Please Fix: Force Strict Cap

Apparently this setting/staying under the cap only applies to MY team. I just signed a free agent OL in-season to provide depth because of an injury and didn't realize that signing put me over the cap. Ok no biggie. But then i went to the Financial screen and noticed there are like 4 CPU teams that are over the cap also. But all of a sudden i'm unable to sim ahead unless i cut someone and get MY team back under the cap. This makes no sense. Can we get a fix for this? Thanks

Did you check AFTER the next sim, after you fixed your team, what the other teams that are over the cap did? They are CPU teams... they can't actually fix their cap problems until you run the sim.

I don't have to check. CPU teams are always over the cap despite having Force Strict cap checked i just never took the time to post about it. Do you really think the CPU teams just coincidentally happen to go over the cap in the SAME week i did? lol Doesn't even make sense. I'm in Week 5 of my season not Week 1. This was just my first time being over the cap and discovering that i can't sim forward but i've always noticed several CPU teams being able to operate while over the cap. I'm pretty sure you have some in your league if you go look.

Here's a Financial snapshot from a league where every team is on CPU control. The Chargers and Giants are way over. These are fictional players not the NFL mod btw.

Strict Cap prevents people from signing Free Agents bidding offers that put them over cap (and later dropping them). However it doesn't affect teams picking up players for minimum contracts to fill out roster limits. It prevents simming until all user teams are under cap... but not CPU since in many cases you don't have control over what the CPU does and this could put you into a situation where you couldn't move forward. It also doesn't prevent teams from resigning their own players to go over cap or draft picks pushing teams over cap. I thought the CPU would drop players to get back under in certain scenarios, but I may need to look at it again.
