*Contract Ran Out Question*

I just finished the 2022 season and right before I clicked advance to next season a message popped up saying that my contract ran out
and I need to select a new team. I selected a new team but then changed teams to my previous team because I wanted to
continue on with them. I then clicked on staff and in the general manager section my name wasn't there it was some random
gm but I still have full control over the team like I previously had. Can someone explain this to me? and also, why did it make me switch teams?

You're probably in career mode and didn't get fired, but didn't get renewed either (which is basically the same). If you don't want to deal with getting fired you can uncheck the "can be fired" checkbox when creating a league. Changing to a new team after picking a new team may be a use case I haven't tried yet... I'm assuming you used the Change Team button in settings/options to change your team. I'll have to look into that and make sure it's not breaking things in your use case.
