I'm trying to get a little bit of an idea of how the AI "thinks" in this game. When a team under cpu control is hiring staff, is there any kind of "deep analysis" that goes into it's decision making, or is it something that happens completely at random?

The CPU does do bidding, but looks more at overall coach ratings and cost over trying to match coaches to current personnel.
