Hereafter

1/12: 47-69. We fall behind early. Down 5 after 10. Down 6 at the half. Down 11 with 10 to go. Complete lack of offense. Terrible.

We shot 27%, 3-23 on threes. Worst O of the season- by 16 points; I'm disgusted.

Crushed on the boards, -18, crushed by their bench, 12-28, beat inside, beat outside.

5-10, 2-4 Detroit Murky is here. They have one of the worst Ds in the conference, and they don't rebound well. They can score outside.

Still only 1 back of 1st, in a 2 way tie for 2nd.

1/16: 91-63. We take an early lead; dominating inside. +16 after 10. +14 at the break. +23 with 10 to go. Blew them out. Solid play!

17, 6 for Mack, 10, 13, 3 for Love, 14, 5 for Cora, 12, 4, 3 for Mill.

+15 RBs, 11 TOs. We shot 50% to their 41.7%. +11 from the line.

Alone in 2nd in the Horizon.

3 game road trip next. First is 8-8, 3-4 Northern Kentucky. We're better, especially on D. They have a very good PG.

The "Nitros"- that's what we're calling the microscopic life forms from Titan, continue to thrive in a very controlled environment. They're very simple, one cell beings. They function more like plants than animals but they're so different from anything on Earth that it's hard to classify them.

We're sending the shuttle to do another scoop from a different area, where the "ocean" seems quite different.

1/19: 67-76. Neck and neck. Down 2 after 10 minutes. Still close. Down 5 at the half. Still down 5 with 10 to play. Not enough offense again. Seems to be the story when we lose. This team doesn't defend well so it's on us. As you'll see below we lost more than a game though.

14, 6 for Mack.-4 RBs. We were +18 in the paint but it wasn't enough.

Starting C Kel Love broke his arm. Out for the rest of the regular season, and maybe part or all of whatever post season we manage to have. Gary Ball starts, Roy Star is 1st big man off the bench.

We're in a 3 way tie for 2nd, 2 back of 1st.

At 7-10, 3-5 Robert Morris next. They have a terrific PF but not much else. They turn it over. We need a road win.

1/23: 64-77. Up 2 after 10. Tied at the half. Down 6 with 10 to play. The PF is killing us; doubling him. Back to back losses, and again, not enough offense and the D wasn't great.

15, 8 for Gary Ball at C, and good bench play. But the other starters didn;t do much.

We shot 37.3% to 49%, and were -15 from the line.

In a 4 way tie for 3rd and we NEED a win. 13-5, 5-4.

At 5-13, 2-7 Detroit Murky. Beat them by 28 at our place. They have a very weak D, they don't rebound, and they turn it over. If we play well we should win easily. But ...

We sent the shuttle down with a much larger scoop. It brought up two fish-like creatures, both about 3-4 centimeters in length. We have them in an aquarium on the shuttle but we have no idea what to feed them so they won't live long unless we get lucky in finding something they'll eat. Other things brought up in the scoop may provide a solution. The scientists are working on it.

This is exciting stuff!

1/26: 89-78 but it wasn't that close. We score the 1st 10. Take a big lead early. +16 after 10. +13 at the half. Up 29 with 10 left. We led by as many as 31.

20, 11 for Ball, 19, 7 for Star, 12, 5 for Cora.

+7 RBs, 12 TOs. We shot 52.3%, took 10 more shots making 5. +14 in the paint, +10 on 2nd chances.

At the halfway mark in conf. play we're in a 4 way tie for 3rd, 3 back of Oakland and 1 up on 3 teams.

6 of our last 10 are at home, including the next 4. First is 11-8, 6-4 Northern Kentucky. They won by 9 there. We need to control their PG, their best player.

1/30: 83-67. Up 9 after 10. Up 22 at the break, just rolling along. Up 18 with 10 left. A comfortable win.

15, 6 for Ball, 14, 7 for Cora, 11, 10 for Mack.

+9 RBs. We shot better and took 19 more shots. +26 in the paint, +12 on 2nd chances.

In a 2 way tie for 2nd, 2 back.

8-12, 4-7 Robert Morris is here. They beat us by 13. On paper it's easy. We'll see.

One of the fish killed the other one and was eating it. We've actually been able to feed the fish successfully, but evidently they were in too close proximity to each other.

2/2: Pat Fain here. I'm a Junior guard and I don't play much, about a minute a game when I get in at all, which is 12 games out of 20 so far. I see a lot from the end of the bench and I have my own ideas. So I'm here to tell you about today's game.

Okay, their PF, Rob Fox, is a big time scorer. Our big guys will need to limit the damage. We jump out to an early lead but they're still in it. Up 7 after 10 and Fox hasn't done much, 3 points. We go on a run, mostly Cora and the other bigs. Up 12 at the half; Fox has 6. We're turning it into a rout so I might get to play. Up 25 with 10 left.
Put me in, Coach! Fox is a non-factor.

93-65. An easy win. I played 4 minutes, got 2 steals, and missed 2 shots. The guy I was guarding didn't score. That's a good night for me!

Our bench led us, Star had 20 and 13, and Heno had 21 and 4. Our best starter was Cora, with 16, 4, 3. Fox had only 12 and 6.

+6 RBs and an amazing 4 TOs to 19. +14 in the paint, 10-0 on the fast break.

We're alone in 2nd, 2 back of Oakland and 1 up on 5 teams.

Unfortunately, Chris Mack bruised some abdominals and he's out for about a week and a half. We're getting REALLY thin inside and will be for the next 2-3 games. The next two are at home, fortunately, and Mack should be able to play at least some in the one after that.

Hey, I had fun reporting on all of this. Hope to do it again!

12-9, 7-5 Purdue Fort Wayne is here next. They won by 22 there. Our worst offensive performance of the season, by far, and we didn't stop their outside game. We're the better team IF we can stop them outside, particularly their SG and bench, and IF we have enough inside players to keep up. Foul trouble would really hurt us.

2/6: Bench Coach Clint Sage here. I'm mic'ed for the game and will comment as we go along. Kind of worried about the lack of bodies inside.

We're not playing good D but up 2 after 10. The SG is scoring. And we go on a big run, 13-1. Up 23 at the half. We adjusted and have shut down the SG
pretty well. Star is really scoring for us. Up 21 with 10 minutes left. We're beating them badly inside and our guards are doing okay.

74-61 but it really wasn't that close. We led by as many as 27 and after we emptied our bench they scored the last 8.

20, 9 for Star, 11, 11 for Cora, 11, 7, 4 for Dens, 8, 9 for Hemp from the bench. Ball and Mill also played well.

+12 in RBs but we didn't take care of the ball very well, 18 TOs. We shot better and dominated inside, +12 in the paint, +16 on 2nd chances.

Back to Coach Clark.

10-12, 5-8 Green Bay is here. They score much more outside than in, and their inside game is weak overall. This is a team we should beat, even with 2 starters out. Hoping to have Mack for our next, at least from the bench.

2/9: 93-69. They score the first 7. Down 6 after 10. Come back time! Up 12 at the break. Up 24 with 10 to play. This was a blowout; we led by as many as 29. It hasn't hurt us so far to have 2 starters out with injuries.

25, 11, 5 for Roy Star, 19, 9, 3 for Ball, 17, 2, 4 for Mill, 15, 2, 3, 3 steals for Heno from the bench.

+14 RBs, 11 TOs. We out shot them by 15.8%, and owned the paint.

Still alone in 2nd, 2 back of 1st, one up on No. KY, 2 up on 4 teams. 6 to play.

At 11-14, 6-8 Illinois-Chicago. They turn it over and they don't play great D. But it's a road game.

Of course no one in this afterlife, or whatever it is, knows that it's the afterlife, or my afterlife, or whatever. How really are all of them? Well, to me anyway, they seem completely real. They act the way people acted in that other life.
