2/5: 2-2 in our last 4. 5-3 in conf. play. We lost to Arkansas there by 2 in a game we should have won, then later lost to #1 ranked Ohio ST.

Ranked #9, NET #3.

2/19: 4 wins get us to 21-4, 9-3, in a 5 way tie for the conf. lead after 12 games. All of our last 4 games are vs. ranked teams, 2 of them on the road. #8, NET #2.

3/5: 2-2 in our last 4.

We end the regular season at 22-6, 11-5. #9 NET #4.

Tied for 4th, #4 seed.

+12.6 PPG, +5.1 RBs, -4.4 TOs but 13.6, not good!

Cage leads us in scoring with 143. Maye gets 12.8 and 7 RBs. Andy gets 12.7 and leads in RBs with 8.2. 10.2 for Venn with 6.1 assists. 10.0 for Turr, who only started 12 games.

3/16: Early lead, as expected. Up 15 after 10. 52-32 at the half. Shooting 52.8%, controlling the paint. 14 for Andy. Up 25 with 10 to go. This one is wrapped up.

91-60. 15, 11, 4 for Andy, 18, 5 for Turr, 13 each for Maye and Cage, 9, 9, 8 for Venn. +22 in the paint and only 9 TOs.

Next up is #7 Wake Forest, 20-10. When the threes are falling they can be tough.

3/18: We take the lead immediately. 34-7 after 10! Wow! 53-24 at the half. 17 for Maye, big edge inside, 2 TOs. We’re running away and hiding.

88-53. 18, 8 for Cage, 21 for Maye, 12, 7, 4 for Ture, 8, 5, 10 for Venn. Only 6 TOs! We controlled the inside.

It’s #3 seed, #18 ranked Oregon, 21-11, in the Sweet Sixteen. We beat them by 34 in December.

The Muslim Brotherhood is founded in Egypt.

3/23: It’s close early. Down 1 after 10. Both teams are sluggish and shooting poorly. 18-21 at the end of a very poorly played 1st half- by both teams. 8 and 4 for Andy but no one else is doing anything. We shot 25% to their 29.6%; pathetic. We quickly take the lead but then it’s back and forth. Down 4 with 10 to play.

54-58. VERY disappointing. I really thought we’d go deeper this season. 16, 8 for Andy; no one else had more than 8 points. We shot 33.9% and that’s what did us in. You need to make shots.

We’re losing starters Jim Andy and Jule Turr, and sub Mark Geer. Good recruiting class coming in.

4/3: #3 Ohio ST wins it all.

4/4: Awards: I get Conf. COY. I am disappointed that at least one of my big men was not honored.

4/9: For the first time I’m pondering moving.

No tempting offers. I’m back.

4/19: Original Oxford Dictionary is published.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade. Not likely but who knows.

No luck.

25-8, 11-5. Really good season but not so for the post season.
