12/13: Disaster strikes. The game was an easy home win over #14 Kansas, 71-40. The usual domination inside and an easy win.
With only second remaining in the first half one of our “Big 4” went down. Turned out it is a torn MCL and he's out for a very long time. He MAY be back in time for the start of practice in October.
Frosh Ross Cort will be our #1 off the bench and Wams, Wrig, and Bute will all get more time. Tough injury!
1/1/2057: 2 more wins. 83-56 mover #8 Alabama, here. 21, 16 for Wrig, 20, 5 for Wams, 12, 12 for Bute, so the inside players continued to do what they do. +20 down low, +18 RBs.
Our last pre-conference game was a 90-66 home win over Xavier. 28, 11 for Bute, 17, 11 for Wams, 15, 9 for Wrig. Our SG, Rick Tigs, had 19, 5, 5, 5. We dominated inside again.
We end pre-conference play at 11-0, #2 ranked, #1 NET. Virginia, who we beat easily, is #1, which mystifies me.
+21.6 PPG, +16.0 RBs, #1 and #1 in margin. -4 TOs but 13.6, which is not good. +5.0 assists.
Key Wams leads us in scoring with 16.3; he is 4th in RBs with 7.8. Mak Wrig is 2nd in scoring, 16.1, 3rd in RBs. Ed Bute scores 13.8. Dyl Cole, who is now lost for the season, was our leader in RBs with 8.9; he got 12.6 PPG. Rick Tigs gets 12.5. PG Jord Eard gets 5.6 assists.
The PAC-12 has only one other ranked team, #6 San Diego ST, so Coach says it will be a battle between them and us. We play them twice.
Jed Clark here. We are approaching another solar system. Well, the probe to our left found it and they are fairly close. They see two planets and three moons in the “Goldilocks Zone.”
