12/4: 75-62 at Texas. We led all the way. 22, 19 for King, 13, 18, 3 for Marn, 16, 2, 5 for Gare. +27 RBs.

64-52 at Virginia. We led for the last 30 minutes. 17, 16, 4, 6 for King, 14, 5 for Zinn. But 19 TOs.

59-71 at #12 Tennessee. We couldn't get the O going, 33.9%. 27, 16, 5 blocks for King, 12, 10 for Zinn but almost nothing from anyone else.
We were better inside but it wasn't enough.

#3, NET #2.

Some problems with kitchen equipment in several dining halls. The others were all crowded. They managed, but there were delays and limited availability of some foods. We've been spoiled lately and we're not used to that. People were patient- well, most people...

12/25: 69-75 st #24 Xavier. Back to back losses! And again, the O simply didn't get it done. 3-20 on threes. But we lost it at the line where they had 37 attempts to our 22, and yes, I certainly DID get T'd up! 15, 9 for King, 18, 3, 5 for Marn. 24 TOs! Unacceptable! Practice will not be pleasant for awhile!

96-69 over #3 Arizona here. Back on track! 23, 17, 6 for King, 21, 6, 1, 3 for Zinn. +17 RBs, 9 TOs.

76-65 over #4 Kentucky here in our last pre-conf. game. It was tied at the half. 16, 8 for Marn, 15, 8 for King, 16, 3, 5, 4 for Gare. 9 TOs again.

We end pre-conf play at 7-2, #3, NET #1.

+15.9 PPG, +13.8 RBs, #1 in RBs and RB margin, -3.9 TOs but a disgraceful 14.1. +5.2 assists.

21.8, and a fantastic 14.3 for Tori King, #1 in the nation in RBs. He also gets 2.1 blocks.

Still lots of problems in the kitchens and now some in food production as well. Everyone is eating but it's getting to be a real problem.

1/12/2066: We open Big 10 play with a 113-68 rout over Ohio ST here. 58-33 at the half and we didn't slow down in the 2nd. 28, 14 for King. +18 for the bench. +33 RBs, +24 down low. 9 TOs.

79-70 over #21 Wisconsin here. We never led by more than 11. This team always gives us a challenge. 21, 16 for King, 15, 8, 6, 3 for Oslo. We had an edge inside and 6 fewer TOs.

85-68 at Penn ST. We led all the way, by as many as 26. 23, 17 for King, 25, 1, 3 for Oslo, 13, 3, 6, 3 for Gare. +24 RBs but 18 TOs.

87-67 at Minnesota. 23, 12, 4 for King, who is consistently excellent. 18, 5 for Marn. We owned the paint.

Still lots of problems on board. Again, we are refurbishing or replacing just about everything. We're starting with the most critical systems and it is taking a lot of time.

Meanwhile, food production and food prep are getting to be bigger and bigger issues. Food choices become more and more limited, seemingly every day. People are not happy with this.

“We need to fix critical systems first.”

“People need decent food. It's one of the few real luxuries on board a ship.”

“Yes, and that's coming up, but there are a few other things that are more important.”

“How long would it take to completely fix the food production and preparation issues?”

“Jerri?”

“Probably 4-6 weeks.”

“The let's slide it into the rotation right after life support and engines.”

“No! Things like air and water absolutely must come ahead of food.”

It went on like that for a long time. In the end the Council supported those in charge of the order of fixing things by a 9-3 vote.

1/24: 82-59 over #8 Purdue here. We led all the way. 20, 12, 4 for King, 18, 10 for Marn.

78-62 at #21 Iowa. 52-27 at the half. 20, 11 for king, 12, 9, 6, 3 for Oslo.

81-65 at Northwestern. 44-19 at halftime. 30, 15 for King.

65-40 in the rematch at Ohio ST. Never a game. 17, 14 for King, 17, 11 for Marn. +22 RBs, +22 in the paint.

15-2, 8-0, alone in 1st in the Big 10. #2, NET #1.

The holos shut down. There were some dangerous malfunctions in three different holo chambers within a two day period. No one was killed but there were several injuries. Holos are low on the list of things to be fixed.

There has been no improvement in the food situation. Choices are very limited. Several dining halls are offering only a single entree at a given time.

2/9: 70-49 over Penn ST here. Balanced scoring. +26 in the paint. 82-70 over #7 Illinois, here. It was close for about 30 minutes then we broke it open. 21, 10, 3, 1, 3 for King, 16, 4, 0, 3 for Marn. +18 inside.

85-74 at Indiana. We led all the way. 22, 18, 1, 4 for King, 16, 5, 3 for Marn. +25 RBs.

84-62 over Maryland here. We led by 5 at halftime but busted it open early in the 2nd. 18, 6, 3 for Marn. +26 in the paint. 9 TOs.

19-2, 12-0, 3 up on 2nd place. #2, NET #1. 8 to play.

Tori King is #3 on the Norton list.

“So are we going on two freaking meals a day soon?”

“Calm down, Mick. We're feeding everyone and we will continue to.”

“Barely!”

“Jerri?”

“Food production is next up. We'll start addressing that in about two weeks. Then it will be food prep, kitchens, all of that.”

“And in the meantime suppose we CAN'T provide three meals a day?”

“Jed?”

“The stats show that we have enough food to feed everyone properly for about six weeks. After that it will get problematic.”

“That's cutting it mighty close!”

2/21: 70-64 at Michigan. 13 lead changes, 7 ties. It was close all the way. 24, 17, 4, 2, 5 for King, 16 for #3 guard Jem Edds.

80-59 in the rematch with Iowa here. We led all the way. 39, 18, 4 blocks for King; huge game! +22 RBs. 8 TOs.

92-71 over Indiana here. Tied at the half, then we took control. 21, 9, 4, 4, 4 for King, 19, 2, 6, 4 for Oslo, 16, 6 for Zinn. 9 TOs.

69-71 at Wisconsin. Again, they always play us tough. 21 lead changes, 8 ties. We missed a 17 footer at the buzzer. 29, 15 for King, 14, 8 for Zinn. We dominated inside but shot 36.2% to their 55.1%.We took 20 more shots and made 2 less.

22-3, 15-1. 3 game lead with 4 to play. #1, NET #1.

Tori King is #2 on the Norton list.

The engineers and geeks have begun work on food production.

“We need to fix the issues in half our kitchens!”

“No, Mick, we need to fix food production or it won't matter what's going on in the kitchens. The food supply is getting really low. At this point food production is our top priority. Then we'll fix the kitchen issues.”

There is a great deal of unrest on the ship. The holos do lots of things for our people, and we've been without them for some time now. Stress levels are high. Tempers are short. There have been lots of shouting matches and a few physical altercations. The Council is kind of at a loss. The Rec Dept. has been coming up with as many things as possible but they are very limited. There certainly can't be any food contests right now and lots of the recreational activities they would normally go to take place in the holos, so they are out as well. These are difficult times.

3/4: 80-62 at Nebraska. We led by only 5 at the half. 21, 20, 3, 3, 4 for King; if he's not the best player in the country he's pretty close! 18, 7 for Marn, 14, 3, 7 for Oslo. Big edge inside but 20 TOs. If we don't win it all TOs will be the reason why.

76-65 over Michigan here. We led easily all the way. 14, 7, 4 blocks for King, 13, 9, 3 for Marn. 9 TOs.

87-74 at #5 Illinois. This was a battle for awhile. They led by as many as 18, 10 at the half. Then we took total control inb the 2nd, 55-32. 20, 13, 5, 6 blocks for King, 16, 9 for Marn.

81-52 over Rutgers here in the regular season finale. Never close. King twisted an ankle and played only 19 minutes, but he'll be fine in a day or two. 20, 5, 4 for Zinn. Only 6 TOs!

26-3, 19-1, up by 4 over 2 teams. #1, NET #1.

+17.1 PPG, #2 in scoring. +13 RBs, #1 in RBs and RB margin. -4.6 TOs but 13.1 is not good!

Tori King averages 21.3 and 13.6, with 2.5 blocks and 2.5 assists; AND he's a good defender!

3/5: We lose Tori King, as expected. Unfortunately, starting PG Kev Oslo and sub Kev Jonn, who had lots of potential.

There's really no one in the recruit pool that we want. Hopefully, the transfer pool will help.

There was a killing on the ship last night. Two men got into a fight over their place in the dining hall line. One of them hit the other who fell, hit his head against the floor hard, and died as a result. The other man is incarcerated waiting trial.

“We're about a week away from having food production back on track. We'll go to kitchens next, then holos.”

“Why is it you can only work on one thing at a time!”

“Because the rest of our people and robots are maintaining the things that have already been fixed. The ship is old; it needs lots of oversight and maintenance.”

3/8: We face #9 seed Indiana, 17-15, 9-11. We won by 11 there, 21 at home.

3/9: Up only 4 after 10. Big run. Up 53-34 at halftime. 3 TOs. King and Oslo lead the way.

95-72. A romp. 34, 14, 3, 3, 4 for King, 20, 4, 7 for Oslo. We owned the paint. 9 TOs.

3/10: #5 seed Nebraska, 20-11, 12-8, in the semis. We won by 18 there. This is a team we should beat easily.

Game time: They take an early lead. We come back. Up 13 after 10. 53-26 at halftime. We're scoring on almost every possession. Up by 40 with 10 left.

102-51. What a slaughter! 18, 10 for King, 16, 2, 5, 3 for Oslo, 17, 3 for back up guard Art Froz. +37 for the bench. 10 TOs to 24 and we owned the inside.

We have 5 dining halls back in operation. 5 more to go. And there are now two choices at every meal.

3/11: #3 seed, #6 ranked Illinois, 26-8, 15-5, for the Big 10 title. Beat them by 12 and 13. We're a big favorite to beat them again. They have a very good SG.

Game time: It's close early. Up 8 after 10. 36-25 at the break. 23, 7 for King, an incredible half! Up 12 with 10 to go.

83-74. King had 39 and 15! 17, 9, 6, 5 for Zinn.

We should be the #1 overall seed.
