South Alabama has fallen off quite a bit since its Sweet 16 appearance last season, and Troy took advantage to win by 14 at home. The Trojans were led by several great individual performances, as Troy had someone in double figures for scoring, rebounds, and assists. The Jaguars shot the ball very well (60% on threes), but turned the ball over 22 times.

Georgia Southern 69 @ Texas State 59

Troy couldn't overcome extreme foul trouble at UT-Arlington, as all five starters had at least 4 fouls, with two fouling out. The biggest loss was Luke Linton who fouled out after 20 minutes, as Zach Petteway was very ineffective at point guard with 5 turnovers. Walk on Kory Napier actually made the most of his opportunity due to foul trouble, scoring 7 points off the bench.

Troy picked up its biggest road win of the season, knocking off a hot Arkansas State team that had a chance to tie for first place with a win. After an even first half, the Trojans pulled ahead with a run early in the second period, and a strong free throw shooting performance (18-22) allowed them to hold onto the lead down the stretch.

The Trojans never trailed against Appalachian State, as they cruised to an easy win over one of the better teams of the Sun Belt. Nobody had a huge game, but each of the starters were able to chip in between 8 and 14 points. Mike Guthridge will likely miss a few games with a shoulder injury he suffered in the game, so Kevin Watson will see more playing time on the wing after scoring 10 off the bench.

Troy's first half against Coastal Carolina was a disaster, and a decent showing in the second half wasn't nearly enough to come back. Nobody outside of Steven Haslem had a particularly good game offensively, as the Trojans trailed by as much as 26 during the game.

After a disappointing home loss, Troy bounced back to remain over .500 with a road win at Texas State. The close game saw 20 lead changes, but a few late baskets by leading scorer Rob Stone were huge in the closing minutes. The Trojans rebounded the ball very well, with Stone and Griffin pulling down double digit rebounds.

UL-Lafayette continued its domination of the Sun Belt, recording 13 offensive rebounds in a dominant 18-point win. Rob Stone had another solid game for the Trojans, but he couldn't match up with UL-Lafayette forward Marcus Alexander, who put up 30 for the Rajin' Cajuns.

After starting out slow, Troy played a great second half to win its third road game of the Sun Belt Conference season. A strong defensive effort was key, as the Trojans forced 21 turnovers on the afternoon, and held Georgia Southern to 24.1% from the three point line. This game also marked the return of Mike Guthridge and Corey Best, who are now recovered from their injuries.

Little Rock took a 22-point lead in the first half, and the home Trojans were able to withstand Troy's run to hold on to a win. Three point shooting was one of the biggest differences in the game, as Little Rock made 10 treys with Troy only hitting 3.

Troy almost threw the game away with a terrible free throw shooting night, but fortunately Georgia State also shot the ball poorly, going 5-30 on threes and 11-19 from the line. Gerald Griffin was the star for the first time in a while, leading with 16 points and tying Rob Stone with 8 rebounds.
