Hereafter

1/26: Back and forth early. Up 5 after 10 due to a mini-run. We're not shooting at all well. We hit 5 shots in a row and are up 16 at the half. We get it in gear; up 20 with 10 left.

95-71. We took advantage of their weak D. Great game for Gaut Wall, 26 and 8; 15, 9 for Mack. 16, 4 for Cora from the bench, 10, 4 for Hemp. 12, 5, 7 for Brad, who is really consistent. He rarely has a poor game.

+10 RBs and only 4 TOs to their 13. We made 16 more free throws on 19 more attempts. +14 on 2nd chances.

Halfway through League play we're up 2 games on both Youngstown ST and Purdue Fort Wayne. 3 up on 2 other teams. 7 of our last 10 are away, several against contenders.

+14.4 PPG, + only 2.8 RBs, -an amazing 7.2 TOs (#1 in the nation; #2 gets 12.0!).

Brad is #1 in the Horizon in assists and PG Josh Mill is #4. Roy Star leads the conf. in RBs.

At 4-15, 2-8 Ill-Chi. We won by 15 at our place. This is a team we should beat, even on the road.

One of our recruits didn't hit our SAT score. We were constantly on his case to prepare. Clearly he didn't.

Lacy has not experienced morning sickness even once.

1/30: Early lead. Up 3 after 10 after they came back. We're not playing D. Up 7 at the half. Wall is playing really well. Up only 2 with 10 left. We go on a run!

90-74. It took a LONG time but we got there. Gaut Wall had 18, 14, 4. 20, 4 for Star, 18, 3, 6 for Brad. Good bench play.

We shot 51.8% and were +7 from the line. 11 TOs.

Only Youngstown ST is 2 back.

At 9-11, 5-6 Detroit Mercy. We won by 15 at our place. We need to stop the outside shot and turn them over.

Not much to see on the monitors. Space is very empty way out here. That's no surprise, of course.

I finish 6th in a 9 ball tournament. It was a lot of fun until my last match when I got shellacked by the eventual tourney winner. I am not in her league!

2/2: We jump out to a quick lead. Up 10 after 10. Up 14 at the break. Up 17 with 10 left. They mounted a comeback but it wasn't enough.

74-66. Balanced scoring. We had 7 who scored between 13 and 7. We committed 4 TOs, very high for us. Statistically the game was close. We had slight edges in almost every category, but very slight. 10-0 on the fast break was huge, and we're not usually a fast break team. Poor free throw shooting, 27-
43, hurt us.

Our #3 guard, Pat Fain is out for the season with a torn ACL. He's a senior so that ends his playing career. We're down to 3 guards.

2 at home, then 5 straight on the road, then one at home. Still a two game lead.

2nd place Youngstown ST, 14-7. 9-3, is here. We won there by 19. We dominated inside and played great team D. On paper we're better at every position except PG. Their bench is better, esp. with our guard situation. We should win at home but we need to play well.

2/6: 14-2 early. Up 14 after 10 minutes. Up only 8 at the half. They're playing hard. We're in some foul trouble, esp. Inside. Up 5 with 20 to play.

70-66. They never quit. It was tied at 66 then Josh Mill hit a 3 and Chris Mack hit 1-2 from the line. 21, 5, 3 with 4 steals for Wall. 16, 6, 8 for Brad. +8 RBs but a season high 20 TOs; they had 18. The kind of battle you'd expect when the top 2 teams face off. It's interesting that we beat them easily away, and it was a war at our place.

12-11, 6-7 Green Bay is here. We won by a single point there. Thy have a strong outside game. We need to control the threes and turn them over. Our D was NOT good last time we met.

2/9: Early lead. Up 10 after 10. Up only 6 at the break. Up 8 with 10 left but it's far from over. We go on a run!

77-66. 23, 6, 2 with 4 steals for Gaut Wall. 15, 1, 7 with 3 steals for Brad. We were -5 on the boards and only 4 better on TOs, but we shot 50% to their 44.1%, and we had a slight edge on the line.

Only IUPUI is 3 back. 6 to play but the next 5 are away. Still if we can finish 3-3 we should win the conf. outright.

The easiest of our final 6 games is at last place Cleveland ST, 4-19, 3-11; everyone else we face has a winning record or close to it. We won by 29 at our place. They have a lot of trouble scoring and turn it over a lot. If we come to play we should be fine.

2/13: Early lead and then a run. Up 14 after 10. Up 15 at the break. Up 16 with 10 to play.

77-60. A walk in the park. Chris Mack led us with 18 and 9, and he shut down his counterpart. 13, 4, 6 for Brad, 11, 7, 3 for Star, 11, 7, 2 for 6th man Rich Cora.

+10 RBs, only 8 TOs to their 16. They shot better but we took 16 more shots and made 12 more from the line. 19-0 on 2nd chance points.

3 up on IUPUI, 5 or more on everyone else.

Starting PG Josh Mill hurt his wrist. Not good. We'll play him as much as we can in our next game since we have only two other guards.

At 13-11, 7-8 Purdue Fort Wayne next. This is a good team with a very solid PG and a deep bench. We could be in trouble with Mill at less than 100%.

RANKED!!! First time one of my teams has been ranked! #17.

We won easily at our place, by 23, but this won't be easy.

Our long range sensors are picking up what seems to be a very large object. We can't tell how large, or hazard a guess as to what it is because it is right at the edge of the range of our sensors. Could be interesting.

2/16: We score the first 8 points. Up 6 after 10 min. Up 14 at the half. Up 17 with 10 to go.

87-71. Never a doubt. 17, 3, 4 for Wall. Mill played really well, especially considering the injury. He'll be back at 100% for our next game. #3 guard Jay Heno stepped up- 10, 5, 2. 13, 6, 4 for Mack.

+11 RBs but an awful 19 TOs (They had 18.). We shot well and made 8 more FGs.

+10 in the paint.

Up 4 with 4 to play.

Next up is 12-13, 8-8 Milwaukee. We won by 17 at our place with excellent D (45 pts. Against).

We're now #12!

We're a little closer to that huge object ion the sky but still too far away to get a good read. It is now clear that it is massive, though.

2/20: They take an early lead and get it to 10. Down 10 after 10. I ramp up the D but it's not helping much. Down 6 at the break. We're coming back. Even with 10 to go.

79-78 on Gaut Wall's 17 footer at the buzzer. LONG discussion about whether Gaut got the shot off in time. Hell of a game! They led by as many as 15. We never led by more than 3.

19, 6 for Wall, 16, 6, 2, 4 steals, 3 blocks for Mack. All 5 starters in double figures. 18 TOs. Not happy with TOs lately. We took 14 more shots, made 5 of them. They were
+10 at the line, which kept them in it. I wasn't happy with the zebras.

At 15-11, 9-8 Northern KY next. We won by only 11 at our place. Their bench played really well, ad did their C and SG. They owned the boards but we turned them over 18 times. We won it at the line, 35-44 to 13-16; we won't get those calls on the road. We need to play better D than we did against Milwaukee, and we need to rebound.

5 up with 3 to play so we've clinched!

That rock is at least as big as Jupiter and may be bigger. We should know more in a week or so.

Lacy continues to feel great. She finished 2nd in this month's poker tournament, which definitely made her feel better! I went out on day 3.

2/23: Slow start. Down 8 after 10. We're sluggish. Down 12 at the break. Down 11 midway through the 2nd.

69-84. They led all the way. We let them shoot 57.4%, 12-22 on threes.6th man Rich Cora had 19 and 7 but no one else did much.

Chris Mack hurt a knee. Not serious but he's out for a week, which means the rest of the regular season.

At 14-13, 9-9 Oakland next. We won by 24 at our place. We need to play D. If we do we should be okay, even with a starter and a sub out with injuries.

2/27: We take an early lead. Up 14 after 10. The big guys are playing really well so far. Up 50-22 at the half- amazing! Up only 14 with 10 left. We're too relaxed and I'm doing some butt kicking.

91-69. An easy road win despite a poor 4th quarter. 22, 10, 3 for Star, 17, 10 for Cora, starting for Mack. 16, 5 for Wall, 9, 5 for Hemp. We controlled the inside.

+8 RBs, 10 TOs. +14 in the paint.

We end the regular season at home against 17-11, 10-9 Robert Morris. We haven't played them this season. This is a team we should beat. Mack could play a little if we needed him but I'm hoping we won't.

That big object way out in space is at least 5 times bigger than Jupiter, and it is headed straight at us. We're calculating a course change. The first estimate is that we're about 3 months from intersecting with it so there's plenty of time to change course and avoid it. The navigators are considering the object's gravity well.

Rec. Dir. Kelly Geer has organized a Pitch exhibition. Pitch, also known as "Set back" is a very old card game. There's a trump suit and people play as partners. Once people learn to play, if it catches on there will be tournaments.

I don't know how she keeps coming up with all these new activities but she is great for morale. The hours are long in interstellar space.
