Hereafter

12/25: We're #10 before the game, #1 NET.

It's #5 seed Kent ST, 7-3, for the title. They're good at inside scoring but they play poor D.

We had hoped for some competition in this tourney but when the #1, 3, and 4 seeds all went out in the first round, that idea disappeared.

Game time: We jump out to a lead right away. 50-34 at the half. 17 for Maye but PG Al Morr managed to pick up 3 fouls while playing 5 minutes. Our bigs are owning theirs.

90-73 and the tourney title. 30 and 8 for Maye, his best game so far. 13, 10 for 6th man F/C Dee Mull. Only 10 TOs.

12/26: Our last pre-conf game is with 6-4 UConn here. They can light it up outside, but they really don't score a lot of points.

Game time: 45-35 at halftime.

82-60. Solid D again. 17, 10, 5, 3 for Sitt, 19, 8 for Maye. All 5 starters had 10 or more. Gray looked good tonight. 9 TOs.

12/28: The “End of the Blues” party- parties- were today. What a great day! Haven't seen this many smiles in a very long time.

“We'll do more of these kinds of things.”

“Great idea, Mina!”

1/1/2053: At the end of pre-conf play we're 12-1, #6, NET #1.

+18.9 PPG, #1 in points and in margin. +11.1 RBs, #1 in margin. -2.0 TOs but an awful 15.3. +4.1 assists.

Sitt leads us with 13.9 PPG. Arch is 2nd with 13.4. Morr gets 11.9, and Maye gets 11.8. Arch leads in RBs with 9.3.

1st PAC-12 game is with 10-2 Washington, here. They have decent numbers but they haven't played anyone.

1/2: (Author's Note: I'm going to sim conference play, 4 games at a go)

1/13: On 1/10 6th man Dee Mull got hurt. He's out for 2 weeks with a back issue. Ben Farr will get some of his minutes.

16-1, 4-0, as we win our 1st 4 conf. games.

We beat #18 Arizona ST by 31 at home. Then it was a close one at Oregon ST, winning by just 5 on some great play by PG Al Morr.

We don't have a go to scorer, but 4 guys bet between 13.8 and 12.1.

We're ranked #2!

Regular parties, contests, and events led by Rec. Director Mina, and morale is definitely rising!

Playing #3 Arizona here next.

1/27: 20-1, 8-0. 1 up on #3 ranked Arizona, who we beat by 17 at our place, and up 3 or more on the rest of the PAC-12. Arizona never led in that game. Then we trounced 3 other teams by 28, 26, and 18.

Luke Arch is #13 on the Norton list.

Things haven't been this good on the ship in a long time. Hali and I, and sometimes June, go out on the boat as often as possible. I play the piano almost every day. But it's not just me. Almost everyone seems to be getting back to doing the things they enjoy.

2/14: We go 4-1 in our latest 5.

24-2, 12-1, 2 up on 2nd place Arizona in the PAC-12, up 4 or more on the rest with 5 to play.

We're ranked #1, NET #1.

Arch remains #13 on the Norton list.

We lost by 3 at Oregon as their guards and bench outplayed ours. Our 4 wins were all easy wins.

We continue to have 4 starters getting between 13.9 and 12.5.

John Akin is finally back at full strength and will start again. We're a much stronger team with him starting.

We really have only one serious challenge in our last 5 regular season games; we're at #4 Arizona. But even if we lose that one we win the conference if we win the others.

Mina's latest contest is, “A Day in the Holo.” It's about doing our favorite thing in the holo, making a video of parts of it, and doing a video report. Best video wins.

In my day job as Chief Statistician, something is going on in Water. They're producing enough of it, and it exceeds our standards for purity, but at the same time they're producing a little less than usual, and it is a tiny bit less pure than usual. It's my job to see these things early on and to help the department in question to see what's going on and to fix it. The Water department has no explanation for the slight drop in production and quality, but they're on it.

3/5: We end the regular season at 28-3, 16-2, #2, NET #1. We win the PAC-12 by 1 over #4 Arizona, and 5 or more over the rest.

We lost badly at Arizona, by 17. We couldn't get any offense going and our D was weak. They beat us inside.

We won 3 of the other 4 easily but beat UCLA here by only 1. This was another night when the O never got going, but the D saved us. We won it inside, but barely.

We wind up +16.7 in PPG, +10.0 in RBs, -2.2 TOs but a terrible 15.8, and if we don't win the national title, TOs will likely be the reason. +4.7 assists.

Luke Arch is our best player. He leads us with 14.3 and 8.4.

Alicia Loka won the “Day in the Holo” contest. Her video of her day in her greenhouse was fascinating. Mala Qureshi was second with “Cooking for Pleasure.”

The numbers are still off in the Water Department. They aren't any worse, but are about the same. No solutions, or even any identification of causes as yet.

We head to the post season with high hopes and high expectations.

3 players declare, starting SF Tony Maye, little used C/PF Alex Murk, and little used SF Ben Farr. All big guys. We're only interested in one guy and we offer to him. Hopefully we can fill the other two spots with transfers.

3/9: We play #9 seed Arizona ST, 20-12, 7-11 in the quarter finals. They were ranked as late as January but then they just fell apart. We beat them by 31 and 7.

3/10: The MWC tourney is in Las Vegas. I don't like bringing my guys here, too much temptation. We're keeping a close eye on them!

Close early. Up 2 after 10. A late run puts us up 43-30 at halftime. We're in charge inside and Akin has 9. Only 4 TOs. We get the lead to 20 fairly quickly.

92-67. 27, 1, 3, 4 for Akin, 20, 9 for Arch, 14, 6 for Sitt. 8 TOs.

We have the geeks looking at the Water Department computers.

3/12: As expected, it is #2 seed, #4 ranked Arizona, 28-5, for the title. We won by 17 at home, lost by 17 there. They're 7-1 vs. ranked teams. We're favored by 2 ½ but it's going to come down to who plays better.

We're ranked #1 again.

Game time: Sellout crowd and they're loud.

We score the first 9. Up 7 after 10. Akin is on fire. 62-35 at the break. We're scoring at will. 22 for Akin, 12 for Arch. Their PG has 3 fouls.
It's over early and the subs are in.

89-58 and the title. Never expected it to be so easy. 30, 4, 2, 3 for Akin, 14, 12, 4 for Arch, 14, 5 for Sitt. +11 RBs.

3/12: Selection show: #1 East, #1 overall. Not a bad bracket. We start with play in winner, #16 seed Siena, 17-17. This should be a walk over.

3/16: We don't have a lot of energy. 46-26 at the half. 15 for Morr. We're winning big inside.

80-69. It was never in doubt but we played poorly. 20, 18, 3 for Archer, 26, 1, 3 for Morr, 14, 7 for Sitt, 13, 3, 4, 5 for Akin. +20 RBs.

Nothing new on the Water department situation.

The contests, special menus and other fun continue.

3/17: Sadly, our 2nd round opponent is Stanford. Why sadly, because absolutely no one wants to play a conference rival in an early round.

They are the #9 seed and are 22-12. We've beaten them easily three times this season.

3/18: We're not playing any better than we did in our last game. 37-32 at the half. 15 for Akin.

“If you guys don't wake up you're gonna be out in the Sweet 16. You're playing like crap!”
Up 14 with 10 left.

81-62. Another mediocre performance. The talent differential got us through these first two games.

23, 4, 3 for Akin, 12 each for Sitt and Morr.

Hali and I spend a lovely couple of days on the boat.
