5/1: I like my coaching staff. They were all here last year and all have agreed to stay.

I think we may be competitive in the A10.

I buy the East Gold report.

6/26: 4 scholarships. I want to go for the 4 best athletes I can get.

8/7: Still looking at 11 players.

8/21: We offer to a PG, an SG, and 2 PFs.

9/11: We lose one recruit.

9/18: We get 3, lose one. We get a PG, #86, a PF, #99, and an SG, #148. We want a big.

10/2: Still chasing that big guy.

1st day of practice.

10/9: Got the big guy, #199.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Senior Cory Patt is at PG, junior Nyah Meil at SG. Frosh Ben Hogg subs at both guard spots.

Soph Rick Coop is at SF. Frosh Vic Walk subs at SF and PF. Soph John Hays also subs at PF.

Senior Dan Weil is at PF. Junior Joe Hend looks like our best player. He’s at C.

So the test of the first offense, Motion, begins now.

11/20: 2-0. 2 easy wins. Hend is averaging 35.5 and 9.5.

All 4 recruits sign.

Picked to finish 5th in the A10. I think we’ll do better than that.

12/11: 4-2, RPI #223. Joe Hend is averaging 30.3, 8.8. He’s a force! Making a few lineup changes. The biggest are that Vic Walk is starting at SF and Ben Hogg at PG.

12/15: Headed for the Las Vegas Winter Jam. We’re the #3 seed. We play #6Georgia Southern, 1-5.

12/16: 84-65. New PG Ben Hogg had 32. PF Dan Well had 15 and 15. Teams are doubling Joe Hend so we’re getting the ball to other players.

#2 seed Boston College, 8-0, in the semis. This could be a challenge.

12/17: 70-91. Ouch! 23, 8 for Hend, but we were out classed.

12/25: 7-3, RPI #77. +8.5 PPG, +0.9 RBs, +2.1 TOs. Hend has leveled off but still leads us with 24.5. Dan Well gets 9.2 RBs. The Motion offense is #75 in the country. Given that our RPI is #77 I guess that means it's on target?

If you could show some of the player cards that would be great.
It might help be able to match up which of the players attributes may have contributed to that offensive set?

(Author's Note: The test will be after season #4 for each association. The one with the best record for season 4, and the highest PPG rating will determine things- unless one of you posts with a better idea. As to schedule differences, I schedule pretty much the same way most of the time, so I think schedules will be pretty similar.)

1/1/2020: 9-3, 2-0, #48. A 2 point road win and a 1 point home win but we’ll take it!

1/15: 12-4, 5-1. First in the A10, 1 up on 5 teams, 2 up on 4 others. It’s early. +5.9 PPG, +1.5 RBs, +1.8 TOs. Hend gets 24.2 per game and Well gets 8.8 RBs.

1/29: 14-6, 7-3, RPI #55, in a 2 way tie for 1st in the A10, with 4 teams one back and 4 more 2 back. +6.4 PPG (#32 in PPG), +3.1 RBs, +1.1 TOs. Hend gets 24.1 PPG, Well gets 9.0 RBs.

2/12: 17-7, 10-4, Tied with Duquesne for 1st, 1 up on Davidson, 2 up on 4 teams, with 4 to play. +7.4 PPG (#19), +3.6 RBs, +1.1 TOs. We finally settled on the right lineup, and we’re playing well.

2/26: 20-9, 13-5, RPI #43. Tied for first with Davidson, and the #2 seed. +6.8 PPG (#15), +4.7 RBs, +0.5 TOs. Hend gets 23.7 PPG, Well gets 8.8 RBs.

Heading for the post season!

3/7: We play #7 seed Duquesne, 15-15, 10-8, in the quarter finals of the A10. Beat them by 16 and 9.

3/8: 94-71. 24, 6, 3 for sub Vic Walk, 19, 9 for Hend, 18, 9 for Well, 17, 7 for Hays. We definitely won this one inside. +12 RBs.

#3 seed St Bonnie, 17-13, 11-7, in the semis. They won by 15 there. We need to be sharp.

3/9: 101-93. Not much D on either side. 28, 15 for Hend, 20, 7 for SF John Hays. +15 RBs and really good guard play.

It’s #5 seed VA Commonwealth, 17-13, 11-7, for the title. They’ve beaten some good teams to get here! They beat us by 4 there. They have a very good PG and a solid bench.

3/10: 74-77. Close all the way. We held that PG we were worried about to 9, but the last three came with .3 seconds left to win the game for them. We had 21 TOs and that pretty much sank us. All of the other stats were pretty close. 24, 6 for Hend, 18, 9 for Hays.

I’d say we’re on the bubble regarding getting invited to the big dance, RPI #39.

3/12: NIT, South #2. We play #7 Niagara, 21-9. We think we have an edge inside but this could be a tough game.

3/14: 95-75. We played really well. 23, 9 for Hays, 23 for PG Nyah Meil. +12 RBs, 10 TOs.

#3 seed Northern Iowa, 24-7, in round 2. We have an edge at C and they have a better bench. Could be a battle.

3/16: 84-90. We blew a 15 point lead. Foul trouble and poor D really hurt us.

4/3: #2 ranked Purdue won it all.

4/4: Awards: Joe Hend is A10 POY and 1st team. Dan Well made the 2nd team. I was named A10 COY.

4/23: I ask for a budget increase. No.

23-11, 13-5, RPI #38, #7 in PPG. Good first season!

5/1: #20 recruiting class. We buy East Gold.

6/5: We have room for one transfer. We’re going after a good looking C from Charlotte.

6/12: Didn’t get him.

6/26: 4 scholarships. We want 2 bigs, 2 guards.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, an SF, and a PF.

9/18: We get an SF, #86, and a PF, #267. We lose the 2 PGs.

9/25: Got 2 PGs, #97, #151.

10/2: First day of practice.

11/6: 8 man rotation:

Soph Ben Hogg starts at PG, backed by senior walk on Tom King.

Senior Nyah Meil is at SG with soph Ad Brig backing up.

Junior Paul Robb is at SF. Soph Vic Walk back up at SF and PF.

Junior John Hays starts at PF, subs at C. Senior Joe Hend is at C.

We’re picked to finish 4th in the A10.

11/20: 2-0 start. Hend is playing really well. We’re off to the Memorial Tourney. We’re the #4 seed. We play #5 Northwestern, 2-0.

11/21: 95-85. It was back and forth for 30 minutes. We really played well late. 24, 9 for Hend, 4 others in double figures.

#1 seed Florida, 2-0, is next. This is not going to be easy.

11/22: Ouch! 69-90. The refs didn’t beat us but they made it impossible to compete. Terrible calls against C Joe Hend and PF John Hays limited them to 16 and 18 minutes. I got T’d up fairly early and tossed out late. Florida was the better team but we’ll never know if we could have been competitive.

12/4: 6-1, RPI #29. Hend leads us with 23.1 and 9.1.

12/25: 8-2, RPI #21. +7.6 PPG (#4), +5.3 RBs, +2.7 TOs. Hend leads us with 23.1, 9.6.

1/1/2021: 9-3, 1-1. RPI #28.

1/15: 11-5, 3-3, RPI #51. We’re middle of the pack in the A10, very unimpressive.

1/29: 14-6, 6-4, RPI #43. +3.9 PPG (#13), +4.3 RBs, +1.4 TOs. We’re in a 3 way tie for 3rd in the A10. Hend leads us with 20.5, 8.6.

2/12: 18-6, 10-4. We’ve really heated up. RPI #32. Tied for 1st in the A10 with ST Louis, 1 up on VA Commonwealth with 4 to play, but 3 of those are on the road. Still, we’re playing well right now.

2/26: 21-8, 13-5, RPI #27. We finish in a two way tie for 1st in the A10, and we have the #1 seed.
