3/7: We play #9 seed Dayton, 12-16, 8-10. They beat us by 11 at their place.

3/8: 91-89. WAY too close. PG Chad Buck hit an 18 footer at the buzzer. He led us with 20, 4, 4. 6 guys with 11 or more but we didn’t play D. -7 RBs, +9 TOs.

#4 seed VCU, 18-11, 10-8, in the semis. Beat them by 25 and 7.

3/9: 71-74. Last night we didn’t play D, tonight it was O. We blew a 16 point lead. 19, 6 for Hays, 16, 6 for Hoge. Not happy.

24-8, #19, RPI #24. We probably dropped from a #5 or #6 to a #8, #9 or worse by losing in the semis.

3/12: #6 West. Better than I thought. We play #11 Duquesne, 20-11. Beat them by 10 and 14.

3/17: 82-72. 31, 7 for Hays.

We play #3 seed, #12 ranked Louisville, 23-8, in round 2. They are a really good team.

3/19: 92-70. I don’t think we can play any better than this. Great game! 26, 7 for Hays, 14, 10 for Walk. 8 TOs. Our 1st Sweet Sixteen!

#2 seed, #10 ranked Purdue, 25-7. Another really good team.

3/24: 61-67. A real defensive battle. We fought hard but couldn’t score at key points. Great run though.

4/3: #11 Virginia is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Senior Jon Hays is A10 POY and 1st team with junior Ben Hoge and PF Hal Winn, who is also Frosh OY. Junior Vic Walk makes 2nd team. I am COY.

4/23: I ask for money again. We get $11,000.

26-9, for the season. 77.7 PPG (#116). Overall 65-33, .663.

11/13: We start at the NIT vs. #6 seed, #13 ranked Cincy.

11/14: 87-72. 6 players with 10 or more. We played well.

#3 seed, #21 ranked Purdue in the 2nd round.

11/16: 77-83. We didn’t play badly but foul trouble to C Adam Horn and PG Marc Anny hurt. Anny and SG Ben Hoge had 17 each.

11/20: Uh oh. The only big guy we landed didn’t sign, which means he won’t hit our SAT score.

12/25: 8-2, RPI #26. +13.7 PPG (#15), 8.2 RBs, +3.2 TOs. Our 5 starters get between 15.6 and 11.0 PPGs. 9.1 RBs for Winn.
