Hereafter

1/30: 73-44. We take an early lead. Up 8 after 10. Up 16 at the half. We're turning this into a rout. Up 28 with 10 to go. I'd love to have this D every night!

19, 14, 3 for Bond, 16, 6 for Bank, 11, 9 for Wall.

51 RBs (+27)! 7 TOs. +14 in the paint.

At the halfway point in AEC play we're in a logjam in 2nd, one back of 1st. 15-7, 5-3, NET #134.

12-10, 5-3 NJIT is in town. We should own the paint.

Further stepping up the "visuals" as the ship searches for objects that could damage the ship- that's really anything that might hit us.

2/2: 70-48. Close game. Down 5 after 10. Down 2 at the half. Up 7 with 10 to play. We owned the 2nd half, 40-16.

24, 3, 4 for PG Del King. No one else had more than 9 but the D was great again.

+4 RBs, 9 TOs. We held them to 32.1% from the floor.

In a 3 way tie for 1st.

At 10-12, 5-4 Hartford. We won by 23 at our place. Another game where we definitely have the talent edge but it's a road game so...

Lacy and I have applied for living quarters for two. It's time. We're pretty much living together as it is.

2/6: 72-84. We fall way behind early. Down 9 after 10. Down 6 at the half. Down 13 with 10 left. We can't afford to play this badly on the road.

Frustrating.

12, 10, 3 for Maer, 13, 5 for Heng. 20 TOs, and -14 from the line.

After 10 games we're in a 5 way tie for 1st. 2 teams are one back. Crazy!

8-15, 6-4 Albany is here next. They beat us by 17 there. We need to stop their outside game.

We're still a long way from Saturn. There are some small discipline issues cropping up. No violent episodes since that fistfight I mentioned awhile back but people don't have enough to do. I never understand that. With the holos there's a whole universe full of things to do. How can anyone be so lacking in interests? I wish I had MORE free time!

2/9: 66-65. Back and forth. Down 4 after 10. We need to up our game. Up 3 at the half. Up3 with 10 left. Whew! Too close. Their C and SG almost did us in.

Our bench saved us, 31, 15, 6 to 10, 8, 1. Unusual. 11, 9 for Bank, 12, 1, 3 for John, who is now our #1 guard off the bench. He took that from Euf Miki.

10 TOs to 18. -9 at the line. But we took 14 more shots and made 5. 10-0 on the fast break, which isn't usually a strength of ours, but it made a huge difference.

Now in a 3 way tie for 1st with 3 others 1 back. 5 to play, 3 on the road. Every game is going to be big from here on.

At 10-13, 5-5 Stony Brook next. Beat them by 13 at home. We should easily control the paint. We should be able to turn them over. But given the way we play on the road... And we need to stop their SF; he lit us up for 29 last time.

Lacy and I got permission to move into new quarters together and we did so yesterday.

The BU season ended. We got to the NCAA tourney by winning our conference, and lost by only 7 to the #3 seed. Great season, and that concludes my assistant coaching, so no more "historical" hoops posts.

I should mention that I am playing a lot of piano, mostly jazz and pop, but I practice classical pieces nearly every day. Gotta keep my skills sharp and I love the challenge. Oh, that musical that I was playing for went up a few weeks ago. Completely forgot to mention it. There were 4 performances and all 4 audiences really seemed to like the show. If asked, I'll do that again!

2/13: 88-82 in OT! Early lead. They catch up. Down 1 after 10. Up 8 at the half. Up 5 with 10 to go. HUGE OT win! We double teamed the SF all the way and he still got 29.

21, 7 for Bond, 19, 6 for Heng.

-3 RBs and 18 TOs, but they had 21. We shot 53.2% to 46%. +12 in the paint, which was a big factor.

In a 2 way tie for 1st, with 3 teams one game back, 4 to play.

UMBC is here. 13-11, 6-5. They won in OT at their place. Their SG had 33, which is what did us in. Their outside game is their strength.

Day 3 of February's "Space Series of Poker." I'm in the final 54. Tomorrow should get it down to the final table. Things are going well!

2/14: I made it to the final table, #3 of 8.

2/15: I went all in on a kind high flush and got beat by and ace high flush. Finished 4th.

2/16: 90-70. Close early. Mini-run. Up 9 after 10. Up 10 at the half. Up 18 with 10 to play. Comfortable win.

21, 9, 3 for Heng, 21, 3, 2 for King, 10, 3, 7 for Bond, 12, 5, 3, with 5 steals for Maer, 14, 6 for Bank.

10 TOs, to 23. We took 19 more shots and made 7. Big edge inside, as expected, +12 in the paint.

Still in a 2 way tie for the lead, with NJIT, but everyone else is 2 or more behind.

At 10-15, 5-7 New Hampshire. Beat them by 17 at home. Their SF had 21; no one else did much. We're definitely the better team but their bench is better
than ours. They have a lot of trouble scoring so if we play good D I like our chances.

2/20: 76-69. Up 1 after 10. Up 1 at the half. Up 7 with 10 to go. Great to get a road win this late in the season!

22, 9 for Bond, 13, 8 for Heng, 14, 5 for Bank.

+13 RBs. Shooting pct. was equal but we took 7 more shots. +5 from the bench

We're alone in 1st with 2 to play.

8-19, 3-11 Binghamton is here. We won by 9 there. We need this one. Given our huge advantage inside we should get it.

We have a few days off. At this point in the season nagging injuries and fatigue are factors. A few days off is a big thing.

2/27: 83-63. We take an early lead. Up only 2 after 10. Up 7 at the half. We go on a run. Up 15 with 10 left. Easy win.

Bond had 21, 11, 5. Heng had 21, 10.

+13 RBs, 9 TOs. +15 at the line. We dominated inside.

We clinched! Up 2 with 1 to play.

We finish the regular season at 11-17, 6-9 Maine. Beat them by 29 at our place. We crushed them inside. We feel like we should win this one but it's tough to motivate kids for a game like this.

3/2: 61-75. It's close early. Down 1 after 10. Down 3 at the break. They go on a run and we're in trouble. Down 11 with 10 left. Pathetic lack of offense.

16, 8 for Heng, 15, 7 for Bond.

-4 RBs, 19 TOs. Poor shooting and we did not dominate inside, as we should have.

We win the AEC by 1 over NJIT and Albany.

21-9, 11-5, NET #86.

#2 in RBs, #22 in PPG. #23 in Net Rating. We're not a good shooting team, #278 from the floor, #311 on threes.

Bond leads us with 14.3 and 7.8 RBs. 14.1 and 7.6 for Heng. The other three starters get between 10.9 and 8.5. 6th man Jo Bank gets 10.3.

We play #9 seed Binghamton, 9-21, 3-13 in the quarter finals. Beat them by 9 and 20. This should not be a challenge as long as my guys are not overconfident.

3/6: 71-79. They take an early lead. Down 5 after 10. Up 3 at the half. Down 4 with 10 minutes to go. I am absolutely disgusted.

14, 10 for Bond, 16, 6 for Heng. +13 RBs but a season worst 24 TOs. We let them shoot 56.3%, and they were 13-24 on threes, which is what did us in.

I'm wondering if we'll be invited anywhere after losing in the 1st round.

3/9: #3 seed Albany won the AEC tourney.

3/12: 21-10, NET #107.

Going to the CHI. #2 East. We play #7 Howard, 18-14. They beat us by 2 in OT there. Their C and their SG gave us fits. We're better inside and we play better D.
