Robert Morris Colonials 1-6 @ UMES Hawks 3-4 Dec 14

The Colonials are struggling. They come in with one win. We have a pretty easy time. We were +12 in the paint. We handled the ball well only turning it over 6 times. We led by 10 at half and won 83-66. Our third straight win moves us to .500 for the season.

BJ Walters SG had a great game. 24 pts 6 rebs 2 asts and 1 stl. He hit 9 of 15 and 5 of 8 from 3.
Murray McLean PG had 19 pts and 9 asts. Our 2 seniors guards have been leading the way all season. Unfortunately he hurt his hand. It doesnt look too serious and we hav a week off before our next game so he should be ok

UMES Hawks 4-4 @ La Salle Explorers 1-7 Dec 21, 2020

Not sure what to expect this game. Although they are in K conference they have only won 1 game all year. But we are going to be without our point guard. His hand is still injured so I decide to give walkon Kevin Mosley a chance to start. We played a good first half leading 44-36. But the second half they were able to shut us down and took the victory 77-71

Mosley played a decent game. 6 pts hitting 3 of 4 shots 5 asts 2 reb with just 2 turnovers

UMES Hawks 5-5 @Fresno State Bulldogs 8-3 Jan 4, 2021

Any thoughts of beating the bulldogs on thier home court were quickly dashed. There defense was too much for us. We shot poorly and had 22 turnovers.

Both of our centers scored 14 pts.

So we finish up our non conference schedule with a 5-6 record. I think we can make a run in conference this year.

UMES Hawks 5-6 @ Prebyterian Blue Hose 2-9 Jan 11, 2021

Prebyterian came out ready to play. They were unstoppable the first half. They were greedily grabbing most of the rebs and a lot of our passes. Seemed like they never missed a shot. F9rtunately we were shooting well to stay in the game. They led 59-47. We slowed them down in the second half but never could catch them. Final Hawks 76 Blue Hose 87
William Guinn C had our best performance 12 pts 5 rebs 3 asts 1 blk

The Cougars played us tough. Neither team could get an upper hand. They led 39-37 at half. The second half stayed close but in the end we won 68-66. Relieved to get that one.

Murray McLean PG was player of the game 12 pts 5 asts 3 rebs 2 blks

UMES Hawks 6-7 1-1 @ Citadel Bulldogs 7-6 2-0 Jan 18, 2021

A close game. We trailed by 5 at half. The Bulldogs won 65-57. We sent them to the ft line too many times and they handled us on the boards.

William Guinn was our high scorer with 15

We continue to struggle on the road. Now we are 1-7 on the road. Fortunately we are winning at home, currently 5-1

UMES Hawks 6-8 1-2 @ Texas-Rio Grande Vaqueros 2-12 1-2 Jan 21, 2021

Tough one to lose. Neither team played very well and we turned the ball over too much (+9 TOs) Vaqueros 66 Hawks 57.

McLean our PG had 19 pts 4 asts 2 rebs 1 stl 1 blk

So we are now 1-3 in conference. 4 of our next 6 are at home. Maybe we can make up some ground
