11/17: 57-67, but it wasn't that close. Up 1 after 10; back and forth. We go on a run. Up 20 at the half. Up 12 with 10 to play. They came on at the end but we were in control throughout the 2nd half; we never even ramped up our D.

13, 4, 7 for King, 13, 9 for Heng. 14 for Maer.

11 TOs. We took 8 more shots but only made 1 more; their pct. was higher than ours. We won it at the line, +9.

We're 2-0, but against weak teams and at home. Now it's 4 of 5, 6 of 8, 10 of 14 on the road.

At 0-2 Prairie View next. We feel like we're a lot better, especially outside.

Bond has the flu; he shouldn't miss a game.

All 3 recruits signed so we're finished with recruiting.

I lasted two days in the Poker tournament. Near the end of the 2nd day I went all in with three nines and lost to a straight.

We set the tournament up by work schedules. When it gets down to the final 10 or less, accommodations will be made so all players are free for two days in a row.

This has been wildly successful and will occur monthly while we're travelling in space with a light schedule.

Other games, athletic events, artistic endeavors are all going well. I'm actually playing in a pit for a musical play that's happening in a few weeks. First time doing this sort of thing and looking forward to it.

11/21: 78-88. Down early. Down 11 after 10. Down 14 at the half. Down 11 with 10 to go. D was terrible, they shot 60%, and we never got closer than 4 in the 2nd half.

14, 10 for Heng, 19, 3 for Bond, 14 for 6th man Jo Bank.

We shot 39.7%. -8 RBs but 10 fewer TOs. The D has to do better.

At 2-1 Howard next. On paper it's close. They can rebound but they turn it over a lot.

Lots of games and stuff still going on. I'm loving the rehearsals for the musical. Getting the singers to come in at the right time, keep the rhythm consistent and together with my playing are challenging but we'll get there.

11/24: 90-92 in OT. We take an early lead. Up only 2 after 10. Up 1 at the half. Up 3 with 10 to go. Close all the way so far. OT! Damn! 28 lead changes, 10 ties, never more than a 6 point spread. They got hot last.

24, 4 for Heng, 12, 13 for Bind, 18, 8 for Bank, 14, 9 for Wall.

+7 RBs. We shot 43.1%, they shot 52.9%. The foul line kept us in it. Their backcourt won it for them.

Bond hurt his back and might miss a game.

We're now 2-2.

1-2 Georgia ST is here. This looks like it could be close. Bond will not start but he may be available for a minute or two here and there.

11/27: 84-59. Down 6 after 10; not happy! Up 1 at the half. We go on a run early in the 2nd. Up 18 with 10 to play. 46-22 in the 2nd half.

21, 5 for Bank, who started for the injured Bond. 11, 5, 9, 3 steals for King, 12, 6, 5 for Maer, 15, 6 for Heng, 10, 8 for Bond, who will not start our next either.

+19 RBs. We had a 10%+ edge in shooting.

Back to back games with a flight in between. What TF kind of scheduling is THAT!

At 2-1 Alabama ST. We think we're a much better team but they can score big time inside and they have a solid PG. We need our inside guys to step up.

All remains quiet out here in space. Watching the stars go by while holding hands with Lacy may not sound exciting, but it is definitely nice.

11/28: 79-81 in OT. We fall behind early. Then we catch up. Down 4 after 10. Down 2 at the half. Uh oh, wrong end of a run. Down 5 with 10 left. OT again. Damn I hate to lose like this. That's 0-2 in OT so far. So frustrated!

15, 17 for Heng, 13, 5, 4 for King, 12, 4, 3 for Bank, 12, 8 for Bond.

+17 RBs but we shot poorly. We took 13 more shots and only made 2 of them. -4 threes, -2 from the line.

We're 3-3, can't win on the road but 2 losses in OT.

At 1-4 Perverterian next. On paper we're WAY better but we haven't won a road game yet so...

12/1: 64-62. We take an early lead. Up 4 after 10. Up 14 at the break. Up only 6 with 10 to play. WHEW! They missed an open 12 footer at the buzzer. We got lucky.

13, 10, 3 for Bond, 15, 2, 6 for King, 11, 11 for Heng, 11 for Watt. Bank was awful. I gave him more minutes and he did squat with them. I'll give him another game though, before I take the minutes back.

+13 RBs. We shot slightly better and controlled the inside. Their bench kept them in it.

0-4 Monmouth is here. On paper this is a walkover. They're dead last in the nation in PPG Allowed. We'll see.

The "Space Series": We're at the end of Day 1. Late in the day I had three nines, which took me out of the first Series. I went all in again and won, taking out two other guys, and giving me an impressive bankroll. I'm #7 in my group and #20 overall at the end of the first day. Cool!

12/2: I held my own in the Series today, playing conservatively. I'm now still #7 in my group and climbed to #18 overall.

12/3: I won a big purse early in the day and finished the day #1 in my group, #4 overall. 44 players left.

12/4: Midday I was #2 overall, went all in on a flush against #3 overall, lost to a better flush, got left with peanuts (I had more money than she did.). I'm in last place, #10. Tomorrow we play until we get a winner. It's not likely to be me!

12/5: 84-62. We score the first 9. Up 15 at the half. Up 17 at the break. Up 18 with 10 to go. Easy one!

+12 RBs, 10 fewer TOs. We shot much better and were +16 at the line. +24 in the paint, +14 on the fast break.

At 2-4 Merrimack next. We think we're better at every position and we should dominate inside. But it's a road game...

I finished 10th in the Space Series, as expected. I had a small run of luck which kept me alive for half the day, but I simply didn't have enough money to do anything meaningful. But this is FUN! People are talking about poker all through the ship. Oh, a woman from food services won. She played really well and she also held really good cards!

+6 RBs, 10 TOs. We outshot them and controlled the inside.

5-3 Alcorn ST is next. They're 4-0 at home. We think we have a big talent edge.

Life is good when we're just travelling. We all have jobs to do, and we work about as many hours, but there's a lot less pressure for everyone with the possible exception of the navigators, who need to make sure nothing smacks us.

12/15: 84-68. We fall behind early. Down 9 after 10. After a comeback we're up 11 at the break. Up 27 with 10 to play. We led by as many as 30.

15, 11, 5 for Maer, 14, 5, 5 for Bond, 11, 4 for Bank.

-5 RBs but only 3 TOs, to 16. We shot better, +8 field goals. +12 in the paint.

Next 4 are away. First we're at 0-9 Longwood. On paper it's a really easy win. But it's a road game and they're desperate for a win.

A fist fight happened in one of the cafeterias. That sort of thing never happens. We're a pretty disciplined bunch. Of course it was over a woman. Turns out she isn't interested in either of the men. She lives happily with her female lover. Some guys just don't get it.
