11/20: We enter the rankings at #19.

Interestingly enough it's a rematch with #3 seed Pitt, 2-1. We beat them by 16 in the season opener. They can score outside but they didn't last time we met.

Game time: We take the lead at once. Up 12 after 10. 38-24 at halftime. 10 for Laws, 8 for Daws and Reed. +8 RBs. Up 17 with 10 to play. They make a run at us.

78-66 and the title. They got as close as 6. 17, 10, 3 for Daws, 19, 4 for Reed, 13, 9 for Sear, 12, 3, 5 for Laws.

I have never seen one by I am hearing about “movies.” Evidently they involve pictures projected onto a wall, that move so that the people in them walk, run, move about in all sorts of ways. Hm.

12/1: We lost to #12 Memphis, 70-74 here. It was close all the way and we just could not quite catch them late. Their SG had 31; we had no answers for him. 14, 7, 6 for Reed, 16, 3, 3 for Laws, 12, 8 for Daws. But we lost the inside game, -10 in the paint, -9 rebounds. Only 8 turnovers.

We changed the lineup before the game and put Laws at SF, Reed at PG. Snee was not producing.

Next we defeated Louisville easily here, 82-51. It was never a game. 21, 4, 4 for Laws, 14, 4, 8 for Reed. 10 turnovers. We held them to 33.3% shooting.

Next we went to Tulsa and defeated them handily, 75-49. 16, 3, 5 for Laws, who is flourishing at SF. 143, 5, 6 for Reed, who is also doing very well at his new position, Point Guard. 16, 1, 3 for Snee from the bench. +16 points in the paint.

12/18: 76-52 over VA Commonwealth here. We were up by only 5 at the half but then we took over. 14, 15 for Daws, 13, 2, 10 for Reed, 13, 7 for Sear. 8 turnovers and total control inside.

68-57 over Ohio ST here. We led all the way. 12, 13, 6 for Reed, 15, 11, 1, 4 for Daws14, 4 for Wray. We dominated inside.

An easy 78-55 win over Auburn at home. Another game that was close for a half, we led by only 5, and that we simply took over. 24, 15 for Daws, 13, 1, 8 for Reed, who has been terrific at the Point. +16 in the paint.

We're 9-1, #21, with 3 pre-conference games to play.

1/8/1910: We win 3 more.

77-54 over Wichita ST here. This was a walkover. 15, 10 for Daws, 16, 5 for Reed, 12, 4, 3, 3 for Wray. +32 down low.

64-40 over Indiana here. Terrific defense! 13, 10 for Sear, 12, 7, 5 for Reed, 13, 3, 6 for Wray, 10, 11 for Daws. 11 TOs and we were in control in the paint.

Our last pre-conference game was an easy 96-68 win over Dayton at home. 24, 5 for Ike Rond, 12, 4, 10 for Reed.

We're 12-1, #20, NET #4.

+17.9 PPG, +6.0 RBs, -6.8 TOs, 12.1, which I will take. +7.6 assists, +4.9 steals.

We do not have a big scorer. Deon Daws leads with 12.8, Reed gets 12.6, Laws 11.9, Wray 11.1. Daws also leads in rebounds with 9.7. Reed gets 6.9 assists.

Our three guard lineup is working very well!

Conference B should be quite challenging. 5 ranked teams and all but one team has a winning record.

1/22: I expected Conference B to be challenging. We went 2-2 in our first 4 games.

70-51 over Murray ST here. We led all the way. 18, 9, 3 for Daws, 17, 2, 5 for Reed, 13 for sub guard Aki Snee. We shot well and defended very well. +16 inside.

Then we lost badly at Oregon, 64-87. Except for Laws, 13, 5, 3, and Sear, 15, 6, we really did not play well. They won both inside and outside.

Next came another road loss, 53-61 at San Diego. They got off to a very strong start, built a 21 point lead, and we were never able to catch up. We got as close as 4. 13 for Wray, but no one else did much. Daws fouled out in 11 minutes.

The fourth game was a road win, which we needed! 83-73 at Texas Tech. 19, 13, 3 for Laws, 21, 8 for Sear.+27 rebounds.

2 of our next 4 are against top 10 teams, one home, one away.

I saw a “movie” the other night in Providence. It was a special showing. Dark, flickery, hard to see. The movements were very choppy. I was not impressed.

No doubt there will be improvements over time, of course. This “radio,” which I have now heard three times, also needs major improvements. The sound quality varies from decent to simply impossible to understand. And the background noise, called static, is a major distraction.

Sound recording, which I have heard twice, is a bit better than “radio,” but still has background scratchy noises, and does not sound “real.”

I am very interested in keeping up with new developments in this modern age so i seek out opportunities to see and hear new inventions.

2/5: 1-3 in our last 4. We may have hit the limit as to how far we can go.

First was a VERY tough loss ot #9 Michigan here, 83-84. We came back from a 17 point deficit, took the lead. It went back and forth late and their VERY good SG hit a 29 footer in the final second. 22, 5, 9 for Reed, 16, 3, 3 for Wray, 14, 5, 3 for Laws. Both Reed and Daws fouled out and they took 17 more shots from the foul line. A frustrating loss on many levels.

#10 Tennessee embarrassed us there, 57-92. We were down only 7 at the half but completely fell apart in the 2nd. We shot only 32.8%, 25% in the 2nd.

Our lone win was here, vs. West Virginia, 81-66. We trailed by 1 at the half but played very well in the second. 16, 8 for Daws13, 9, 3 for
Laws, 19, 2, 3 for Rond, 14, 1, 7, 3 for Reed. Good inside play.

Then we lost 78-86 at Wake Forest, falling too far behind early. Our bench played quite well but our starters did not!

As we look ahead at the second half of conference play, it will not get appreciably easier!

2/19: 3-1 in our last 4.

77-57 over #13 Purdue here. Our best win in the conference so far. We were down 1 at the half and just did everything right in the 2nd, holding them to 18 points. 23, 3, 8 for Reed, 16, 2, 5 for Wray, 17, 4 for Laws. +16 in the paint.

We lost at Florida, 91-96. We again played little to no defense. They shot 68.9%; outrageous! 18, 3, 6, 5 for Laws, 16, 4, 1, 4 for Snee, 13, 0, 8 for Reed. But you need to stop the other team.

70-45 over Virginia here. We played very well. 22, 4, 6 for Reed. Very good defense.

96-72 over Mississippi ST here. We were on fire, making shots all night long. 23, 0, 5 for Snee, 16, 7 for Lend, 14, 3, 7 for Reed. We were dominant inside.

We're 18-7, 6-6, tied for 7th place, still ranked #20, NET #12.

“Let Me Call You Sweetheart” is a very nice song.

3/5: We finish strong, winning our last 4 regular season games.

We won a real contest at #21 North Carolina, 68-62. They led for 30 minutes and then we took over. 11, 12, 5, 4 for Daws, 13, 9 for Rond.

Very strong inside.

86-71 at Murray ST. We led all the way. 17, 8, 4 for Laws, 18, 4, 5 for Reed, 17, 5, 3 for Lend.

77-55 over Oregon here. They beat us there. We were up by only 3 at the half. 20, 2, 5 for Wray, 16, 7, 8 for Reed. Very solid inside.

Finally, we avenged a road loss against San Diego ST, winning 84-58. 19, 1, 9 for Reed, 18, 2, 3 for Wray. 9 turnovers.

We end the regular season at 22-7, 10-6, 4th place, 5 back of 1st place Tennessee. We are ranked #18, NET #10. We are playing our best ball of the season so we are optimistic about the post season.

+11.5 PPG, +4.7 rebounds, -4.9 turnovers but we still commit too many. +5.7 assists.

PG Colt Reed leads us with 13.1 points, 6.2 assists. G/F Tom Laws gets 12.0. We do most of our scoring inside. Deon Daws leads us with 8.7 rebounds.

3/9: We play #12 seed San Diego ST, 16-14, 6-10, in the quarter finals. They won by 8 there and then last week we won by 26 at home.

They score inside but do not rebound all that well. Our back court is better and we feel we can turn them over.

3/10: We take an early lead. Up 7 after 10. 52-42 at the half. 13 for Reed, 10 for Laws. We're +18 in the paint. Rond and Sear both have 3 fouls. Up 20 with 10 to go.

93-76. 13, 8, 4 for Reed, 14, 5 for Sear. +32 in the paint.

3/11: We play #3 ranked, #1 seed Tennessee, 27-4, in the semifinals. They embarrassed us 57-92 there. They play excellent D and they rebound well. We will need to be at our very best to have any chance at all.

Game time: Back and forth early then they heat up. Down 8 after 10. 46-57 at the half. Our D isn't getting the job done. They're shooting
52.6%, with 8 threes. Daws has 3 fouls, as does his man. We're playing sloppy ball and it's really hurting us. We're down 20 early in the 2nd.
It's not happening.

77-106. As they did last time they met they rolled over us.
