3/28: We’re in the Final Four against #3 seed, #17 ranked Minnesota, 27-10, who we beat three times this season.

4/1: Early lead. Up 14 after 10. 52-29 at the half. 16, 7 for Howe, 13, 5 for Coll, 10 assists for Haer.

Up 19 with 10 to play.

91-80. 20, 8 for Howe, 19, 7 for Sims, 16, 9 for Coll, 13, 5 for More.

It’s #1 seed, #6 ranked UCLA, 33-6, for the title.

It was an expensive semi-final for both teams. We lost Lee More, our best player, with a torn MCL, and 6th man Greg Sims hurt his hand. They lost their starting PF with a broken leg.

4/3: Close early. Up 1 after 10. It’s a battle! N39-47 at the half. Lousy D. We’re controlling the paint, even without More, but they’re beating us outside, and our short bench is getting beat.

We catch up then it’s back and forth. A run puts us up 13 with 10 to play. Subs are in with 3 ½ to go!

99-78 and the national title! 24, 9 for sub F Cal Marr, 14, 12, 2, 2, 3 for Nelo, 17, 9 for Coll, 14, 6 for Howe. Only 7 TOs. +27 RBs, +48 in the paint.

4/4: Awards: Rahi Nelo is tourney MOP. Lee More is a 1st team All American. Nelo is 2nd team. I am National COY. In the Big Ten, More and Coll make the 1st team, Nelo makes 2nd, and I am Conf. COY.

4/9: Thus ends this association. I think I demonstrated that the one guard all inside offense works really well.

Record for my 7 years: 216-46, .824.
