3/8: #8 seed Michigan ST, 20-13, 10-10 in the quarter finals. We won by 22 there.

3/9: 73-53. 16, 4, 5 for Marx. We led all the way.

#5 seed Michigan, 20-12, 11-9, in the semis. We won by 13 there.

3/10: 72-61 in OT; a close call. We led for most of the 2nd half but they staged a late comeback and even took the lead twice. Joe Marx hit a three at the end of regulation to force the OT and we dominated once we got there. Erik Bain had only 3 points but he had 20 RBs. Marx had 19. 12, 10 for Guti. +26 RBs, 10 TOs.

We play #7 seed Indiana, who rode a string of upsets to the title game. They're 19-15, 10-10, but they're hot. We beat them by 29 and 12.

3/11: 68-55 and the title. We led almost all the way. 18, 7 for tourney MOP Joe Marx, 16, 3, 3 for More, 10, 13 for sub C/F Bret Coll.

3/12: #1 East, #1 overall. We play #16 Delaware ST, 13-20, in the opener.

3/16: 100-37. Ugly. 21, 13 for Bain, 20, 8 for #3 guard Flet Bush. 6 TOs.

#8 seed Marquette, 22-11, in the 2nd round.

3/18: 74-49. No contest. Big 2nd half, 40-19. 28, 5, 3 for Marx, 13, 14, 4 for Mahu, 11, 8, 7 for Bain.

#4 seed, #11 ranked Clemson, 26-10, in the Sweet Sixteen. They're a good team with a deep bench, but if we play our game we shouldn't have trouble.

3/23: 73-44; another great 2nd half, 40-20. 20, 7, 3 for Mahu, 18, 5, 3 for More, 10, 11, 7 for Guti. 10 TOs.

#10 seed, unranked Tennessee, 21-12, beat #7, #2, then #3 to get to the Elite Eight.

3/25: 85-53. We've been playing terrific basketball in this tournament. 41-20 at the half. 23, 4, 5 for Mahu, 18, 2, 7 for Marx, 13, 10, 3 for Bain. 10 TOs.

Headed to the Final Four against #5 seed, #20 ranked West Virginia, 26-10. This is a team we should beat.

On the other side it's #3 seed, #12 ranked Temple, 28-8, vs. #8 seed, unranked Florida, 23-12. The path to our 5th title is clear.

4/1: 77-58. 56-25 at the half. 6 players with 10 or more led by Mahu with 14 and 16. Marx had 10 assists.

#8 seed and unranked Florida, 24-12. We beat them by 25 in November.

4/3: 79-63. We romped through the entire tournament and were never seriously challenged. Florida did lead by 10 early but we got it down to 1 at the half and dominated the 2nd half. 19, 4, 5 for More, 14, 12, 3 for Bain.

4/4: Awards: At the national level Otis Mahu was tourney MOP and I was named COY. In the Big Ten Mahu, Erik Bain, and Joe Marx made the 1st team, Jule More and Fera Guti made the 2nd, so all 5 starters were honored.

I end my coaching career with a record of 714-183, .796 for 25 seasons and 5 national titles here at UConn.

It has been a long road, both coaching and living here on the planet but I have now found total joy. I am so happy to be fully trained by the Kree. Life could not be better.

4/5: "Thank you, Grol. You have delivered all of the humans to us and we have absorbed them into our system. Their energy will enhance our very being and make all of us more whole."

"It was my pleasure, Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler."

"We will allow the humans to experience the joy of belonging. Unfortunately it is too powerful for their weak bodies and they will be lifeless husks within ten of their years, but the benefit to the Kree is worth the sacrifice of these lesser beings."

The End

Well! That just kree(ped) me out!

Do you think if Grol had been head coach instead of Mac Reed, the teams would have been 897-0 rather than a paltry 714-183 ?

Grol would have been too laid back, I think.

Incidentally, the idea to go dark at the end was from you. I like it!

Yeah, Grol would have his players zoning out in a whole new way. :D

And yes, I liked the ending also.
