DEFECT-Stat Discrepnancy in Play Analysis

i was studying a team's statistical analysis information and I appear to have found a stat discrepancy; if you calculate, for example, the total amount of passing yards a team has allowed this season by multiplying the number of passing plays listed in the analysis by the listed yardage per pass, you get a figure that is way off from defensive passing yards allowed as listed in the "Quick Stats" box in the lower right hand corner, or the stat amt listed in the CSV "TeamSeasonStats".
The defesive yardage listed in both the CSV and tne Quick Stats do line up, and when I manually calculated the total yards by going through the box scores for each of the team's games, that lined up with the TeamSeasonStats/Quick Stats

So looks like the play analysis is way off. Same can be said for Rushing yardage being off for each team as listed in their particular statistical analysis page as well

The play analysis is based on play called... so if you call a pass in the game but the QB runs it will be different.

Ok just to confirm 0 you're saying if a Pass os called but the QB ran, it would still caount as a pass?
Well, either way this is not good. If this is what is creatng the discrepancy, well this doesnt help us. The play analysis doesnt help anybody devise new gameplans and playcalling strategoes if the numbers are skewed bc of weird quicks like that. Also, the discrepancies are so great I think you need to double check the calcuoations the game is using either way.

The team I'm looking at now, in the play analysis it says, for Passes called in 1st down, the average gain is 2.8 yards per play. Where is this 2.8 figure coming from? Unless I'm missing something obvious, this is cannot possibly be correct. The analysis also says 98 pass plays were called on first downs. 98 * 2.8 = 274.4 yards...uh, wait, this cannot be correct. How did I earn .4 yards on a play? Are you really tracking yardage to decimal points? If so, this appears to only be the case for Play Analysis, which leads to the next obvious questions why are you tracking non-whole number yardage results for plays?? It occurred to me maybe bc the totals are split amongst the downs - but that didn't add up, literally. The decimal values for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th would need to add together to equal 1 correct? Yah, they dont.

The play analysis looks at the play called and the gain made regardless of what happened on the play (incomplete, sack, qb scramble, etc.). It's just a tool like any other screen in the game. The report is pretty good for identifying which plays are working for teams and which aren't for most users. There are some players who will prefer to drop down into the play by play to see what really happened on those plays for further analysis.

Internally the game does track yardage in feet, so it's possible one of the play logs is not converting correctly. It's also probable that the gains are being rounded after being divided out. Could be 2.75 could be 2.84.

Just pls rechecl the calculations for Play Analysis. The yardage should be pretty close to the correspoding statistical yardage yes? Bc those numbers are very different right now.
Example:
PASS-
analyis: 222 4.8 1065.6
actual: 169 6.9 1173

RUN-
analysis: 168 3.3 554.4
actual: 136 4.0 545

Am I right that this is a defect or am I missing something big?

I'm still pretty sure it's off due to penalties, sacks, turnovers, scrambling, etc. I don't have an ETA on when I'll have a chance to look into it closer. Probably a next version kind of thing.
