2/16: 76-55 vs. 8-7, 3-1 George Mason here. Took 15 minutes to get a double digit lead. Up 15 at the half. Great D! They shot 33.3%, 5-22 on threes.

4 TOs- in the entire game!

21, 3 for Herd, 15, 7, 5 for Toma, 17, 7 for Bree, 12, 6, 4 for Risi.

Too soon to get too comfortable but I really think we're going to OWN the A10 this season.

(Text) Hey, good lookin', we finally won one! I know you're in a plane right now but I had to send this. We beat Rhode Island by 5 and only had 13 TOs, our least since we lost Della. Feels good!

1/19: 92-59 at 5-11, 2-3 LaSalle. We kept building a big lead, they kept coming back but then we took off. Up 21 at the break. It really got embarrassing when we got the lead to 44. I emptied the bench early.

26, 7, 3 for Hobs, 22, 6, 4 for Risi, 12, 12 for Toma, 11, 9 for Bree.

+11 RBs, only 7 TOs. They shot 34.5%, 7-30 on threes.

18-1, 6-0, 2 game lead over 3 teams.

(Text) Miss you. I know it's a short road trip, but still...

1/20: (Text) We won another one!!! By one, on a last second backdoor cut play. I am THRILLED that Jenny actually delivered the pass right on the money on that backdoor play. PROGRESS! We're 10-8!

1/23: 62-55 at 6-11, 3-3 Davidson. It stayed close all the way. Up 6 at the half. We just couldn't open up a big lead; we never led by more than 9 although we led just about all the way. They played well.

17, 8 for Bree, 13, 7 for Toma.

We had 12 TOs, they had 22. Tough road game which was good in a lot of way. You don't learn much from a blowout- no matter which side of it you're on.

3 game lead after 7 have been played. Maybe we'll need to move to a tougher conference next season if I can get Rick Hopeless to do anything.

1/24: Got to watch Midge's team win a close game tonight. 67-66. They won it on a three by SG Lucy Morr. Della Bates is healing slowly. Looks like she won't be back until some time in Feb. The team is 3-3 since she went down with the injury.

Midge and I still spend about all of our free time together.

1/26: 81-60 with 13-6, 4-3 VCU. They're good, but not nearly as good as they were last season. Tied after a real war in the 1st. 12-2 run to start the 2nd. We owned them in the 2nd half.

21, 7, 3 for Vashon Herd, who held his man scoreless. 18, 3 for Bree, 12, 3 for sub Gary Demo.

+9 RBs, 10 TO. We held them to 34.4%. They hit 10 threes but it didn't matter.

I have to say that if VCU can't give us a battle ... Well, let's just say that there are 4 teams tied for 2nd, 3 games back, and we play 3 of the 4 on the road, so anything can still happen.

"Della still can't walk without the ankle wrapped. It's really healing slowly."

"Yeah, but assuming she comes back in early February, I think she'll come back to a stronger team. Jenny and Lucy are both playing a lot better than they were when the injury happened."

"That could help us a lot in the A10 tournament."

"That's what I'm thinking."

1/30: 85-63 at Duquesne, 9-10, 5-3, tied for 2nd. We crushed them by 39 at our place. Took 7 minutes to get the lead to 10. Up 16 at the half. Never a game.

18, 2, 7 for Vashon Herd, 16, 9 for Toma, 15, 9 for Risi. 14, 8 for Bree. +11 RBs.

Sam Toma is #13 on the Norton list.

Midge's team is 12-9, 5-4 in the conference and tied for 3rd place. Della was able to put a little weight on the ankle for the first time today.

2/2: 96-63 vs. 8-12, 4-5 ST Louis here. They hung tough for quite a while. Up 11 at the half. Another walk in the park.

19, 10 for Bree, 17, 6 for Toma, 15, 5, 5 for Herd. Good bench play.

+20 RBs, only 8 TOs.

We need a challenge. These blowouts are not helping us to get better.

3 teams 3 games back. Everyone else is back by 5 or more. We're #9, NET #7, 22-1, 10-0.

2/6: 74-65 at 6-16, 3-7 Richmond. Up 8 at the half but it was closer for most of the half. We were never in danger but we also could never really break it open.

19, 5 with 5 steals for Risi, 16, 6, 3 for Toma, 13, 3, 8 for Herd.

Not happy with 20 TOs, 6 for each of our starting guards. They'll hear about it in practice for the next few days.

Midge's team is 12-11. Della will be back after the next game.

2/9: 96-76 vs. 8-14, 3-8 Fordham. They built a 10 point lead early. Then we came storming back. Up 3 at the half. They gave it a shot but we took control early in the 2nd half.

Only 10 TOs and we won it up front and at the line.

16, 9, 4 for Bree, 21, 3, 3 for Risi, 18, 2, 4 for Herd.

Arvid Beal hurt his back. He's day to day and shouldn't miss a game.

Midge is 13-11, and Della's back, or will be in their next game.

"I expect her to be rusty for a game or two. Thankfully, we still have a few before the tournament."

2/13: 66-70 at 13-11, 6-6 Dayton. We scored the first 13. Up 9 at the half. We were sleep walking throughout the 2nd half. Just awful.

We shot 34.9%, 25% in the 2nd half. 2-17 on threes. 11 TOs. -7 RBs. A truly pathetic half. Their guards scored 45 to our 24.

14, 16 for Toma, who actually played really well.

Ugh. Oh well, this will be a good reminder for the rest of the regular season and the post season, and yes, I will bring it up at every practice.

2 game lead with 5 to play, but after our next we play just about all of the good teams, mostly away.

"She was really rusty, but I expected that. By late in the 2nd half she started to look like herself. And the team was out of synch when she was in there. We're 13-12, 7-6."

2/16: 74-58 with 12-12, 4-9 George Washington here. Big early lead. Up 10 at the half. We were never threatened in the 2nd but free throw shooting was weak and too many TOs, 14.

16, 5, 4 for Herd, balanced scoring after that.

We play #2, 3, 4 back to back to back in our next three, and two are away. We need to win two of them but I want all three.

"Della was much more like herself tonight. 18 points 4 RBs, 6 assists, and only 3 TOs. A good win against the 2nd place team here."

"What does the rest of the schedule look like?"

"Four to play, 3 at home. I'd take 3-1, and I think we can do it with a little luck."
