73-53 at Morehead ST. It was tied at the half. Our defense was rock sloid in the second half. 23, 15 for Qual. +20 rebounds.

A 91-52 rout over Southern Illinois here. 41-17 at the half. 15, 0, 8 for PG Tony Larn. 8 trunovers and very good inside play.

103-66 over IUPUI here, in our regular season finale.

Game time: Up 5 after 10; they're staying with us. We go on a big run! 57-36 at the half. 54% shooting, a big edge inside. 3 turnovers. Up 16 with 10 to go.

96-73. 18, 10 for Qual, 22, 3 for Pefo. +12 for the bench. Huge advantage inside. 10 turnovers.

3/8: #3 seed Binghamton, 16-13, 10-6, for the title. We did not play them during the regular season. Their starting SG is out with a broken ankle. We're a big favorite, but we need to play better than we did in our last game!

Game time: Close early. Up 4 after 10. 41-41 at halftime. The defense is not doing its job again, they are shooting 54.2%. 3 fouls for Pefo.

The bench is not scoring tonight and we need them to. A big run midway through the second. The game is well in hand with 10 to go.

89-67 and the title! 48-26 in the second half. 20, 7 for sub C/F Ben Hamm. 16, 3, 2, 4 for Qual. +16 RBs.

3/9: The Russian Bolshevik party becomes the Communist party.

3/11: #9, NET #8. Can we hope for a #3 seed or even a #2. We'll see tomorrow.

First documented case of “Spanish flu” in the U. S.

3/12: #4 South. We play #13 Wichita ST, 19-11. Should have been at least a #3! Their starting PF is out with a broken finger. We are a solid favorite. If we play well we should be fine.

Russian capitol moved from Petrograd to Moscow.

3/17: We take the lead early. Up 8 after 10. They come back. 43-43 at the half. We fell asleep and I am not happy! Down 4 with 10 to go. Up 5 with 5 to play.

78-64 but it was scary for a long time. A late run brought it home. 14, 2, 4, 4 for Dunn, only 11 and 7 for Qual. 12 turnovers to 26.

An expensive win. Starting C Hege Pefo broke his hand and is out for the season. Ben Hamm will start; he can play but our bench will be a problem.

3/18: We play #5 seed, #15 ranked Purdue in the second round. They are 21-11 and a big favorite. On paper we look better but they have played 10 games against ranked teams (4-6). With Pefo out this won't be easy!

3/19: It is close early on. Up 1 after 10 minutes. 36-36 at halftime. -5 from the line. Qual has 3 fouls as does their C. We are not getting enough from our bench. Back and forth early in the second. Down 1 with 10 to play. We go on a mini-run.

80-71! Great win! 29, 9 for Qual, 12, 4, 7 for Dunn. +11 rebounds.

The ridiculously awful idea of Daylight Saving Time goes into effect for the first time.

3/21: The Somme offensive begins.

3/23: It is #1 seed, #7 ranked Kona, 28-6, in the round of 16. They are a strong favorite but our defense is better. Unfortunately, their C is world class and ours is out. We will need to play very well to win this one!

3/24: Close early then we go on a big run. Up 18 after 10. 47-36 at the half. We led by as many as 22 but they came back and they are in it.

We are shooting better and winning inside. Qual has 3 fouls; no one else has more than 1. We start strong! Up 20 with 10 to go.

87-70! Terrific win! 19, 11 for Topp, 15, 9 for Qual, 10, 5, 8 for Dunn. 6 players had 10 or more. +16 rebounds, +18 in the paint.

Food production is supplying us with enough food to have choices. Half of the dining halls are still not operational but work starts tomorrow.

3/25: #2 seed, #5 ranked UConn, 27-8, in the round of 8. Their starting SF has a broken nose but will play, at least some.

We're excited about this intrastate match up! UConn is heavily favored. Let us see if we have another surprise in us. It will not be easy!

3/26: Down 8 after 10. 33-34 at the half; we're not quitting! Their PF is their best player and he is showing it, 16 and 10. He is the difference. +8 for our bench. Mini-run and we're up by 10! Up 8 with 10 to go. They catch us and take the lead.

61-67. We put up a great fight! It was a defensive battle and their defense was just a little better, especially late. -8 from the foul line.

Their PF had 33 and 17 with 6 blocks. We just could not stop him. 15, 5 for Hamm. +16 for our bench.

Great season!

4/3: #1 West VA beats UConn by 4 to win the title.

4/4: Awards: Marq Qual is Conf. N MOP and first team. Pat Dunn is Defensive POY and first team. Hege Pefo made the second team. I am Conf. COY.

4/9: Not looking to move. Team Prestige up to 27. We will likely move up to conference K or even J next season. Some extremely good teams called or sent telegrams. I am not interested.

4/20: Baron Von Richthofen shoots down his 79th and 80th planes and then is himself shot down and killed.

4/23: I ask for a facilities upgrade.

No. 33-3, round of 8. Overall, for 17 seasons, 470-88, .842.
