2/13: 85-81 over B. C. Here. Our 1st half D was pathetic; they shot 54.8%, 7-11 on threes, and led by 2. We were better for most of the 2nd, opening up a 16 point lead at one point, but then we faded. They never got closer than the final margin late, but we made it harder than it had to be. 23, 4, 4 for Sona, 17, 6 for Witt, 16, 3 for Camm, 11, 10 for Will. +9 RBs.

2/17: 58-51 at Virginia. Up 6 at the half. Both teams shot poorly and identically- 10-28. The 2nd half was virtually even, but we led throughout. 20, 6 for Witt, 19, 6 for Will. We've looked batter.

Nothing new on the home front.

2/20: 76-58 over Syracuse here. 50-20 at the half. Hard to believe anyone can do that to a Syracuse team! The we were sleep walking throughout the 2nd. I was NOT happy and the guys heard about it in the locker room after the game. 28, 8 for Witt, 16, 5, 3 for Sona, 9, 10, 5 for Burr. 10 TOs.

Louisville lost the day before yesterday so we lead them by 1, NC ST by 2 with 3 to play.

2/24: 84-70 at North Carolina. 46-31 at the half. We pretty much did what we wanted to do. 30, 12 for Witt, 19, 4, 6 for Camm, 14, 3, 5 for Sona. +9 RBs, 10 TOs.

3/1: 80-72 at Virginia Tech. 36-39 at the half. We didn't rebound very well and we didn't play much D (55.2%). They held the lead until we finally began to rally with 7 minutes left but we didn't take control until the final 2 minutes. Our D remained horrible, they shot 57.4% for the game but we forced 24 TOs, and that was huge. 20, 11, 4 for Will, 18 each for Camm and Sona.

One more regular season game, NC ST here. Still 1 up on Louisville.

3/3: 84-67. Up 42-34 at the half. Sone hit 4 threes and a two. The concern is fouls. We pulled away early in the 2nd. 27, 4 for Sona, 19, 11 for Will, 13, 11, 5 for Witt. +13 RBs, 11 TOs.

We end the regular season at 27-2, 18-2, 1 up on #2 Louisville. #4, RPI #1.

Witt leads us with 15.5 and 8.8. +11.5 PPG, +2.6 RBs, -5.0 TOs.

On to the post season with high hopes and expectations!

3/9: We play #8 seed Miami, 18-13, 10-10, in the quarters. We won by 11 at their place.

Scout Dan Flor: This is a team we should beat easily if we play decent ball. We're better at every position. Unless they go crazy with three pointers we should be good.

3/10: 83-63, and it wasn't that close. 55-27 at the half. Witt had 29, which means he outscored the entire Miami team in the 1st half. I rested my starters a lot in the 2nd half. 33, 9 for Witt, 12, 7, 3 for Sona. +8 RBs, 10 TOs.

In a MAJOR shocker, Boston College knocked off Louisville.

We play #4 seed, #14 ranked Pitt, 22-8, 13-7, in the semis. We lost by 13 there so we're taking this one seriously.

Dan Flor: They have a solid back court and a very good C. They run a very deliberate offense and get points both inside and outside. They play mostly 2-3, and they don't press much. We really do not match up well against them so we'll need to be at our best.

3/11: 70-58. 35-28 at the half. Tough defensive struggle in the 1st. Neither team got much going. 2nd half was about the same as the first. The refs were all over us, which was the only thing that kept it close. It got so bad that I took a T. That worked, at least somewhat. It often does. 17, 6 for Will, 13, 4, 6 for Sona. -8 RBs but only 10 TOs.

#3 seed NC ST, 22-10, 14-6, for the title. We beat by 17 at our place in the regular season finale.

Flor: We match up really well with these guys at all 5 positions. They run a very quick offense with lots of freedom and they take most of their shots outside. They play man to man most of the time.

3/12: 88-71. 36-32 at the half. Poor shooting and too many fouls. We roared out of the gate in the 2nd and built a 19 point lead in no time. 24, 3, 4 for Camm. 14, 7 for Will.

#1 East and overall. We play #16 seed Maryland Eastern Shore, 19-14.

3/16: 74-73. Ridiculous. 36-34 at the half. I tore up the locker room. Up by 2 over a #16 seed! We let them shoot 58.3%. No better in the second. We escaped with a win, but we were very lucky to do so. Witt hit an 8 footer at the buzzer. They shot 56%. Rebounds were even. The difference was we had 5 TOs, they had 20, but that almost wasn't enough. 23-16 for Witt, 17, 0, 7 for Camm.

#9 seed Duke, 19-13, in Round Two. Beat them by 6 and 21.

3/18: 86-51. 38-41 at the half. No D yet again. They shot 14-24. -3 RBs for the half. We absolutely dominated the 2nd half, playing well for the first time in this tournament. 21, 3, 3 for Burr, 13, 3, 5 for Camm. The other 3 starters had 10 each. +12 RBs, 9 TOs.

#3 seed Pitt, 24-9, in the Sweet Sixteen. We need to stop their outside game. They won by 13 there in the regular season and we won by 12 in the ACC semifinal.

3/23: 81-93. 34-60 at the half. Looks like the end of the line. We were totally dominated in the 1st. They shot 63.3%. We never got it to single digits. Not the way we wanted or expected to end the season. 24, 2, 5 for Camm, 13, 14, 4 for Witt.

Camm, Will, and little used Dayn Arlo graduate.

POTW (People of the Way) has been very quiet. Not sure whether they've accepted things as they are or whether they're biding their time and plotting something.

4/3: #4 Louisville wins it all.

4/4: Awards: Al Witt made Conf. 2nd team.

4/23: I ask for an increase and get $12,500.

Good season, 32-3, 18-2, won the ACC, both regular season and tourney. It would hav ebeen nice to go farther in the NCAAs but Sweet Sixteen isn't bad. Let's see what next year brings.

I'm taking that the Zlingans are the name of the team?
