To Boldly Go

#19 ranked, #3 seed FL ST, 23-9, 14-6, in the semis. We won by 16 at home, by only 3 there. We don't match up well with them. We'll need to beat their press, move without the ball, stop their SG, and, as always, stay out of foul trouble.

3/11: 73-83. They were better than us tonight. They led all the way, by as many as 18. We let them shoot 61.9%; inexcusable. Foul trouble all night, -15 RBs. Nothing I tried worked. Ugh. This will really hurt our seeding.

3/12: #3 Midwest. We play #14 Quinnipiac, 22-11.

3/16: 67-79. I'm speechless... I can't believe we lost in the 1st round, to a #14 seed. We shot 28.4%, Witt fouled out, and Maye had 4. -12 RBs. We were just awful. Horrible way to end the season.

4/3: #18 Arkansas is the champ.

4/4: Awards: Al Witt makes the ACC 2nd team. That's it. We expect great things from Witt. He was inconsistent as a frosh but he grew as the year progressed.

4/23: It's been a funeral around here since the loss. Time to start turning that around, build for next season.

I ask for $.

No.

5/1: Recruiting class #167 but only one frosh and a Juco, so no surprise.

I can't believe we're unranked. I expect to finish the season in the top 10, maybe the top 5, if we stay healthy.

6/5: Brad Proi left. He wasn't ever going to play much.

Looking at transfers. We have room for 2. looking hard at a guy from Arizona but he's a longshot at best.

6/16: No luck.

6/26: 5 scholarships. We want at least 3 bigs.

Lia Melani is a member of POTW. She tried to convince me to join last week. Her arguments started off the way you might expect, all about what I was missing, what The Way had to offer... I was polite, mostly because I wanted to hear more about POTW. When she saw that she really wasn't getting anywhere with me she tried to seduce me- all for POTW, no doubt.

8/7: 4 on the Norton List: Will Camm is #19, Mike Sona #42, Den Burr #44, and Al Witt #47. The first three are guards and Witt is a C. We'll probably go small to play all 3 of those guards.

The harvest is in for POTW. The rest of the colony offered to help to bring it in but they refused our offer. Evidently their laws require them to do it without outside help.

8/21: We offer to 2 guards, 3 bigs.

9/18: Got one recruit, lost 2. Got an SF, #33.

Challenging schedule but no in season tournament.

9/25: Got one, lost 3. Got a PF, #65.

10/2: Lost one.

10/9: Got 2, lost one. Got a PF, #79, an SG, #82. Like to get a PG, but we may not be able to do that.

11/13: Season starts tomorrow.

The POTW are beginning to flex their muscles... at the rest of us. They say we are "contaminating their purity" with our heathen lifestyle. They are demanding that we renounce our sinful ways and living according to the doctrines of the POTW. Not good.

11/14: 68-51 over #21 West VA here. Great D! Up 15 at the half. 19, 7 for Witt, 13, 2, 3 for SF Den Burr, 10, 7 for back up F/C Art Eves. Eves hurt his arm. Out for a week. 11 TOs, and we forced 20.

11/17: 98-76 over New Mexico ST here. We were a scoring machine tonight. 59-37 at the half. 7 players in double figures. 23, 4, 5 for SG Mike Sona, 13, 13 for PF Lon Will. Only 4 TOs.

The POTW inform us that we must adapt to their ways.

The Council met and we're concerned. What are they likely to do? We've posted both robotic and human guards at strategic points around the settlement, on an around the clock basis.

11/20: All 4 recruits signed. We're chasing a PG.

11/21: 89-64 over Brigham Young here. Up 14 at the half. 21, 3, 6 for Sona, 17, 11, 3 for Witt, 14, 8 for Eves. +12 RBs, 10 TOs.

Nearly all of our pre-conf. games are at home. Most are against good teams, including several ranked teams, but there's no place like home.

11/24: 80-63 over Illinois here. We led all the way, by as many as 24. 16, 2, 6 for Camm, 13, 6 for Eves, 12 each for Will, Burr, and Sona. 9 TOs.

"3D printers are of the Evil One. Man must earn his bread and all thing she possesses by the sweat of his brow." Ran is really ramping up the rhetoric.

11/28: 78-58 over Arizona ST here. Up 18 at the half. 21, 5, 7 for Camm, 18, 14 for Witt, 17, 7, 4 for Sona. 9 TOs.

We really haven't been challenged yet; not even close. We're really taking good care of the ball, 8.6 TOs per game, which is almost unbelievable.

12/1: 72-59 over #22 Arkansas here. Up 18 at the half and the final score was as close as they got in the 2nd. 19, 4, 5 for SF Den Burr.

12/2: A conflict between a group of POTW and some of our robotic guards got pretty ugly. There didn't happen to be any human guards at that particular site, and the POTW people really tested the robotic guards. The robots are limited in what they can do. They must not harm humans except when those humans are attacking other humans. Given that there were no humans being attacked the robots were at a disadvantage.

Fortunately, all robots are equipped with video, and with an alert system. They sent out the alert early in the protest and eventually human guards arrived to help. There was some damage done to some of the robots.

12/5: 66-59 over #24 Creighton here. Closest game so far, never more than 8 points separated the teams. We won it with ball handling- only 7 TOs and we forced 21. 18, 9 for Will, 16, 10 for Witt, 14, 4, 3 for Sona.

We're 7-0, #13, RPI #2.

Finally a road game after a week off.

12/13: 62-59 at Georgia ST. They're 1-6; they should have been MUCH easier to beat, even on their court. We led pretty much all the way but never by more than 10. It was a one possession game often in the 2nd half. They hit a three at the buzzer, so we weren't actually in danger of losing but they gave us all we wanted. 14, 14, 4 for Witt, who has really upped his game this year, and has mostly stayed out of foul trouble. 14, 7, 3 for Burr. 8 TOs.

"3D printers cannot be allowed to exist any longer. They are an abomination." Ran again.

The Council readjusted the work load so that every location that has guards has human, as well as robotic guards.

3D printers are pretty much everywhere but we're concerned that POTW will try to destroy them, which would be an absolute disaster.
