It was another season finish of being knocked out by a division rival. This time it was Providence a tournament #1 seed, who beat Butler in the Elite Eight to halt their run. Although Providence themselves would be trumped the next round, it stung Coach S. to keep losing to teams within the division. They beat Providence in the Regular Season, why couldn't they do it when it mattered the most? Either way, it was a disappointing end to the run, but perhaps a predictable location for Butler this year, at least according to their AP and tournament ranking. Overall the season was decent, albeit somewhat forgettable. There were no incredible stories or memorable moments, just clean basketball and a couple of gripes along the way. Coach S. would have to keep an eye on the upcoming and incoming talent of this team to see if any leaders could emerge.

Amy's DePaul team had an excellent run before being knocked off in the Finals by Baylor 70-61. It was the DePaul Women's Basketball Team's best run in school history. However, a lot of her talent was leaving or graduating, so it may have been her only chance for a few years to win the tournament. Hopefully they'd be competitors again in no-time under her leadership Coach S. thought.

Final Record: 30-8 (15-5)

It was another solid year of recruiting. Those had become commonplace at this point. Butler again acquired the National #1, Brandon Tenys, a Power Forward who was a local player. He was a star that could hopefully usher in another deep tournament run. Cory Askew would hopefully provide some much needed scoring power while Drew Beck could eventually step in as starting Center and fill a position where a key player (Kesper) was graduating.
