It doesn't make sense that one of the logic settings for DL is "Rush the Passer", but this is not available for LBs. Please add this as an option for LB logic in the Team Defense Strategy screen

In case it wasn't clear, I'm talking specifically about the "Team Strategy - Game Plan" screen, "Linebackers" DDLB
Right now, neither "Rush The Passer" or "Blitz" are available as options for Linebackers. We have RunSupport, Mixed and Coverage. Not a huge thing obvs, but would be nice and I think makes plenty o' sense

If you are playing a 43, are you having all 3 linebackers blitz? What about a 34? In any case, all the linebackers aren't doing a specific thing in most plays. If they are, it is MOST LIKELY going to be some kind of coverage. The idea isn't to blitz or not to blitz, it's what their first step is going to be... pass or run basically. Are the looking for a run? If so, their first step is likely to be forward. If pass, their first step is likely to be backward. If mixed, they will take a second to read the play. If the specific play calls for linebacker X to blitz, well, he'll blitz. That's not needed on the Team Strategy, that's on a play by play basis, with a GENERAL leaning involved.

Understanding how everything works together will help you understand the specifics of different parts of the game. Rush the Passer or Blitz are not needed in general settings, but are set in specific plays. The general Team Strategy - Game Plan screen basically tells your defense what it's primary purpose is, but that can be countered by the specific play call. For example, if you are a defense looking to stop the run first, you would probably have run focus, Defensive line as run support, and linebackers as run support. But, if it's 3rd and 20, your play will, hopefully, be a play where you have your defensive line trying to rush the passer and not looking for a running play, etc.

So, again, to be clear, the Team Strategy - Game Plan is a very basic idea of what you want your defense to be focusing on. The plays you choose and blitzing percentage you choose will override those settings within the plays. If don't choose a specific gameplan, then the game will try to pick out plays based on your Team Strategy and blitzing percentage, adjusting depending on things like down and distance, score, time left...

I'm going by what is in the game, fella...Run Support vs Coverage are already options...Pass Rush is an option for the DL...there is no reason why Pass Rush would not therefore be a valid selection for LBs. A lot of defensive strategy either drops OLBs specifically into coverage or has them rush the passer. Blitz percentage in other portions of the game could refer to CB, SS, FS, OLB, MLB...etc.
Some teams have OLBs pin their ears back and focus on "RUSH THE PASSER" to quote Coach Cowher. So in other words, within the framework of the game, I respectfully disagree.

Also, I haven't find blitzing plays on efense playbooks (except for one, for 3-4 defense). Have you?

Honestly, I really don't care much about calling defensive plays I usually just quickly press whatever the CPU suggests but I'll make a more concerted effort to look for out and out blitz plays available for us to call.

Blitz logic is installed to avoid unbalancing in multiplayer leagues.

However, if you want full control of all blitzes, go to plays.xml and copy all the plays from the 'blitzes' playbook, into the 'default' playbook and they will be available just like all the other plays.

Where do I find the default playbook xml? If it's in the same file, where exactly do I paste the blites playbook?

both the default and the blitzes are in the plays.xml file.

Depending on how you installed the file will be in different places, but its in your install directory in the folder called 'data' (you can just do a windows search for it).

The blitz playbook is at the bottom, the default is somewhere in the middle (make sure to copy the blitzes into the default defensive playbook, not the offensive one).

just move everything between the <Playbook ....> and </Playbook>
