12, 9-9, in the quarters. Beat them by 15 at home and we’re a huge favorite.

3/8: 70-73. I’m stunned. We controlled the 1st half, going into the locker room up by 14. We just didn’t play in the 2nd half. At one point I pulled all 5 starters. It didn’t help. When they went back in they were still in a coma. They finally woke up late and got it to a one possession game five times, but they never tied it or went ahead. We had the last shot and missed an open three. I have no explanation or excuse for this loss.

26-4, 15-3, #6, RPI #3. Still hoping for a #1 seed but we probably fell to a #2.

3/12: #1 South. We face #16 Montana, 17-13.

3/17: 73-70. Not sure what’s going on but my team is totally out of sync. We worked like hell over the past week or so to turn it around after the disaster vs. Illinois but we were worse tonight. We won because of the huge talent differential. 24, 20 for Tuns, the only guy who didn’t suck tonight.

#8 seed Xavier, 21-11, in the 2nd round. We’re a huge favorite again. I just want to be happy with the way we play.

3/19: 91-83. They were up 12 early and by 7 at the half. We played well in the 2nd half. To continue to advance we need to play 40 minutes. 23, 12 for Hess, 20 for PG Dyl Arry, 17, 5, 3 for Tuns. 8 TOs (+13).

#4 seed, #20 ranked Marquette, 24-9, in the Sweet Sixteen. On paper it looks easy. But they have a great outside game.

3/24: 92-93 in OT. They sank a half court prayer at the buzzer for the win, but we missed a chance to win it at the end of regulation, and a chance to put it out of reach during OT when we committed three late TOs. 25, 12 for Rell, 20, 10 for Hess, 19, 4 for Arry. Great regular season, VERY disappointing post season.

4/3: #9 Duke is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Junior PF Ron Hess and soph SF Juss Tuns are 2nd team All Americans. In the Big Ten, Hess is POY and 1st team along with Tuns.

4/9: I’m not going anywhere.

4/23: I ask for $. We get $15,000. We should have a budget of at least $450,000. It’s $326,000.
28-5, 15-3, #6, RPI #3. As I said, a great regular season and a very disappointing post season. We have two terrific looking PGs coming in. Hopefully they will take us to the next step.

As with every new technology in history VR began with games and porn. The games were incredibly real- the player or players were fully immersed into the game, and the porn was the same. A person could create the person or persons to whatever specifications s/he desired, and program their personalities in any way desired, and then fulfill the fantasies with what felt like 100% physical interaction. The absolute ideal porn fantasy. And people did- by the millions once the tech got out among the public. Think of a variation and it was available.

There were lots of other applications, and more are being made available all the time, but that’s what got it going, games and porn.

5/1: #6 recruiting class. Pre-season #8. We buy the National and International basic.

6/5: No transfers that interest us.

6/26: 5 scholarships. 3 and 2 either way.

8/7: Ron Hess is #4 on the Norton list. Juss Tuns is #27, and PG Greg Joht is #36.

8/21: We offer to 3 PGs and 2 SFs.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: Got 4, lost 1. Got 2 SFs, #4, #5, 2 PGs, #21, #37.

Palmetto Shootout vs. Eastern KY. Lots of ranked teams on the schedule.

9/25: We lose one.

10/2: We get a PG, #41.

1st day of practice. We’re picked 2nd in the Big Ten, behind #1 ranked Michigan.

The VR thing is just now getting into homes, on a limited basis. An in home unit can do certain things but not the big things. If you want to climb a mountain or race a car or shoot rapids in a raft or a canoe you need to go to one of the bigger units. But it turns out that lots of people want a virtual husband, wife, or partner. That can happen and the entire house can be set up as a VR chamber so that the mate is there whenever s/he is wanted. Same for a virtual child or a virtual pet, and I’m told lots of people want all of those things. I suppose a “life partner” or maybe a few of them that can be programmed to specifications would be tempting to some. Real life relationships are not easy. As to children, I suppose if you or your partner is incapable of reproducing this might be an acceptable alternative. And Nell has been talking about having us get a virtual cat so yes, I guess I can see that. One pet, no litter box.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Frosh Greg Joht is at PG. Senior Dyl Arry is at SG. Soph Dan Wilx subs at both.

Junior Juss Tuns is at SF with soph Lou Cast subbing.

Senior Ron Hess is at PF. Soph Ron Rell is at C. Junior Wade Park subs at PF and C.

11/24: 2-0, both against ranked teams, #22, #5. VERY strong inside.

We head for the Palmetto Shootout vs. #8 seed Eastern KY, 1-2. We’re the #1 seed.

11/25: 96-59. 24, 6 for Tuns, 20, 3, 3 for #3 guard Dan Wilx, who may need to start, 12, 11 for Hess. +18 RBs.

#4 seed, #10 ranked Utah, 5-0, in the semis. They’re good, especially at SG, C, and SF, but we’re a huge favorite.

11/26: 78-58. 22, 9 for Hess, 16 for PG Dyl Arry, 12, 14 for Tuns. +12 RBs.

#2 seed, #13 ranked Butler, 5-1, for the title. We’re heavily favored again.

11/27: 85-75. We were up 19 at the half and the final score was as close as it got. 36, 9 for tourney MOP Juss Tuns.

12/11: 8-1. We lost at #18 Texas A & M. #6, RPI #2.

12/25: 10-1, #5, RPI #1. +13.7 PPG (#31, #57), +9.7 RBs (#1), +2.9 TOs (#17). Huge improvement in ball handling. Tuns leads us with 17.0, 8.9. Rell gets 14.5, 9.4. Rell gets 12.0, 10.5. 4 others score between 9.8 and 7.0. We can play!

1/1/2129: 12-1. 2-0, #5, RPI #1. Our two man bench, Wade Park inside and Dan Wilx outside, is very strong. We don’t lose a thing when they enter the game. 2 tough road games in the next 2 weeks.

Virtual lovers appear to be a thing. Married people are taking virtual lovers. The justifications include- no fear of pregnancy, no fear of STDs, “it’s not really cheating.” I understand that some partners bring in a VR “person” as a third (or 4th or 5th or…). Interesting, but no, not in my house.

1/15: 15-2, 5-1, #4, RPI #5. #14 Michigan beat us there by 12. We get them at our place to close out the regular season.

1/29: 19-2, 9-1, #5, RPI #3. In a 2 way tie for 2nd. +17.4 PPG (#13, #10), +12.8 RBs (#1), +3.2 TOs (#11).

Juss Tuns is #9, Ron Hess #17 on the Norton list.

2/12: 23-2, 13-1, #2, RPI #2. HUGE win over 1st place Ohio ST by 4 there. It puts us alone in 1st in the Big Ten.

Juss Tuns is #10, Ron Hess #20 on the Norton list. I think they’re both underrated.

2/26: 25-4, 15-3. #4, RPI #3. We end in a 2 way tie for 2nd, #3 seed. +15.9 PPG (#14, #14), +12.2 RBs (#1), +3.8 TOs (#9). We had an awful post season last year. Hoping to do better.

3/5: Chad Rill, a PG who we red shirted but had hopes for, has opted to go to the NBA.

3/7: We play #6 seed Purdue, 15-13, 8-10, in the quarter finals. We won by 32 at their place and are heavy favorites.

3/8: 86-74. It was close for almost 30 minutes. 25, 9 for Tuns, 18, 15 for Rell. +11 RBs.

#2 seed, #9 ranked Michigan, 25-4, 15-3, in the semifinals. They beat us by 12 there and 5 at our place. They’re favored by 5 ½.

3/9: 68-71. They led by 16 with 11:02 to play. We got back into it, even tied it twice, but in the end we fell short. I’m frustrated. 22, 11 for Tuns, 12, 14 for Hess.

26-5, 15-3, #5, RPI #3. Hoping for a #1 and a long run.

3/12: #1 South. We face #16 Howard, 17-14. This is a bracket we should win.

3/17: 82-62. 21, 5 for Tuns, 16, 12 for Hess, 15, 6 for Park. +13 RBs, 8 TOs.

#8 seed Xavier, 20-11, in the 2nd round. We’re a huge favorite.

3/19: 97-56. A real blow out. 23, 1, 9 for PG Greg Joht, 23 for #3 guard Dan Wilx, 16, 10 for Wade Park. +10 RBs, 8 TOs.

#4 seed, #10 ranked New Mexico ST, 30-3, in the Sweet Sixteen. We’re a huge favorite but they have a really good outside game. We need to contain their three point shooters.

3/24: 95-80. They hit 13 threes but it wasn;t enough. 26, 11 for Ron Rell, 23 for Wilx, 15, 14 for Hess. +17 RBs, +8 TOs.

#2 seed, #11 ranked Butler, 30-5, in the Elite Eight. We beat them by 10 in the title game of the Palmetto Shootout. We’re a prohibitive favorite to beat them.

3/26: 72-58 and we’re in the Final Four! They kept it close until late. 26, 10 for Tuns, 13, 15 for Hess, 15 for Arry. +9 RBs.

We play #1 seed, #7 ranked Michigan, 31-4, in the national semifinal. They’ve beaten us three times this season, and they’re favored by 2 ½ to do it again. They have a lot of weapons.

4/1: 68-78. We kept it close for a half. They started the 2nd with an 11-0 run and that was that. 20, 9 for Tuns, but we shot 32.1%, 3-22 on threes.

4/3: #2 Gonzaga wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Shut out nationally. In the Big Ten senior Ron Hess, junior Juss Tuns and soph Ron Rell make the 1st team.

4/9: Some very good teams call. We’re not moving.

4/23: I ask for money again. FINALLY. We get $94,000. Now we can buy the National Gold.

Can’t complain about a season when you reach the Final Four. I REALLY want a title though.

Overall, I’m 445-155, .742 for 18 years.

5/1: #1 recruiting class in the country. #1 ranked pre-season.

We buy the National Gold, International basic.

6/5: Room for a transfer but it would need to be a very special one.

6/9: Nobody.

6/26: 3 scholarships. Probably want 2 bigs.

Ron Hess goes #18 in the draft and Dyl Arry #43.

8/7: 6 on the Norton list: Frosh SF Jam Noya is #2, frosh PF Cris Cofe is #4, soph PG Greg Joht is #10, senior SF Juss Tuns is #18, junior PF Lou Cast is #22, junior C Ron Rell is #43.

8/21: We offer to an SG and 2 PFs.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: Got 3, a PF, #8, a PF, #9, a PG, #13.

Coaches Classic vs. Central Michigan. Tough schedule.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big Ten. This is definitely a team that could win it all, and that’s the goal.

10/22: I woke up this morning to the news that a MAJOR, nationwide, maybe worldwide revolution happened overnight. It seems that the wealthy have been overthrown, nearly all of them.

The news is saying that an extremely well-coordinated organization with roots going all the way back to the “Truth in Government (TIG)” days has captured and imprisoned or executed most of the wealthy powerful leaders both here and abroad. They are now calling themselves “The People Rule (TPR)” and they will be in charge until elections can be held. The target date for the elections is May 1.

This is beyond shocking and most people have no idea what to think. The wealthy have been in absolute control of everything for the better part of a century, with never a meaningful challenge to their authority and control.

Interestingly enough a few of the wealthy were left free. It was determined that they were fair minded and had been on the side of the people and working for reforms.
They no longer have any power but they are free, and they have the same rights as everyone else, including the right to run for office.
It will be interesting to see where this goes.

11/6: 9 man rotation for now and 2 others could easily be in the rotation:

Soph Greg Joht starts at PG with frosh Will Jank subbing.

Senior Juss Tuns moves to SG with junior Dan Wilx backing up.

Frosh Jam Noya is at SF. Frosh Cris Cofe is at PF. Junior Ron Rell lost his starting job but subs at SF and PF.

Junior Lou Cast is at C with senior Wade Park backing him up.

We start at the Coaches Classic. We’re the #3 seed, they’re #14.

Things are remarkably stable. Many of us had expected a counter revolution, or at least an attempt at one but nothing at all has happened. Candidates are emerging for local and national office, but even the structure of the government has yet to be worked out. There’s talk of having a “Constitutional Convention” before any elections take place. So things are stable but there’s no real certainty or consensus about how we’re going to proceed, or what the new government will look like.

11/13: 88-45. Total annihilation. 17, 3, 4 for PG Greg Jhot, 5 otrhers with 10 or more. +18 RBs, +8 TOs.

#6 seed Nevada in the 2nd round. The oddsmakers have this one as another blow out.

11/15: 83-50. 22 for SG Juss Tuns, 16, 8 for SF Jam Noya, 12, 10, 5 for PF Cris Cofe.

#2 seed, #9 ranked Duke in the semis. We’re heavily favored.

11/17: 83-65 but it wasn’t that close. We never trailed. 32, 6 for Noya, 24, 15 for Cofe. +10 RBs, 6 TOs (+11).

#4 seed, #12 ranked Florida for the title. And once again we’re a huge favorite.

11/19: 72-54, and again, we never trailed. 24, 4, 3 for Tuns, 15, 15 for tourney MOP Cris Cofe, 13. 9, 4, with 5 blocks for Noya. We demolished some pretty good teams in this tournament.

11/20: 4-0, #1. All 3 recruits sign.

The Constitutional Convention will happen in January. Delegates will be elected in December. I have asked everyone connected to the basketball program to keep a low profile on all of this. I’m not convinced that there won’t be some kind of counter measures at some point. I tried to make it clear that in the end they can do what they wish to do but I’m hoping they’ll stay under the radar.

12/4: 8-0, #1, RPI #3. We are one tough basketball team. We beat the #5 team in the country at their place by 32, and we got 68 RBs in that game. Jam Noya is looking like the best player in the country and Cris Cofe isn’t far behind him.

Voting for delegates to the Constitutional Convention is next week. Our campus gets one delegate. The President of the university is running against the head of the employees’ union, and it looks really close.

12/12: The union leader, Bela Reese, won the delegate seat.

12/25: 12-0, #1, RPI #1. +27.9 PPG (#2, #6), +17.2 RBs (#1), +5.5 TOs (#10). Amazing stats!

Bela Reese is making lots of public appearances, asking people about the kind of national government they want. She seems to be listening. She asks a lot of really thought provoking questions, too.

I haven’t mentioned it but we’re in that gap era where there weren’t many babies born in the years that would be frosh and sophs in college right now. The pool of recruits was thin last year and this year and will be again next year, but we’ve really managed to do well despite that fact.
