3/12: #1 West, #2 overall; I honestly do not get it, we're #1 ranked, #1 NET. We play #16 seed, play in winner Radford, 17-16.

3/17: Up 12 after 10; they can't score against our D. 38-11 at the half. 11! 13, 7 for King.

66-47. We mailed it in in the 2nd half. I am not happy! 23, 14, 5 blocks for King, 12, 9 for Zinn. +19 RBs, +18 in the paint. 8 TOs.

All dining halls are back in operation so there are rarely long lines any more. Now if we can get more choices everything will be good again.

3/18: #8 seed Boston College, 23-10, in the 2nd round. We are a big favorite. We should own them inside unless they cast some sort of aura over us.

3/19: We take the lead early. Up 15 after 10. 45-28 at halftime. They're doubling King. Zinn has 12. We're running away with it in the 2nd.

87-54. 21, 12, 3 for King who had a big 2nd half. 20, 5 for Marn. +36 in the paint. 11 TOs.

Little used F/C Kev Jonn strains a hamstring. He's out until the Final Four, if we get there.

3/23: #4 seed, #12 ranked Cincinnati, 27-7, in the Sweet 16. We're favored by a lot. They are an outside focused team. We should own the paint.

3/24: We start slow. Up 6 after 10. King is hot! 44-30 at halftime. 19, 8 for King. Solid D and we are completely dominating inside.

89-67. We were never challenged. 43, 15 for King. +26 RBs, +22 in the paint. 10 TOs.

3/25: #3 seed, #7 ranked Kansas, 28-9, in the Elite 8. Once again we are heavily favored. They have good guards.

#1 overall seed Villanova is out.

3/26: They score the first 10 points. We come back. Up 1 after 10. 39-33 at the half. They are doubling King very effectively. Our bench is
+8. Oslo has 3 fouls. We heat up. Up 18 with 10 to play.

82-55 and we return to the Final Four! 18, 15, 5 blocks for King, 12, 4, 4, 3 for Gare. Solid inside play.

3/31: We face #2 seed, #6 ranked Illinois for the 4th time this season. We beat them by 12, 13, and 9. They are 30-9. We're better but it is hard to beat a good team 3 times, let alone 4 times. We need to come to play!

In the other game it's #1 seed, #8 ranked Alabama vs. #2 seed, #4 ranked Arizona.

4/1: Close early. Up 3 after 10. A big run puts us up 43-29 at halftime. King was in foul trouble throughout the 1st half. Zinn and Marn picked up for him. We're winning inside but getting beat outside. Up 10 with 10 left. Late run!

84-66 and a return to the title game! 19, 12, 4 blocks for Zinn, 19, 12 for Marn. A rare poor game for King who was plagued by foul trouble,
11 and 6. 13, 2, 6, 3 for Oslo. We won it inside.

4/2: #1 seed, #8 ranked Alabama, 31-8, for the title. They are very good outside but we're better inside and we play better D. If we play our game we should repeat.

4/3: They take an early lead. We come back. Up 2 after 10 in a real battle! King is hot! A big run puts us up 46-31 at the half. 23, 8 for King. We're shooting better and better inside. It's a sloppy game with lots of TOs on both sides. Up 27 with 10 to play. We're almost there!

85-70 and my 10th national title! King was amazing with 36 and 15. +20 RBs. 20 TOs but they had 22.

4/4: Awards: Tori King is WS POY, tourney MOP. Frosh OY, and 1st team All American. I am National COY.

In the Big 10 King is POY, Frosh OY, 1st team. I am Conf. COY.

4/9: Probably staying to win one or two more titles if I can.

TP is 100. No exciting offers.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade which I don't need.

No.

35-3, national title. For 42 seasons I am 1351-254, .842.

Press Conference (Excerpts):

Press: Coach Clark, you're 71 years old, and you hold or co-hold every major Div. I coaching record. How much longer do you plan on coaching?

Coach: My coaching isn't about records. It's about working with young people. I love it just as much as I ever did. I'm going to coach as long as I am physically and mentally able to do so.

Press: But how will you know when you're not. Especially with the mental side we can't always judge ourselves on that.

Coach: First, every April I get a complete mental and physical work up. That tells me whether I'm still up to the challenge. Second, my A. D. and my assistants are told to keep an eye on me regarding my my mental state. If any of them seem to think I'm slipping I will go in for a re-eval. So far that hasn't happened.

I love coaching and I hope to do it for many more years.

(Coach Clark's note: They don't know that this is my afterlife and that I have the physical and mental health of a man in his prime. I can't share that knowledge.)

5/1: #1 preseason. #4 recruit class.

Only 10 scholarship players going into the transfer period. Hoping not to lose many, hopefully not ANY!

5/29: We lose no one. So 3 spots to fill. We want 1 guard, 2 bigs.

Round 1: We offer to a PG, an A, a Center who's a B. 0=3.

Round 2: We offer to a B, a Center who has us in his top 5, an SG who's an A. Nobody else worth offering to. We get the Center; he'll play and may start.

Round 3: We offer to a PG who's a B, and a Center, a C, who will be a practice player if we get him. We get both. The PG will play, the C probably won't.

6/25: Going to Indy and all the regional camps.

The holos are all back in business and seem to be functioning properly. No reports of problems.

6/26: 2 scholarships. We want big guys.

Tori King was the 1st pick in the draft.

8/7: 5 on the Norton list: PG Mal Wamp is #4, SG Ed Dean #8, PF Joe Zinn #17, PG Isi Mila #22, C Fern Rhod #38.

8/21: We offer to 2 PFs, both of whom have as at #1.

9/11: We get both, #2 and #19. They are both excellent students.

9/18: Palmetto Shootout vs. Western Michigan. Very challenging schedule!

Life is pretty much back to normal on the ship. Everything has been repaired, renewed or replaced.

10/2: 1st day of practice. We're going to be very good, and we're deep.

11/11: Here's the lineup:

Mal Wamp, a frosh, is at the Point. He has been very impressive.

Another frosh, Ed Dean, is at SG. He, too, has looked really good.

#3 guard is junior Isi Lila, a transfer from Auburn. He is very good and would start for most teams. Art Froz, a junior, is next; he is also good enough to start.

Last guard is frosh Ed Bail, who has some potential but isn't ready.

Soph Joe Zinn is back at SF and looks good.

Senior Ed Marn is back at PF. He and Zinn will play about equal time at SF and PF, at least for now.

Soph Fern Rhod, a transfer from Arizona, is at C. He has looked solid in practice.

Junior Ike Davy is 1st big off the bench. He's good. Senior Mick Deon is next, and he's decent but no more than that. Soph Whit Chat, who was at Missouri last season, is next. Then comes soph Vico Posa, who has a lot to work on. Last is frosh Ed Gely. He was probably a wasted pick.

11/24: 88-69 over #11 Kona here. We were up 5 at the half then we took off. 20, 4, 4, 4 for SG Ed Dean. 17, 4, 5 for PG Mal Wamp. 14, 9 for SF Joe Zinn. +22 inside.

84-66 over a really good Kansas team, #6, here. Up only 2 at the half. So far we look like a 2nd half team. 14, 4,9, 3 for Wamp, 19, 4, 3 for Dean. Our guards have looked really good. 16, 7, 3 for PF Eric Marn. 8 TOs to 20.
