To Boldly Go

12/19: 76-61 over New Mexico here. Camm was on fire, 32, 5, 5. 10, 17 for Witt, 12, 9, 6 for Burr.

We end pre-conf. play at 9-0. #13, RPI #1. Our starters average between 14.1 and 10.0. Witt gets 9.1 RBs, Will gets 9.0.

+15.5 PPG, +1.8 RBs, but we run a 3 guard set and play a natural SF at PF. -6.3 TOs (9.4).

There was a break in at our settlements main office building last night, sometime in the middle of the night. Somehow they disabled the robotic guards, and the human guards were all found unconscious this morning (none seriously hurt). Every 3D printer in the building had been destroyed.

An emergency Council meeting was called for early afternoon. The Council voted to set up surveillance cameras throughout the settlement, in difficult to access positions, many hidden from plain view. Robots will also go from site to site to check on robotic and human guards so that if anyone is harmed again help will be available sooner.

The Council is considering as many options as we can think of regarding dealing with POTW. It seems clear that they are comfortable with drastic action in order to get what they want.

12/26: 74-58 over #14 North Carolina here. 33-19 at the half. 22, 3, 3 for Camm, 12, 4, 8 for Sona. 11 TOs.

Art Eves hurt his knee. Out 10 days to 2 weeks. That hurts us; he's a terrific 6th man. I'm going to increase both Witt's and Will's minutes, and use Dan Talo for the rest of the time, but it's 4 games, 3 on the road, so it could hurt us.

12/28: 77-58 over #24 Kona, here. Close for 25 minutes. 22, 8 for Will, 12, 14, 3 for Witt, 15, 10 for Sona, 14, 4, 10 for Camm.

The difficulty with religious nut jobs, of course, and this has been true in every society and on every planet where they've existed, is not necessarily their beliefs, it is their fanatic insistence of forcing those beliefs on others by any and all means.

12/30: 74-72 at Syracuse. Close one! Al Witt's power dunk with 1 tick left won it. Witt had 24, 9. 22, 9, 3 for Sona, 15, 4, 3 for Burr. We don't shoot it well and didn't tonight (34.9%), but we made the shots when we needed to.

1/2/2105: 90-82 at Boston College. Witt continues to play excellent ball, 21, 12. 14, 7, 3 for Will, 17 for Camm.

The Council is trying to meet with the POTW elders to try to work something out but they are so far refusing to meet with us. They say there is nothing to discuss as long as we continue to live in the sinful ways in which we live. How do you talk to people like that!

1/4: 61-74 at #21 Pitt. The winning streak stops at 13. It was close for 30 minutes. At that point we hit a cold streak and miss 9 straight shots from the floor. We only shot 32.8%. Witt had his worst night of the season and Will was right down there with him. 23 for Camm, 15, 3, 7 for Sona.

Art Eves will be back for our next. We need the depth he gives us.

1/11: 63-60 over Clemson here. We really didn't play well. 17 lead changes, 8 ties. We won because we had more talent. 31.1% shooting. 17, 5, 6 for Sona, 11, 13 for Witt.

14-1, 5-1.

The Council discusses POTW at every meeting but we're not coming up with anything useful.

1/13: 60-54 at Duke. We were down 16 early in the 2nd half and then came roaring back. We were sloppy early and missed shot after shot. Once we finally put it together everything changed. 19, 6 for Witt, 14 for Camm.

1/20: 76-69 over VA Tech here. 14, 10 for Witt and the other starters all had 10 or 11. We took good care of the ball and shot a little better than usual, 45.5%.

16-1, 7-1, #8, RPI #. Tied for 1st in the ACC.

POTW have kidnapped three members of the Council, including the Chair. Their demands include destroying all 3D printers, agreeing to their diet restrictions, and having everyone taking classes in learning The Way.

1/25: 58-78 at Clemson. Not our night. We beat them at our place by only 3 so we expected a tough game. Foul trouble (Witt and Will) and 31.3% shooting did us in. -11 RBs. Nobody on our team had more than 10 points.

1/27: 69-55 at #17 FL ST. Great road win! Up 13 at the half and they never got closer than 5. 18, 7 for Witt, 12 each for Sona and Camm. +12 RBs.

Negotiations have been ongoing for a week regarding the kidnapped Council members. No progress and they're still being held.

1/30: 86-55 over Wake Forest here. A real blowout. 21, 5, 3 for Burr, 14, 14 for Witt. +11 RBs, 10 TOs.

2/3: 80-59 over #19 Duke here. Easy win. 17, 3, 9 for Camm, 19, 5 for Burr.

19-2, 10-2, alone in 2nd in the ACC, one back of 1st, one up on 3rd.

We did a raid on POTW headquarters and got the hostages out of there. We managed to do it without any serious injuries to either side.
We are in the process of setting up a quarantine of the POTW settlement. There's a wall going up to separate us. If that fails it's war.

2/6: 86-75 at Miami. We were up by 5 at the half but came out strong in the 2nd building a 20 point lead. 24, 2, 3 for Camm, 19, 7 for 6th man Art Eves, 10, 16, 4 for Will. 10 TOs.

The big one is next, #2 ranked Louisville here.

2/10: 82-60! We shot terribly in the 1st half, 9-27, but only trailed by 1. We absolutely crushed them in the 2nd. 22, 8 for Witt, 14, 9 for Burr, 14, 7 for Will, 10, 11, 4 for Sona.

+18 RBs, but 18 TOs.

In a 2 way tie with Louisville for 1st with NC ST 1 back; we play them here in the finale.

The quarantine of the POTW settlement has been successful so far. The boundary is very heavily guarded but they have made no attempt to cross the border. The wall is progressing. We're no interested in talking or negotiating. We'll go our way and they can go theirs. If that doesn't work there will be war. We are prepared.
