Quick question from a potential buyer

I play OOTP Baseball and love a good deep realistic sim. So I am wondering how deep and realistic this sim is? I have not seen to many American Football sims out there. As a matter of fact the last one I played was Front Office Sports Page Football back in the day. So my question to you guys is: Is this game deep and realistic and is it worth the buy? Also are the online leagues fun? There was one other football sim I saw on Steam and it was FOF 8 and was wondering if anyone can compare the two? Thank you...
