5/1: #4 recruiting class. #1 pre-season again. We buy Gold and Gold.

6/5: 3 open spots for transfers.

6/9: Slim pickings but we offer to an SF from Wisconsin.

6/12: We get the SF.

6/26: 4 scholarships.

8/7: 4 on the Norton list: PF Ken Litt is #2, C Matt Fein is #17, PG Carlo Jaks is #19, C Den Dean is #38.

8/21: We offer to 2 PGs, an SG, and a C.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get the #1 overall, a PG, an SG, #11, and another PG, #35. We lose one.

Coaches Classic vs. Long Beach ST.

9/25: We lose one.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big Ten.

We lose another recruit.

11/6: 8 man rotation for now:

Senior Carl Jaks starts at PG, subs at SG. Senior Den Jaax starts at SG. Junior Sid Land subs at PG.

Soph Matt Fein starts at SF, subs at PF. Frosh Mike Mill and Josh Burk sub at SF.

Junior Ken Litt starts at PF, subs at C.

Soph Den Dean, a transfer from Oregon, is at C.

We start at the Coaches Classic vs. #15 seed Long Beach ST. We’re the #2 seed.

The goal is to recapture the national title. It won;t necessarily be easy!

Prof. Lorraine says the final report will be released very soon. There was LOTS of disagreement on the gun issue and it continues to dominate the talks. No issue was more contentious. Efforts to have the seceding states change their minds have been completely unsuccessful.

Another issue where there was conflict was reproductive rights. Universal health care is in place and that will include payment for birth control and abortion, but that was not an easy fight.

A living wage was also voted through with minimum wages tied to cost of living and inflation. A full employment economy, with the government as employer of last resort was also passed.

Education is universal and paid for through taxes from pre-K through college.

Given that the military budget is exceedingly low compared to what it was before the fascist state came into being, money is available for all of the social programs.

Also, full employment means more money is raised in taxes.

11/13: 92-50. 23, 12 for PF Ken Litt, 18, 12 for sub forward Mike Mill. +23 RBs.

#7 seed, #6 ranked Cincinnati in the 2nd round. Tough matchup this early.

11/15: 77-64. We led by as many as 28 and it wasn;t this close. 27, 16 for Litt, 22 for SG Den Jaax. +13 RBs.

#3 seed, #14 ranked Oklahoma ST in the semis.

11/17: 77-62. They led by 6 at the half. 19, 10 for SF Matt Fein, 13, 12 for C Den Dean, 13, 10 for Litt. +13 RBs, +11 TOs.

#4 seed, #9 ranked Arizona, 3-0, for the title.

11/19: 78-64 and the title. 17, 14 for tourney MOP Ken Litt. 17, 7 for Fein, 16 for Jaax. +20 RBs.

11/20: #1 ranked. All 3 recruits sign, still chasing one more.

12/4: 8-0, #1, RPI #3. We beat #3 ranked Oregon, the team that ended our win streak, by 26, here.

Lots of turmoil with the states that seceded. We feel we’re doing everything possible to live in peace but they’re not making it easy. They are talking about restricting borders, about raising costs on the products we import from them…

12/25: 12-0, #1, RPI #1. +21.6 PPG (#2, #45), +20.5 RBs (#1), +1.9 TOs (#36). Ken Litt leads us with 22.8, 12.9.

1/1/3133: 14-0, 2-0, #1, RPI #1. We’re just rolling along but there are three or four very good teams in the Big Ten this year so we expect to be challenged. Closest game so far has been 12 points.

The Constitutional Convention’s work is complete. It has been sent to the 100 districts, including the 17 which have seceded, or are in the process of doing so. They will all vote on the document as a whole. Some districts wanted an item by item vote but if that were done the work of rewriting would go on forever. So each district will vote yes or no. If 67 vote yes, it passes and becomes law. The vote will be on March 14. The supporters, as well as those opposed will be out “campaigning” until then, I’m sure.

1/15: 18-0, 6-0. #1, #1. We beat #8 Ohio ST at home, #19 Michigan on the road, but only by 6.

1/29: 22-0, 10-0. #1, #1. 2 game lead. +21.8 PPG (#2, #16), +20.7 RBs (#1), +1.3 TOs (#34).

Ken Litt is #2, Matt Fein #11, Den Dean #13 on the Norton list.

Only one regular season game left against a ranked team. We’ll be at #9 Ohio ST on 2/16.

2/12: 26-0, 14-0, #1, #1. 2 up on #8 Ohio ST, 3 on #20 Wisconsin. 6 or more on the rest.

PF Ken Litt is #1 on the Norton list. C Matt Fein is #11, and C Den Dean is #17.

2/19: Ohio ST beat us by 3 there. We still lead them by 2 games.

The campaign for and against the proposed Constitution is everywhere, and it is very heated.

2/26: 29-1, 17-1. #1, #1. We win the Big Ten by 3 games. +23.1 PPG (#2, #15), +21.5 RBs (#1), +1.3 TOs (#40). Litt still leads us with 24.0, 12.3.

The pollsters are saying that the vote is going to be really close in about 20 states. We know the 17 seceding states will vote no. If 17 others do the Constitution will be defeated.

3/5: Ken Litt is #1 on the Norton list.

Little used Josh Burk declares for the draft.

3/7: We play #9 seed Michigan ST, 15-13, 8-10, in the quarters. Beat them by 23 there.

The referendum is a week from today.

3/8: 93-69. 28, 11 for Litt, 20, 10 for Dean, 14, 12 for Fein. +19 RBs.

#5 seed Michigan, 19-11, 10-8, in the semis. Beat them by only 6 there but by 31 at home.

3/9: 92-70. 19, 14, 5 for Dean, 18, 13 for Litt, 22, 7 for Fein, 19, 6, 2 for PG Carl Jaks. +30 RBs.

#2 seed, #9 ranked Ohio ST, 27-5, 14-4, the only team to beat us so far this season, for the title. We won by 25 at our place, lost by 3 there. We’re heavily favored.

3/10: 67-62. It was a defensive war, and close all the way. 19, 8 for Litt. +18 RBs but a season high 21 TOs.

32-1, #1, RPI #1. We should be the #1 overall seed.

3/12: #1 overall. We play #16 Northern Illinois, 20-11.

3/14: The Constitution was defeated. 64 districts voted yes, 36 voted no. The Convention will reconvene, but I date has not been set. The seceding states all have said they will send representatives. Exit polls indicate the gun issue and reproductive rights were the big stumbling blocks.

Prof. Lorraine announced that she will not be a candidate for our representative to the convention position:

“I’ve done my part. A new voice would represent us better at this point.”

3/16: 84-67. We never trailed. 27, 9 for Litt. +10 RBs, 10 TOs.

#9 seed Michigan, 20-12, in the 2nd round. We’ve played them 3 times, beat them 3 times.

3/18: 93-62. Never close. 37, 18 for Litt, maybe his best game ever. +24 RBs, 10 TOs.

#4 seed, #19 ranked Alabama, 24-10, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 75-54. Again, we led all the way. +9 RBs, +6 TOs.

#10 seed New Mexico, 23-10, has racked up some upsets. We play them in the Elite Eight. On paper it’s no contest.

3/25: 89-69 and yet again we never trailed. 23, 11 for Litt, 25 for SG Den Jaax, 14, 13 for Fein. +21 RBs. Back to the Final Four!

#2 seed, #9 ranked Ohio ST, 31-6, in the National Semifinal. They are the only team to beat us, by 3. We beat them by 25, then by 5 in the Big Ten Final. We’re a big
favorite but we need to play well.

4/1: 81-72. A pretty easy win. 29, 17 for Litt. +22 RBs.

BUT, starting C Den Dean severely bruised his thigh and he will miss the championship game. We’ll move Matt Fein to C and start Mike Mill at SF. Josh Burk will be our only reliable sub inside.

#2 seed, #8 ranked Texas, 31-6, for the title. We’re favored by 5 ½ but can we do it with a starter out? They’re good inside.

4/3: 80-74 and my third title! They led by 9 early and by 7 at the half. It just took us some time to adjust to our new lineup. New starter Mike Mill led us with 22,
13, and 5 blocks. 13, 15 for Litt. 11, 12 for Fein at C. 15, 9, 9 for Carl Jaks. +16 RBs.

4/4: Awards: Junior PF Ken Litt is national POY, Final Four MOP, and 1st team All American. I am National COY. In the Big Ten, Litt is POY and 1st team. Soph C
Matt Fein is Def. POY and 1st team along with soph C Den Dean.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Approved, A to A+.

38-1 and our third national title. Overall, I’m 596-157, .792 for 22 years.

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Robert Murray is running for the delegate spot to the reconvened Constitutional Convention. He’s running against Alli Wong, head of the employees’ union. The election is on May 17.

5/1: #2 recruiting class, pre-season #1.

We lose a forward who did not figure in our plans.

5/17: Union head Alli Wong wins the election. She will be our delegate at the reconvened Constitutional Convention.

6/5: 2 open spots for transfers.

6/9: We offer to a C and an SG, both of whom are interested and look very good.

6/12: We get both!

6/26: 2 scholarships. We’ll take either 1 and 1 or 2 bigs.

8/7: PF Ken Litt is #2 on the Norton list. SG Andy Mosh is #7, C Matt Fein is #17, C Den Dean is #34, PG Ike Wall is #37, PG Sid Land is #44.

8/21: We offer to a PG and a PF.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get a PF, #5, and a PG, #11, but he looks MUCH better than that to us.

Alaskan Classic vs. Utah ST.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We’re picked to win the Big Ten.

The Constitutional Convention meetings begin today.

11/6: 7 man rotation:

Frosh Ike Wall starts at PG. Frosh Andy Mosh starts at SG, subs at PG. Senior Sid Land subs at SG.

Junior Matt Fein starts at SF, subs at PF. Junior Den Dean subs at SF.

2 time National POY senior Ken Litt is back at PF.

Soph Mike Mill is at C.

11/24: 3-0, all against ranked teams (#16, #2, #3), but all at home. We’re #1 in the rankings.

Both recruits sign.

Heading for the Alaskan Classic vs. #8 seed Utah ST, 2-1. We’re the #1 seed.

11/25: 91-58. 21, 11 for Litt, 22, 3, 6 for PG Ike Wall. +25 RBs.

#4 seed Seton Hall, 3-1, in the semis.

11/26: 92-46. 26, 8 for Litt, 14, 13, 5 for C Mike Mill. +29 RBs.

#3 seed, #13 ranked Miami, 5-0, for the title.

11/27: 83-53. 24, 15 for tourney MOP Ken Litt, 16, 9 for Mill. +20 RBs, 6 TOs. Litt hurt his shoulder.

We’re 6-0, #1, RPI #1.

12/11: 9-0. 5 wins against ranked teams.

12/25: 11-0, #1, #1. +26.4 PPG (#1, #5), +22.1 RBs (#1), +2.3 TOs (#6). Ken Litt leads us with 19.0, 12.0.

Alli Wong is home from the Convention. She says the Convention is holding fast on reproductive rights but is working toward a compromise on gun control. She thinks they will finish their business soon.

1/1/2134: 13-0, 2-0. 2 real blowouts.

1/15: 17-0, 6-0. #1, #1. Tied with #4 Michigan ST for 1st. #15 Ohio ST is one back.

1/29: 20-1, 9-1, Mediocre Minnesota beat us by 6 there. We shot 37% and had 25 TOs. An awful night. Still #1 and #1, still tied for 1st with Michigan ST, who we beat by 27 at our place. Ohio ST is one back.

+25.5 PPG (#1, #11), +22.3 RBs (#1), +1.6 TOs (#16). Litt leads us with 21.6, 11.9. He is #2 on the Norton list, SG Andy Mosh is #17, and Matt Fein is #19.

The final, revised draft of the Constitution has been released and the delegates have all gone home.

The only major change has to do with guns. They are allowed under some very strict regulations:

Private ownership of one handgun per adult (age 18) in a given household, and one hunting rifle per adult (age 18) in a given household are allowed.

The weapons are computerized and networked with an overseeing body. The weapons can fire one round, after which they are locked for one second. They can then fire another round…

The weapons are “tamper proof.” If a gun is tampered with, or if it goes off line, the overseeing body or the police will immediately take measures to seize it. The owner must prove s/he did not tamper with it. The penalties for being found guilty are severe, and include prison time in all cases. Any third party who is found guilty of tampering with a firearm is subject to no less than ten years in prison for a first offense.

The delegates feel that this will likely be adapted by the required 67 districts. Since the “2nd Amendment” was repealed by the fascist government in 2029, this is the first time in more than a century that any form of gun ownership is allowed.

The national referendum will be held on May 3. Other changes: It is illegal to make a profit on anything related to healthcare. The only national or district tax allowed is a graduated income tax with confiscatory taxation at a certain level. While there is opposition to both, given that nearly all wealthy people have been executed, imprisoned, or stripped of their wealth, neither provision is expected to be a major obstacle to passage.

2/12: 24-1, 13-1. #1, RPI #1. 2 game lead in the Big Ten. We beat Ohio ST by only 7 at our place.

Ken Litt remains #2 and Andy Mosh #17 on the Norton list.

Early indications are that the referendum will pass easily.

2/26: We end the regular season at 28-1, 17-1, #1, RPI #1. 2 up on #4 Michigan ST, 3 up on #13 Ohio ST, 7 or more up on the rest. +26.9 PPG (#1, #5), +23.7 RBs (#1), +2.7 TOs (#4).

3/5: Ike Wall declares for the draft.

Ken Litt is #2 on the Norton list.

3/7: We play #9 seed Rutgers, 15-15, 8-10, in the quarters.

3/8: 73-46. 21, 15 for Litt. +21 RBs. 17 TOs but they had 24. Sloppy game.

#12 seed Michigan, 14-18, 4-14, in the semis. They’ve managed 2 straight upset wins.

3/9: 88-70. Never close. 26, 10, 4 for Mill, 17, 17 for Litt, 19, 4, 4 for SG Andy Mosh. +24 RBs.

#2 seed, #4 ranked Michigan ST, 28-3, 15-3, for the title. Beat them by 27 at our place and we’re a huge favorite. They have a very strong inside game, but so do we, and we’re better outside.

3/10: 95-58. This was a true butt whoppin’! 35, 8 for Litt, 25 for Mosh. +17 RBs.

31-1, #1, RPI #1. We should be the #1 overall again.

3/12: #1 East and overall. We play #16 Citadel, 14-18.

3/16: 89-61. 21, 13, 4 for Litt, 21 for Mosh, 16, 12 for Matt Fein.

#8 seed Rice, 23-10, in the 2nd round.

3/18: 93-72. Never a game. 26, 7 for Mosh, 19, 12 for Fein, 19, 9 for Litt.

#5 seed, #23 ranked Oklahoma ST, 22-11, in the Sweet Sixteen.

3/23: 77-57. 36, 13 for Litt. +25 RBs.

#2 seed, #7 ranked Texas, 29-5, in the Elite Eight. They’re strong inside.

3/25: 71-61. We led by 22 midway through the 2nd half. I cleared the bench and it got closer, but never closer than the final score. 25, 2, 6 for PG Ike Wall. 16 for
Mosh. We won this one outside.

We play unranked, #8 seed Xavier, 23-12, in the National Semifinal. On paper it’s a blowout.

4/1: 73-37. Our D was amazing. 27, 17 for Litt, 20, 11, 5 for Mike Mill, 10, 10 for Fein. +28 RBs, +7 TOs.

It’s #5 ranked Big Ten rival Michigan ST, 33-4, for the title. We beat them by 27 and 37, but they’re a very good team. Overconfidence could do us in so I’m working the guys hard.

4/3: 71-83. Damn! They jumped out to an early lead and we never led, never got it closer than 4 points. We shot only 37.1%, 2-18 on threes, 21 TOs. The refs didn’t help, Mill and Mosh fouled out and Litt and Wall wound up with 4 each, but we should have beaten this team. I’m disappointed.

4/4: Awards: Ken Litt is 1st team All American but was 2nd in the voting for National POY. I am National COY. In the Big Ten, Litt is POY and 1st team along with frosh SG Andy Mosh. Junior C Matt Fein and soph C Mike Mill make the 2nd team.

4/23: I ask for a budget increase. We get $25,000.

36-2, lost in the national title game. Overall, I’m 632-159, .799 for 23 years. I’m 58 years old and wondering how much longer I want to coach.

The referendum is on 5/3. All indications are that it will pass.

(Author’s Note: When I formed this Association I accidentally included Bribes, which I never do. I see no way to change that.)

5/1: #3 recruiting class. Pre-season #1 again.

5/3: The referendum passed in 88 out of 100 districts.

5/7: No district or state is seceding although several are unhappy and say they will work for change.

6/5: Room for one transfer.

6/9: We’re VERY high on the starting PG from UCLA. He’s indicated some interest.

6/12: Got him!

6/26: 2 scholarships. We want 1 and 1.

Ike Wall went #1 in the draft. I’m shocked that Ken Litt was only the #11 pick.

8/7: 6 on the Norton list: PF Brad Preo is #1, SG Andy Mosh #7, C Matt Fein #11, C Den Dean #20, C Mike Mill #22, PG Arn Hart #38.

8/21: We offer to a PG and a C.

9/11: We lose one.

9/18: We get one, lose one. We get a C, #11.

No in season tournament.

9/25: We lose another one. Hoping to land a PG.

10/2: We get a PG, #14.

1st day of practice and we’re picked to repeat as Big Ten champs.

It became legal to own certain firearms on June 1, 4 months ago. A little history. The first firearms confiscation happened in January of 2025. 2024 had been the record breaking year in the then U. S., for murders and for mass shootings. After the first and then the later weapons confiscations, again, by the VERY right wing government, murders and mass shootings immediately went WAY down. Murders settled, during the 2040s , at about 11% of the rate they were at in 2024. Mass shootings? Exactly one happened from January of 2025 until the next one happened in 2048. The one after that happened in 2082. The next one in 2122. Murders stayed at about 11% of the 2024 rate.

In the past four months there have been no mass shootings but the murder rate is climbing. The July rate was double what it was last July. Why? People kill people, but firearms certainly make it a lot easier.

There were 11,000+ plus arrests for tampering with firearms in July of this year. Most of them are still going through due process but it is clear that a lot of people are going to prison for a long time.

Several conservative districts have already passed laws restricting reproductive rights. All of these are being challenged in the federal court system.

Protests at Planned Parenthood and other such places are a big thing in some districts. A temporary injunction has mandated that protesters must remain 500 feet away from roadways and sidewalks being used by those seeking services. The protest groups are challenging this in the courts.

Frankly, the courts reflect the voting in the referendum and the conservative cause will likely not fare well on any of these issues. Most districts in South Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Kansas, Nebraska, and North Dakota are saying they are reconsidering secession.

11/6: 9 man rotation to start. We’re pretty settled at guard but we have 5 terrific players to share minutes at the three inside spots:

Sam Wite, a soph transfer from New Mexico ST, is at PG. Soph Andy Mosh is back at SG. Junior Leon Rice subs at PG. Redshirt frosh Bob Wims subs at SG.

Waha Baro, a soph transfer from Oregon, is at SF.

Frosh Brad Preo, is at PF. He’s absolutely solid there, maybe the only big guy who is. Junior Mike Mill subs at SF and PF, and wants to start.

Senior Matt Fein is at C. Senior Den Dean subs at C and is fighting for the starting job.
