5/1: #5 Recruiting class. Preseason #1.

We exceed our expected to spend amount.

5/29: No one transfers out so our roster is full.

6/25: We’ll go to Indy and all the regional camps.

6/26: 5 scholarships. We need 2 guards, 3 bigs, or vice versa.

7/11: We offer to a PG, an SG, 2 PFs, and a C.

8/7: 4 on the Norton list: C Rahi Nelo is #1, F Joe Coll is #11, SG Ram Haer is #24, and C/F Lee More is #27.

9/11: We get one lose 2. We get a PF, #30, lose a PF and a PG.

9/18: We get all 4! A clean sweep. A C, #4, an SG, #12, a PG, #33, and a PF, #35. They’re all good students so no worries re the SAT score.

Going back to the Coaches Classic.

10/2: First day of practice.

11/12: Here’s the lineup:

Senior Ram Haer is at the Point. He looks ready!

Senior SF Chad Howe is at SG again this season.

#3 guard is senior Art Hart, who does a lot of things well. Junior Ivo Rich is next and he’s good as well. Then comes frosh Noel Setz who needs to work on his game.

Soph PF Joe Coll is at SF again. He did a great job last season.

Frosh Lee More is at PF and looks very good.

Soph Rahi Nelo is back at C. He’s our best player.

First big guy off the bench is senior Gary Sims. We lose nothing when he comes in. Juco junior Cal Marr looks very good as well. Senior Shay Henk has never cracked the lineup but he can play. Junior Dave
Finn won’t play much and neither will frosh Ike Good.

We start tomorrow at the Coaches Classic. We’re the #1 seed and we play #16 Lipscomb.

11/13: 85-59. We led all the way and were never challenged. 32, 12, 3 blocks for Nelo, 12, 7 for frosh Lee More, 11, 3, 4 for Sims.

#9 seed UC- Santa Barbara in the quarter finals. Should be a walkover.

11/15: 98-58. They stayed with us for the first half. 28, 11, 3 for Nelo, 15, 4, 6 for Howe, 23 for Sims. 68 in the paint.

#4 seed Arizona, 2-0, in the semifinals.

11/17: Early lead. Up 13 after 10. Then a big run. 54-32 at halftime. 12, 5, 4 for Coll, 11 for Sims. +36 inside.

Up 23 with 10 to go.

85-71. 21, 8, 5 for Coll, 15, 4 for Sims, 12, 11 for Nelo. 60 down low.

#6 seed Kona, 3-0, in the title game.

11/19: Close early. Up by 10 after 10. 48-26 at halftime. 12 each for Coll and Howe, 8, 6 for Nelo.

86-38. What a butt whomping! 21, 11, 3 for Sims, the best 6th man in the country. 64 in the lane.

At #3 Purdue, 10-3.

12/28: Close early. Tied after 10. Staying close. 47-44 at halftime. Balanced scoring. Nelo, Coll, and Sims all have 3 fouls. Way too many whistles!

It’s staying close. Up 5 with 10 to go. Late run.

More sprained his wrist. Day to day.

Lee More hurt his calf. Limited minutes for 2-3 games.

We clinched the regular season Big Ten title.

At 17-11, 9-8 Michigan.

2/27: Early lead. Up 5 after 10. 37-42. We were flat for the last 15 minutes. I need to wake them up.

Back and forth early. Down 3 with 10 to play.

83-87. The D was awful. 21, 12, 4 blocks for Coll, 14, 6 for Nelo. Not a good night!

Ram Haer sprained a wrist. Limited playing time for at least 2 games. More is back.
